With WSL teams entering the competition in the fourth round, Chelsea started their campaign with a routine 4-0 win over Charlton at Kingsmeadow.
Mayra Ramirez and Guro Reiten struck in the first half to put the Blues in control against the Championship outfit before goals from Aggie Beever-Jones and Niamh Charles comfortably secured their spot in the next round.
An early scare saw Chelsea fall behind in the 17th minute as Sara Holmgaard put the Toffees ahead.
However, Sonia Bompastor's side responded as Catarina Macario slotted home from the penalty spot and Mayra Ramirez added a second just before the break.
Maika Hamano extended their advantage in the 71st minute before another spot-kick – this time converted by Sandy Baltimore – wrapped up the win.
Chelsea edged to a narrow victory over WSL strugglers Palace.
The game fell in the middle of a congested run of fixtures for the Blues in March and was their third match of eight that month.
Chelsea were left frustrated by a strong defensive performance from the Eagles, but Lauren James proved the difference by scoring the only goal of the game in the 64th minute.
Another closely-contested game followed as Chelsea needed a stoppage-time winner from Beever-Jones to book their spot in the final.
Bompastor's side dominated the opening stages and, although Liverpool took the lead in the 21st minute on the break through Olivia Smith's low finish, Erin Cuthbert levelled on the stroke of half-time.
Chelsea had multiple chances to score in the second half and, with the game seemingly destined for extra-time, Beever-Jones' late header sent her side to Wembley.

Jadon Sancho's stance on playing for Man Utd again after Chelsea's £5m decision
Jadon Sancho is facing an uncertain future in the summer transfer window after Chelsea's decision not to sign him permanently forced Manchester United to confront their previous mistakes Manchester United have been handed a serious problem after Chelsea refused to sign Jadon Sancho permanently, because he has no intention of ever playing for the club again. Sancho had appeared set to join the Blues permanently after spending the season on loan in west London, only for negotiations to break down. Chelsea ultimately decided they would rather pay United a £5million fee than go through with signing the winger for £25m. Sancho is paid around £300,000 per week by United and he and Chelsea had been unable to find a compromise on his wages, forcing a rethink for all parties. United are desperate to sell off their unwanted players in the summer transfer window, in order to help fund a rebuild under Ruben Amorim. Sancho had appeared to be the most straightforward deal, with Chelsea lumbered with an obligation to buy the 25-year-old, only for the move to break down. He has now joined the list of other unwanted players United must find buyers for, which also includes fellow loanees Marcus Rashford and Antony, and wantaway winger Alejandro Garnacho. Keeping Sancho for the 2025/26 campaign under Amorim is not a viable option, with ESPN reporting that he has no intention of pulling the United shirt on again. His stance matches that of Amorim, who doesn't want him in his squad when the next season begins. Sancho returned five goals and 10 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea, helping them win the Conference League – a solid if unspectacular effort which won't help their efforts to sell him. The report states that there is tentative interest from West Ham, although Sancho's wages will be problematic. He has another year left on his contract with United, who are reluctant to buy out the winger in order to grease the wheels of his exit. Sancho has been a flop of significant proportions since signing from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for £73m. He has just 12 goals and six assists in 83 games for United over four years and has not come close to matching the potential shown at Dortmund. HAVE YOUR SAY! What does the future hold for Jadon Sancho? Comment below. He was absolutely electric in Germany, where he managed 40 goals and 47 assists in 118 appearances for Dortmund, but has struggled to replicate that form in England. A potential move back to the Bundesliga was potentially on the cards with Bayer Leverkusen, until the club hired Erik ten Hag as manager to shut that door. Ten Hag fell out with Sancho over his apparent lack of effort in training at Carrington and it was the Dutchman who prompted his loan move back to Dortmund in January 2024. Newcastle move for £50m Chelsea transfer target after Bryan Mbeumo picks Man Utd
Newcastle have turned their attentions to signing Chelsea transfer target Joao Pedro after missing out on Manchester United-bound Bryan Mbeumo. Back in the Champions League after enjoying a strong end to their Premier League campaign, the Magpies are keen to bolster their squad, especially a forward line that remains heavily reliant on Alexander Isak. Eddie Howe had initially targeted Brentford's Cameroon international Mbeumo after he enjoyed a prolific campaign for the Bees. The 25-year-old is, however, intent on a move to Old Trafford with Ruben Amorim ready to make him the second signing of United's transfer window. Not deterred, Newcastle have swiftly turned their attention to Pedro who appears destined to leave Brighton this summer. The former Watford forward was on Chelsea's radar amid reports they were ready to table a £50million bid. Reports in Brazil even suggested Enzo Maresca wanted Pedro in place before the start of the upcoming Club World Cup. Chelsea now appear more focused on targeting Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike having confirmed the £30m arrival of Liam Delap earlier this week. That would leave the way clear for Newcastle to agree a fee with Brighton for Pedro and are said to want to double their money having spent £30m on him in the summer of 2023. Pedro has since reached double-figures for goals in his two seasons at the Amex Stadium, although was left out of the matchday squad at the end of the last campaign over a training ground clash. 'We dealt with it internally and the matter is closed,' said head coach Fabian Hurzeler. 'There are principles that are non-negotiable and count for everyone – that everyone has to stick to – where we don't make any compromises.' More Trending Brighton have already signed 19-year-old forward Stefanos Tzimas from Nuremberg for £20.8m having announced the deal back in Februray. The Greece Under-21 international has signed a contract until June 2030 but will remain in Germany with Nuremberg for the second half of the season. 'Stefanos is an exceptional young talent, an out-and-out centre-forward with a natural ability to score goals,' said Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler. 'He will join up with us in the summer, ahead of next season.' Bruno Fernandes has already named the striker who would be perfect for Man Utd
Manchester United's search for a striker is well underway with another option for Ruben Amorim emerging this week. With Matheus Cunha in the door and with Bryan Mbeumo close behind him, United have strengthened their attack with two players who hit 35 Premier League goals between them last season. But for a side who scored a measly 44 goals in 38 games last season with only Everton, Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Southampton scoring less, more reinforcements are needed. Rasmus Hojlund wretched second season at Old Trafford could spark a move away in the coming weeks with the Dane agreeing to a move to Inter Milan if a deal can be struck between the two clubs. United missed out on their first choice target Liam Delap who was drawn to Chelsea with Champions League football back on the menu at Stamford Bridge next season. Benjamin Sesko has also been on their radar but the Slovenian is now in talks to seal a move to Arsenal as their seek to solve their own well-documented issues up front. Developments with Sesko and Delap leave one of the summer transfer window's main players in a bit of limbo. Viktor Gyokeres, the man Amorim is desperate to be reunited with in Manchester, will leave Sporting CP this summer but with Arsenal and Chelsea looking elsewhere, United now may be his last remaining Premier League option despite no European football next season. The biggest obstacle will be the fee with Sporting expecting to bank £58million for their prized asset. A cheaper alternative emerged this week. In the wake of Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League triumph, Goncalo Ramos was offered to United by intermediaries. The Portugal international, who broke onto the scene with that stunning hat-trick in the 2022 World Cup against Switzerland, has never really imposed himself on the first-team in the French capital, playing a bit-part role under Luis Enrique since joining the club two years ago. United were among the sides vying for his signature in that summer of 2023 before landing on Hojlund. The striker had just finished the season with Benfica with a haul of 27 goals in all competitions with Bruno Fernandes not hiding how much he rated his young countryman. While on international duty in June 2023, Fernandes gushed over Ramos' ability and potential, believing him to an ideal fit for the Premier League, capable of becoming 'one of the best strikers in the world.' Fernandes noted Ramos' intensity and pressing ability as some of his key qualities that could make him a success at United – comments that might resonate further now given Amorim's set-up that calls for a hard-working no9. 'I think he has all the qualities to play in the Premier League, and when I say Premier League I also mean Manchester United,' Fernandes said. 'I think he could become a great reference in the coming years, but it's still not in my hands to be sports director.' He continued: 'Gonçalo has all the conditions to play in the Premier League, he is very intense, presses very well and is very good inside the area. 'He surprised me in the national team, not only me but the rest of my teammates. 'He's physically strong, he's still young and he's going to get better. 'If he continues to work as he has been doing, I think he has the potential to be one of the best strikers in the world, but he needs to go to a more competitive league to prove it.' Fernandes has form for heaping praise on his young compatriots with Joao Neves receiving similar treatment. More Trending The midfielder enjoyed a breakout campaign at Benfica during the 2023-24 season, effortlessly stepping in to replace Enzo Fernandez following his move to Chelsea. Later that year, despite interest from United, PSG won the race for his signature. Neves is now a Champions League winner, a vital component in perhaps the best midfield in the world and undoubtedly one of the game's best young talents. 'I don't know if United rumours are true, but I know he is ready for that big jump,' said Fernandes. 'He is an excellent player, he's with the National team. That's also why the big clubs are after him.' Fernandes was right on the money with his assessment of Neves – could Ramos be another?
