In the race to establish themself as the leading light in consumer-focused artificial intelligence, every edge is a slight advantage to Google. Tucked away in the latest Android builds is Gemini Space, which is one such small advantage.
Discovering Gemini Space
Mishaal Rahmen uncovered details on the new experience during a deep dive into recent builds of Android.
It looks to build on the Android integration of Gemini AI into the At A Glance tools available to Pixel owners. Currently, At A Glance is available through the widely available Google app. The second is through the Pixel-exclusive At A Glance widget. The widget uses GeminiAI to surface contextual information across several services, including weather reports, travel updates, and event reminders.
Rahmen suggests that Google will add more features that will support a rebrand to Gemini Space. These include pulling data from financial sources and a user's favorite sports teams. Gemini Space pops up in the code that links these services into the Google App and the At A Glance widget.
The Impact Of Gemini Space
One of the interesting decisions here may be Google's increased use of Gemini in the package and presumably in the marketing. Many see artificial intelligence as the new battleground not just for a few more sales, but as a disruptive element on the level of the web browser, the search engine, and the mobile operating system. Whoever has the upper hand, who can define AI and shape public opinion, will be best placed to capitalise on that.
Google is part of that race (alongside companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Perplexity. The Gemini brand is highlighted as often as possible in the current marketing. Renaming At A Glance to Gemini Space unifies the experience on the Pixel handset, but also allows another mention of Gemini while illustrating what AI can achieve on a handset.
Gemini's Ability To Win The Space
With Apple falling behind in on-device artificial intelligence, at least in the way that Google is working hard to define the space, the upcoming launch of the Pixel 10 family, and the new Gemini labelled AI that will accompany it, should stretch Gogole's lead in the mobile race to be seen as the one true way to AI on mobile.

Toyota's Prices Are Going Up
In the market for a new Toyota? Better get to the dealership soon. Toyota will begin hiking prices for its vehicles by an average of $270 beginning in July. According to Automotive News , these latest price increases aren't in response to President Trump's 25-percent tariff on imported vehicles and auto parts. A company spokesperson said it's simply "part of our regular review of the prices." Lexus buyers won't be off the hook for additional costs, either. Prices for Toyota's luxury brand are expected to increase by an average of $208 beginning in July. Toyota & Tariffs Even though the company denies that these latest price hikes are in response to tariffs, in May, Toyota Motor North America Chief Operating Officer Mark Templin said that President Trump's plan would result in higher prices and more expensive repair bills. Templin stated: 'When it comes to tariffs on auto parts, it's important to understand the supply chains are global, they're complex, and they're very fragile. And many of the suppliers are not capitalized for an abrupt tariff. So levies on parts will negatively impact the automobile supply chain and lead to higher prices, lower vehicle sales, and will make servicing and repairing vehicles more expensive for customers.' That said, a report from Reuters suggests that Toyota is considering moving production of the newest RAV4 to the US, rather than importing from Canada and Japan. Toyota produced the outgoing RAV4 in Kentucky, Canada, and Japan, but could keep production of the next-generation model in Kentucky. The Toyota RAV4 was the best-selling SUV in the US last year and the fourth best-selling vehicle overall, with more than 475,000 units sold. Car Prices Are Going Up Toyota isn't the only automaker expected to raise prices this year. BMW has announced that it will start hiking prices in July in response to Trump's tariffs, with some models increasing by as much as $2,500. BMW did offer a temporary "price protect" program for the 2 Series and 3 Series models through April. Volkswagen also plans to increase prices in July after announcing pre-tariff pricing through June. The Jetta sedan and Taos SUV, which are both produced in Mexico, are expected to be hit hardest by price increases next month. Other brands like Ford, Subaru, and Volvo have already raised prices on their vehicles—some models by as much as $2,000. More on Tariffs Car Shipments to the US Have Fallen. Leak reveals Grok might soon edit your spreadsheets
Leaked code suggests xAI is developing an advanced file editor for Grok with spreadsheet support, signaling the company's push to compete with OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft by embedding AI copilots into productivity tools. 'You can talk to Grok and ask it to assist you at the same time you're editing the files!' writes reverse engineer Nima Owji, who leaked the finding. TechCrunch has reached out to xAI to confirm the findings and learn more. xAI hasn't explicitly detailed its strategy for pursuing interactive, multimodal AI workspaces, but it has dropped a series of announcements that point to how the company is thinking about these tools. In April 2025, xAI launched Grok Studio, a split-screen workspace that lets users collaborate with Grok on generating documents, code, reports, and browser games. It also launched the ability to create Workspaces that let you organize files and conversations in a single place. While OpenAI and Microsoft have similar tools, Google's Gemini Workspace for Sheets, Docs, and Gmail appears to be the most similar to what xAI is reportedly building. Google's tools can edit Docs and Sheets and allow you to chat with Gemini while looking at or editing documents. The difference is that Gemini Workspace only works within Google's own ecosystem. It's not clear what types of files xAI's editor might support aside from spreadsheets, or whether xAI plans to build a full productivity suite that could compete with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. If Owji's findings are true, the advanced editor would be a step towards Elon Musk's ambitions to turn X into an 'everything app' that includes docs, chat, payments, and social media. Which Death Stranding 2 Edition Should You Buy?
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will launch on June 26 exclusively for the PlayStation 5, but those who buy a special edition of the game can access it early. The question is, with three options available, which special edition version should you get? Death Stranding 2 is the sequel to legendary developer Hideo Kojima's 2019 game, and it improves on every aspect of the original, making it a title anyone remotely interested in it should play. The edition you decide to purchase will entirely depend on how much of a fan you are of the franchise. Now Playing: Unboxing the Death Stranding 2 PS5 Controller 00:45 Up first is the Standard Edition, which retails for $70. Ordering the Standard Edition of Death Stranding 2 from Sony comes with the same 48-hour early access that all editions have, which will begin at 12 a.m. ET on June 24 and 9 p.m. ET on June 23. Kojima Productions Included in this edition is some additional digital content: Quokka Hologram Battle Skeleton: Silver (LV1, LV2, LV3) Boost Skeleton: Silver (LV1, LV2, LV3) Bokka Skeleton: Silver (LV1, LV2, LV3) Holograms get unlocked the more you play through the game. These holograms can be placed at structures that the main character, Sam, builds as a little sign that you were there. Skeletons are equippable and help Sam physically while allowing him to carry more items. The Battle Skeleton lets Sam do more damage with physical attacks, the Boost Skeleton helps Sam run faster while carrying a lot of items and the Bokka Skeleton helps Sam climb up certain terrains while being more balanced, so he won't tip over. This content, however, is just a cosmetic color for the Skeleton. It will not unlock the item, as that has to be done by completing missions in the game. Next, there's the Digital Deluxe Edition for $80. Kojima Productions The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the 48-hour early access and the Skeleton cosmetics, although in this edition, it's gold and not silver. This edition also comes with: Machine Gun (MP Bullets) LV1 early unlock Quokka Patch Chiral Feline Patch Why Me? Patch The Machine Gun is a weapon you get later in the game, and it's powerful thanks to its large magazine filled with bullets. It can shoot for longer than the Assault Rifle found early in the game. MP Bullets are the standard type of bullets found in the game that can damage humans, BTs and robots. The patches are for Sam's backpack. They are strictly cosmetic and offer no in-game advantage. Then, for the big fans of Death Stranding, there's the Collector's Edition that costs $230. Kojima Productions The Collector's Edition comes with all the digital content from the Deluxe Edition in addition to some real-life collectibles in a collector's box. It includes: 15-inch Magellan Man Statue 3-inch Dollman figurine Art cards Letter from Hideo Kojima All of these editions are available to order now.
