Sikkim band GATC on America's Got Talent feat: Playing in front of Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara was pinch-me moment
A post shared by America's Got Talent Auditions (@agtauditions)
Ask if they saw it coming, and GATC bassist Yogesh Pradhan adds: 'Seeing Steel Panther on America's Got Talent a couple of years ago definitely planted the seed in our minds, but we didn't expect it. It all began with a message on Girish's personal Instagram from one of the producers of America's Got Talent. They had come across a soundcheck reel he posted from their performance at Independence Rock, and it clearly struck a chord.'
Sharing how making it to the next round of AGT felt like, guitarist Suraz Karki says, 'America's Got Talent is one of the biggest stages in the world, and when the opportunity came along, it felt like the right time to bring our music to a broader audience. We've toured across Europe and Asia over the years, but this felt like a rare opportunity to share our music with an even wider audience in the USA. Standing there, playing our hearts out in front of the audience, Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Mel B and Howie Mandel – it was nothing short of a pinch-me moment for us.'
Ask how they plan to prepare for AGT, and drummer Nagen Sarki shares, 'Our aim is to be ourselves and express that authentically through our performances. At the same time, we're working quietly behind the scenes to stay ready for whatever this journey has in store for us. Maintaining that balance will help us give our all on the America's Got Talent stage.'
Assam's Binita Chetry became the first Indian to reach Britain's Got Talent finals recently. And now GATC. Mention how the Northeast seems to be on a roll, and Girish says, 'It's amazing to see artistes like Binita Chetry, Maya Neelakantan, and now us making it to global platforms like Britain's Got Talent and America's Got Talent. It's a proud moment not just for the region, but the entire country. It shows the world that India is bursting with creativity and passion. We're proud to carry that spirit forward and hope it inspires many more artists to dream big and break barriers!'

'He's not studying at all...': Sachin Tendulkar's humorous response to Air Hostess as she mistook Indian cricketer for Arjun
Sachin Tendulkar Apart from being widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen of all time, Sachin Tendulkar is also a master prankster. Anyone who played alongside him especially the 2000 batch that debuted under Sourav Ganguly will vouch for it. Stories of Tendulkar teasing his teammates have become legendary. Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, and Virender Sehwag all experienced it firsthand, but none of their encounters compare to what Suresh Raina went through. From 2006 until the Master Blaster's retirement, Raina and Tendulkar were teammates. Despite all the ups and downs, Raina vividly recalls this one incident on a plane. They were also involved in some well-known victories and heartbreaks at the same time. Raina recalled the time Tendulkar chose to amuse himself at his expense while they were traveling to a city to play a match. Suresh Raina recalled a funny story from a flight with Sachin Tendulkar 'We were once going to play a Test match when I was about 18 years old, and I was sitting in business class next to Sachin paaji. The air hostess came over and said, 'Good morning, Sachin sir. How are you?' and assuming I was Arjun Tendulkar, she said something to him about me in passing; Sachin paaji saw a chance to have some fun. He replied, 'Yes, he's not studying at all, what to do? I've even told Anjali (Tendulkar)',' Raina said on the 'Cheeky Singles' show. The incident most likely occurred after July 2010, the year Raina made his Indian Test debut. Raina joined a distinguished list that includes Mohammad Azharuddin, Sourav Ganguly, and Virender Sehwag, and became the 12th Indian batter to score a century in his Test debut against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Recalling that flight in more detail, Raina said that Sachin eventually took to the skies and resolved the case of mistaken identity, but not before they all laughed heartily about it. 'Later, we went to the section where the other players were sitting, and I blurted, 'Why are you making me sit in business class? You've made me Arjun Tendulkar!' (Sachin) paaji eventually clarified it to air hostess saying, 'He's a part of the Indian cricket team, he is Suresh Raina, not my son'. Paaji loved playing such big pranks sometimes.' Raina mentioned. Sachin Tendulkar and Suresh Raina have shared some incredible batting partnership There have been some amazing batting partnership between Raina and Tendulkar, but none more well-known than their 256-run partnership in the same game at Colombo. India reached a massive first-innings total of 707 thanks to 203 runs from Tendulkar and 120 from Raina. The game ended in a draw.

Badshah Faces Backlash From FWICE Over Alleged Pakistan-Linked US Concert, Asked To Clarify Association
Mumbai: Rapper Badshah is facing heat from the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) over his upcoming concert in Dallas, Texas. The FWICE has written a letter to Badshah seeking clarification on his association with 3Sixty Shows, a Pakistani company sponsoring his "Badshah UnFinished Tour" at the Curtis Culwell Centre on September 19, 2025. FWICE said that Badshah's collaboration with a Pakistani company goes against national sentiment and directives issued by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India. The letter highlighted ongoing terrorism and hostile activities directed against India from across the border, including the recent brutal massacre of innocent Indian tourists in Pahalgam. "As you are aware, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), in alignment with the directives issued by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, has clearly instructed all artists, performers, and technicians in the lndian entertainment industry to refrain from engaging in any professional collaborations or performances with Pakistani nationals or organizations connected to pakistan. These measures are in place considering the continuing acts of terrorism and hostile activities directed against lndia from across the border," read the letter. Speaking to ANI on the same, FWICE president BN Tiwari said, "Aesa lagta hai India ke pass promoters hi nahi rahe hai (It seems as if India does not have any promoters). Pakistani ko isliye promote kar rahe kyunki unko paise galat tarike se aate hai (They're promoting Pakistanis because they receive money through illicit or improper channels)..unke kaam ulte seedhe hote hai ( And their work is done in a wrong way). Indian artists should get paid. They do not care about what we should do and what we should not do. We should discuss the country's interests. The country means nothing to them (artists). Show milna chahiye chahe vo jo bhi karta ho (They should get the show, irrespective of who does it). There is a sentiment. Even after all the problems in Pahalgam, there is no peace. Parmanu bomb ki dhamki di ja rahi hai (There is a threat of a nuclear bomb.) It is very difficult to work with such countries and their people." He added, "Isi mahine mein dilli ja rahe hai kyunki Parliament chal rahi thi isliye hum soch rahe hai, ministeron logon se mil sakte hai (We are going to Delhi this month. Given that the Parliament's Monsoon Session is ongoing, we are considering meeting with the ministers. We want to meet as many people as possible. We want to make them aware." Ashok Dubey, FWICE, General Secretary, referred to a strong letter written to actor Kartik Aaryan, asking him to "withdraw" from a reported Independence Day event in Houston, USA. The film body raised concerns that the show is reportedly hosted by a Pakistani-owned entity and stated that participating in it would go against national interests, especially following the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22. FWICE has been strict about collaborations with Pakistani nationals, previously warning actor Kartik Aaryan and condemning Diljit Dosanjh and makers of 'Sardaarji 3' for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. They even demanded the cancellation of passports and a permanent bar on availing Indian citizenship privileges for those involved. "When the Kartik Aaryan issue happened, I told the government that we are an organisation. We are doing our duty. People should think about the country. We can fight to a certain extent. If a person does not listen, we can do non-cooperation. Even after we have taken non-cooperative action, our producers still do not understand. Our people do not understand. That is why we are going to Delhi on the 18th. We are asking for time from Ashwini Vaishnaw(Union Minister of Electronics & Information Technology). Agar isi tarah se chalta rahe to har aadmi, har artist is tareeke se videshon mein jaakar perform karega Pakistani organisers ke saath..( If this continues, every artist will perform abroad with Pakistani organisers," shared Dubey. He continued talking about the Kartik Aaryan issue, giving details, "When we called Kartik Aaryan's manager, humne unko letter that, unhone messaged kiya ki hamara programme cancel ho gaya hai. We are not going..." Coming back to the 'Badhshah Un-Finished Tour' and what FWICE is planning to do, Ashok Dubey added, "We are going to Delhi on the 18th. We will meet the representatives of the government. We will keep our words..." Badshah's team hasn't issued a statement yet, but the rapper's decision to perform in the concert has sparked controversy among fans and critics. FWICE expects Badshah to uphold national sentiments and directives, and a prompt response is requested to determine further action. "In light of this, we request your immediate clarification regarding your association with this event and the said organizers. We trust that as a respected Indian artist, you will uphold the sentiments of the nation and the directives issued by FWICE and the Government of India. Your prompt response will be appreciated so that we may take the necessary steps in accordance with our regulations. Thanking you," the letter concluded.
