PKR polls: Rafizi didn't clear out his office when he went on leave, says ex-aide
PETALING JAYA: Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli did not vacate his office when he took leave recently, says his former special officer Najib Bakar.
Refuting the allegations of PKR deputy presidential candidate Nurul Izzah Anwar, Najib said Rafizi never submitted any resignation letter as PKR deputy president or Economy Minister to the Prime Minister.

"I can confirm that Rafizi's office was never vacated while he was on leave (then). If you want to screenshot my status, you can do that too.
"Oh yes! The resignation letter (as minister and PKR deputy president) was never given to Anwar," he said in a Facebook post on Friday (May 23).
Previously, Nurul Izzah claimed that Rafizi's resignation letter and the vacating of his office prompted her to contest the deputy president's position in this weekend's central leadership elections.
Nurul Izzah had said on Facebook that she was at a conference in India when she received word that Rafizi was taking a leave of absence from his duties as Economy Minister and vacating his office in Putrajaya.

She said the matter raised concerns that Rafizi might not defend his position in PKR, adding to concerns about a potential leadership void.
Commenting further, Najib said Rafizi's office was only decorated in preparation for a Hari Raya event organised by the Economy Ministry on April 28, not cleared out as claimed.
"Actually, it's true, the minister's office was decorated, but in preparation for the Raya banquet on April 28," he added.

KOTA KINABALU (June 5): Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) may contest more than 13 seats in the upcoming state elections, said PKR Sabah chairman Datuk Ts Mustapha Sakmud. Mustapha clarified that the figure recently mentioned by PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar is not final and suggested that the party may field more candidates. He also revealed that the proposed lineup would include youth and women candidates. The Sepanggar Member of Parliament was speaking to reporters at the 'Tautan Kasih Madani' programme for the underprivileged community in Darau on Thursday.
