VIDEO: UAE, Jordanian planes drop 25 tonnes of aid over Gaza
"The Jordanian Armed Forces on Sunday carried out three air drops on the Gaza Strip carrying humanitarian and food aid, one of which was with the United Arab Emirates," the statement said, adding that they were carrying 25 tonnes of aid.
'Operation Chivalrous Knight 3'' has announced the resumption of the "Birds of Goodness" airdrop missions, with the 54th humanitarian and relief airdrop over the Gaza Strip.
The mission, carried out in cooperation with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, comes as part of the UAE's ongoing efforts to support civilians in isolated areas of the Strip that are inaccessible by land.
Since the launch of the "Birds of Goodness" initiative, a total of approximately 3,725 tonnes of food and relief supplies have been airdropped into Gaza using 193 aircraft. These supplies included essential food items and vital relief materials to meet the urgent needs of families affected by the dire and catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the Strip.

This initiative underscores the UAE's unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and delivering immediate assistance to the displaced and those affected, in line with the country's longstanding humanitarian policy. The UAE has been one of the leading countries in providing relief aid, with Emirati assistance accounting for over 44% of the total international aid that has reached the Strip.
The UAE affirms that supporting the Palestinian people will remain a humanitarian priority, and it will continue to coordinate with regional and international partners to ensure the delivery of aid through land, sea, and air routes to the areas in the greatest need.

UAE sends 38 aid trucks to Gaza through Rafah crossing
A convoy of Emirati humanitarian aid trucks has entered the Gaza Strip via the Rafah border crossing, as part of the UAE's ongoing 'Operation Chivalrous Knight 3' relief mission. The convoy included 38 trucks, with 18 carrying essential supplies such as food, medical aid and infant formula. The remaining 20 trucks delivered equipment for a new water pipeline that will connect a UAE-built desalination plant in Egypt to displacement zones in Gaza between Rafah and Khan Younis. The pipeline will span 7 km and produce 2 million gallons of water per day. This follows an earlier delivery of 25 trucks, bringing the total number of vehicles supporting the water infrastructure project to 45, with all necessary components now in place. Meanwhile, the UAE has resumed its 'Birds of Goodness' aid airdrop missions to provide critical relief to the people of Gaza.

Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority revives ‘mekhrafa' tradition through weaving workshops for UAE youth
29 July 2025 01:10 SARA ALZAABI (ABU DHABI)Young Emirati boys and girls have learnt the cherished tradition of weaving 'mekhrafa' in a special month-long programme organised by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority (ADHA) for the Nabdh Al Falah community hub. The 'mekhrafa' is a traditional Emirati basket handcrafted and woven from palm fronds. It is used to collect, carry, and present dates primarily during the harvest season. For the month of July, ADHA organised workshops that pass down this distinctive basket-weaving tradition from the seniors who know it by heart to the curious youth. ADHA's "Al Mekhrafa" programme for Nabdh Al Falah featured a line-up of engaging activities, from classic games to art sessions. Among the highlights are live demonstrations and hands-on workshops for palm frond weaving – walking participants through the making of 'mekhrafa'.At the studio, young visitors from 6 to 9 years old can explore palm-related heritage through art sessions. The programme revolves around the palm tree not only as a cultural treasure for Emirati society but as a source of daily sustenance. The remaining workshops will take place on July 29 and arts and crafts, there are educational lectures on palm farming, its environmental importance, and the date varieties found in the UAE. Family-friendly competitions are held, too. Nabdh Al Falah regularly holds programmes that bring the community together in activities designed to preserve Emirati heritage and strengthen national identity. Run by the Department of Community Development (DCD) in Abu Dhabi, the programmes are held in line with the goals of the Year of Community. The move comes as part of the leadership's vision to strengthen social cohesion, tighten bonds between generations, and create a sense of shared responsibility in the community. The ADHA's "Mekhrafa" programme was held in collaboration with DCD.
