Website called ‘Dogequest' created to dox Tesla owners nationwide
As protests against DOGE head Elon Musk spread across the country, a website called 'Dogequest' has reportedly published the personal details of Tesla owners, leading to concerns about privacy and safety.
The site reveals the names, addresses and phone numbers of Tesla owners on an interactive map and uses an image of a Molotov cocktail as a cursor. The operators of the site have stated that they will only remove the information of Tesla owners who prove that they have sold their cars, according to 404 Media.
The new site comes amid a number of attacks on Tesla properties, such as arson at showrooms and service centers, seemingly in protest of Musk and his role in the administration of President Donald Trump.
The map on the site also includes the locations of Tesla dealerships and superchargers as well as the personal information of staff at the Department of Government Efficiency, which is led by Musk.
The accuracy of the information remains unclear. Some of the people included on the site are verified Tesla owners, backers of the company or Musk, according to 404 Media.
The site states: 'DOGEQUEST is the ultimate hub for enthusiasts of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)! Our innovative platform allows users to explore an interactive map of DOGE landmarks.'
'Leveraging our cutting-edge artificial intelligence algorithms, DOGEQUEST goes a step further by connecting like-minded Tesla owners with one another, facilitating a vibrant community through shared contact information,' the site adds.
It remains unclear where the information of alleged Tesla owners has come from.
One individual whose information was included on the site told 404 Media that they bought their Tesla in 2013 before Musk was a supporter of Trump.
'I lived through GamerGate and know how scary it is for women in particular to be [doxed]. I understand that the website is anti-Elon, as am I, but I fear that this type of website and in particular, the presence of my full name and home address can be a physical threat to me and my family,' they added. 'I can imagine the purpose is to harass and threaten perceived supporters of Elon, which I emphatically am not. As much as I can hate a stranger, I hate that guy.'
It comes after several high profile 'attacks' on Tesla vehicles, including on at a Las Vegas dealership this week.
Musk responded to the news that several Teslas were engulfed in flames in Las Vegas, writing on X on Tuesday that 'This level of violence is insane and deeply wrong. Tesla just makes electric cars and has done nothing to deserve these evil attacks.'
Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a Tuesday statement that the attacks on Teslas and its dealerships are 'domestic terrorism.'
'The swarm of violent attacks on Tesla property is nothing short of domestic terrorism,' said Bondi. 'The Department of Justice has already charged several perpetrators with that in mind, including in cases that involve charges with five-year mandatory minimum sentences. We will continue investigations that impose severe consequences on those involved in these attacks, including those operating behind the scenes to coordinate and fund these crimes.'
'If you're going to touch a Tesla, go to a dealership, do anything, you better watch out because we're coming after you,' Bondi said Friday during an appearance on Fox Business.

As protests against his immigration policies balloon nationwide, President Donald Trump is seeing one of his favorite musicals on Wednesday night: 'Les Misérables,' the story of an anti-government uprising, abusive police and harsh imprisonment. Trump is going to opening night of the famous musical's one-month run at Washington, D.C.'s John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, whose entire board of trustees he replaced in February and had them name him chairman. 'We've seen it many times,' Trump said upon arriving at the Kennedy Center with first lady Melania Trump. 'Love it. One of my favorites.' When a reporter asked him which side of the musical's conflict he most identified with, Trump laughed and refused to answer. 'That's tough. You better answer that one, honey,' he said, gesturing to the first lady. 'I don't know.' When another reporter asked how he felt about reports that some of the 'Les Misérables' cast would be boycotting the night of his performance, Trump said he 'couldn't care less.' 'All I do is run the country well,' he retorted. Trump received a mixture of cheers and boos when he took his seat at the theater. His attendance comes after he deployed National Guard troops to face largely peaceful protesters in Los Angeles and announced he was sending in Marines, despite pushback from local leadership. 'Les Misérables,' the musical based on the 1862 novel of the same name, tells the story of French peasant Jean Valjean after he emerges from a 19-year prison sentence for stealing a loaf of bread for his niece. Much of the musical centers around student demonstrations against the French monarchy. One of the musical's most recognizable songs ― 'Do You Hear The People Sing?' ― has a long history as an anthem at pro-democracy demonstrations. It's also an apparent favorite of Trump's, as he played the song right before walking onstage to announce his third presidential run in 2022. Several drag performers also attended the show Wednesday night to protest Trump, who announced in February there would be 'NO MORE DRAG SHOWS, OR OTHER ANTI-AMERICAN PROPAGANDA' at the Kennedy Center going forward. They received applause as they walked in to the theater, social media videos show. Vagenesis, whose government name is Anderson Wells, was one of the planned attendees. 'Theater is supposed to be a place of community, a place of storytelling, a place of celebration, joy, catharsis and it should be open and available to all,' Vagenesis told NPR on Wednesday. Trump's former Vice President Mike Pence similarly caused a stir when he went to see 'Hamilton' shortly after winning the 2016 election. He was loudly booed when he arrived at the Manhattan theater. When Pence was trying to exit the theater after the final curtain call, actor Brandon Dixon, who was playing the part of Aaron Burr, asked him to stay and delivered a message to him. White House says 330 immigrants arrested in L.A. since Friday
The White House said on Wednesday that 330 immigrants have been arrested in Los Angeles since Friday. 'Since June 6, there have been 330 illegal aliens that have been arrested as part of these riots in Los Angeles,' White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said during a Wednesday briefing. 'One-hundred and thirteen of those illegal aliens had prior criminal convictions, she added. The Trump administration has taken a hardline stance on immigration during its first few months, with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests topping 100,000 under President Trump this year, per a White House spokesperson. 'There's been 157 people arrested for assault and obstruction-related charges,' Leavitt said during the Wednesday briefing. Trump deployed thousands of National Guard soldiers in Los Angeles over the weekend to quell expanding demonstrations in the city. Protestors were pushing back on local ICE raids that came amid the administration's crackdown on immigration. 'If our troops didn't go into Los Angeles, it would be burning to the ground right now, just like so much of their housing burned to the ground,' Trump said on Truth Social on Wednesday. On Wednesday, federal prosecutors announced charges against two men accused of possessing Molotov cocktails amid recent Los Angeles protests in response to immigration raids. You Can't Give Teslas Away These Days, but Tesla's Actually Trying To
Free car giveaways are typically associated with TV game shows, radio sweepstakes, or halftime contests, but right now there's one being hosted directly by an automaker. By participating in Tesla's 'TeslaVision' contest, you could score a brand-new Model Y and a private tour of the Texas Gigafactory. In 2017, Tesla held 'Project Loveday,' a video contest named after a 10-year-old fan of the brand who wrote a letter to CEO Elon Musk suggesting that customers submit promotional video clips to make up for the company's lack of traditional advertising. That contest received thousands of submissions and was eventually won by none other than YouTube superstar Marques Brownlee. The TeslaVision Contest Now, Tesla is holding the TeslaVision contest as a follow-up to Project Loveday. According to the company, it's here 'to commemorate launching deliveries of New Model Y in all continents where we operate.' That new Model Y is the so-called Juniper version, which arrived earlier this year sporting hardware updates, a remodeled interior, and a Cybertruck-esque headlight bar. So, the TeslaVision contest—it is, in Tesla's words, 'a global celebration and showcase of the owners and fans who have always recognized the true value and impact of our products.' To participate, submit a video no longer than 90 seconds 'showing how Tesla vehicles give you more in your life—more freedom, more safety, more fun, more convenience.' That video must then be posted to YouTube and shared on X and Instagram with Tesla's accounts tagged, and then those links uploaded in the contest submission form on Tesla's site. In addition to the Model Y winner, two runners-up will get an all-expenses-paid private tour of the Gigafactory outside of Austin, Texas, which produces some Model Ys and every Cybertruck. We Have Some Thoughts Acclaimed as America's best-selling EV, one might imagine that the Model Y is in such high demand that it wouldn't be so available as to be offered up as a giveaway. Evidently, however, Tesla has enough idle inventory to make one the grand prize in the TeslaVision contest. The EV innovator has faced harsh backlash due to CEO Musk's controversial involvement in Donald Trump's presidential administration. It's possible that the TeslaVision contest is being held to gather and then promote positive takes from Tesla fans who remain unbothered by Musk's drastic social impact, and are uninterested in the numerous other EVs from brands that don't have the contentious symbolism that Tesla now does, in addition to potentially longer range, faster charging, better quality, greater comfort, prettier styling, or higher performance. To wit, we question how a video could be created under Tesla's suggested parameters. Regarding 'freedom,' the advantage Tesla once held by keeping its widespread Supercharger network exclusive to its own cars is slipping away as other EVs gain access, allowing rivals to also enjoy road trip ease. Regarding safety, the 2025 Model Y scores the highest five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, as a plethora of other EVs do, but it no longer qualifies for IIHS Top Safety Pick as it did in years past. Furthermore, how Tesla's flagship Full Self-Driving (FSD) software has a propensity to make errors such as veering across a solid double yellow line into the oncoming lane of traffic makes safety seem tenuous at best. About fun, in our testing and assessments we've found Tesla vehicles don't have much to offer beyond the common EV attribute of quick straight-line acceleration, while rivals have superior chassis and handling refinement. To convenience, the spacious cabin, frunk and sub-trunk, and minimalistic layout found in Tesla vehicles contribute to that measure. However, the experience with MotorTrend 's 2023 Model Y long-term review car has often proved incredibly frustrating, such as the finicky flush-mounted exterior door handles, which often do nothing because the car doesn't recognize its smartphone app-based key, or how the cruise control can deactivate when using the windshield washers, or how, for now, using an adapter is necessary to charge on public Level 2 plugs. Hmm, maybe we wouldn't win this contest... positive thoughts! We should also point out the incongruity between asking fans and owners—many of whom likely already own a Model Y, given its ubiquity—to get excited about winning another one. If you're super excited about Tesla and want to show the company just how great you think it is and win a Model Y, you can submit your video clip to the TeslaVision contest website. Act soon, since the contest closes on July 17, 2025 or when 10,000 entries are received, whichever comes first.
