Katy Perry returns to Austin after 14 years with Moody Center show in May

Yahoo30-01-2025

Calling all KatyCats! The pop star will be performing at Moody Center on May 20. Austin is one of three Texas stops for the Lifetimes Tour, which has nine planned shows for its U.S. leg. Ticket pre-sales start Thursday at 10 a.m. and general sales begin at 10 a.m. on Friday.
This will be the first time back in Austin in 14 years for Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, aka Katy Perry. The 'Dark Horse' singer was last in town during her California Dreams Tour where she took the stage at the Frank Erwin Center in July 2011. Before that, she came for the South by Southwest Music Festival in 2008 and 2009. The Lifetimes Tour consists of 75 concerts that span across North and South America, Europe, and Australia. This is her first tour since her 'Witness' run seven years ago.
Katy Perry is starting the U.S. stretch of her international tour on May 7 in Houston in support of her seventh studio album '143' which was released in November 2024 through Capitol Records. The album's title '143' is the phrase 'I love you' represented by a letter count of each word. Perry also stated in an Apple Music interview that she chose the title '143' to reflect the 143 million records she has sold throughout her career.
With over 15,000 seats, Moody Center has become the go-to arena for popular touring artists since opening in 2022. Located on the University of Texas at Austin campus at 2001 Robert Dedman Drive, the venue gives you the option to pre-purchase a parking spot at one of five nearby parking garages ahead of the show: Manor Garage, Trinity Garage, Parking Garage B, State Garage G and State Garage R. The ADA drop-off and pick-up area is located northwest of the venue on Robert Dedman Drive. The box office is at the southwest corner of the arena.
There are two entrances, on the west and east sides of the building. Guests must pass through metal detectors and a bag search before entry.
At the end of the night, designated rideshare drop-off and pick-up is on Clyde Littlefield Drive. The roads surrounding Moody Center get congested after events, so expect a slow departure from the area, but hot dog vendors are often stationed outside if you're hungry for a late-night snack.
Moody Center permits clear bags that do not exceed 14″ x 14″ x 6″ or small clutch purses that do not exceed 5″ x 9″ x 1.5″ for their events. The venue prohibits recording equipment apart from smartphones. There is also no smoking permitted on the premises, including vapes. Find a full list of allowed and prohibited items at moodycenteratx.com.
There are two levels inside the arena, with entrance portals labeled to identify the section where you're seated. Upper-level seating is terraced and Moody Center does permit binoculars. Front-of-stage seating is also available for purchase, but the space is a standing area for some concerts. Premium suites are also available. The venue follows a 'no re-entry policy.' Guests who exit the building during an event will not be admitted back inside. However, if you need some air, there is a spacious balcony on the second level.
Inside the complex, you will find a variety of food and beverage options available for purchase from vendors, including pizza slices from Tony C's, brisket sandwiches from Stubb's Bar-B-Q, and ice cream cones from Mister Softee. Alcohol is also available for purchase. All transactions at Moody Center are completely cashless and prices tend to be steep. There are no water refill stations at the venue, but there are frequently water coolers outside on hot days.

Orlando Bloom Is Finally Done Hiding Struggles With Katy Perry And Feels 'Normal' Again

After months of quiet tension, Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry have officially gone their separate ways. While the split may not surprise insiders, Bloom's recent behavior suggests a man relieved to finally live on his own terms. The actor is in Venice, partaking in Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's wedding festivities and has enjoyed himself throughout. Bloom is reportedly embracing his return to self after enduring months of emotional strain in his relationship with Katy Perry. According to a source close to the actor, Bloom is feeling like his 'normal self' again. The couple had faced mounting tension, and, despite several make-or-break moments over the years, this time appears to be the final one. 'They had broken up before and in the following years things could get tense and to a point where it was often make or break, and they would choose to make up,' the insider revealed to the Daily Mail. 'But shortly after her Video Vanguard Award and performance in September, they started to disconnect more as she was getting ready to release music, go on tour and take the space flight.' After the holidays, things deteriorated even further. 'It was just one little thing after another,' the source added. The couple was last seen together in March at the Vanity Fair Oscars party, and weeks of rumors culminated in the confirmation of their breakup. Behind the scenes, Perry and Bloom had started drifting apart by the end of 2024. 'After the holidays and into the New Year, it became easier to live their individual lives instead of a life together,' the insider explained. While they've reconciled in the past, sources say there's no chance of another reunion. 'He isn't going to try to get her back. It's over and he has accepted it,' a source shared. Bloom and Perry got engaged on Valentine's Day in 2019 after first connecting over In-N-Out burgers in 2016. They welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, in 2020, and planned a wedding in Japan later that year. However, COVID-19 threw everything off course, and work commitments eventually overshadowed those plans. Bloom hinted at their struggles during an interview with Trevor Noah in April 2024. 'She definitely demands that I evolve and I feel I do the same for her,' he shared. 'That makes for fireworks, pardon the pun, but it also makes for a lot of fun and a lot of growth.' He added, 'I wouldn't change it for anything even when sometimes it feels like 'how do we do this', because we've got these two giant careers and lives and hers… it's like a universe sometimes.' Despite the breakup, both stars remain focused on their daughter Daisy. 'They are both relieved that they don't have to deal with a messy divorce as they both believe they can figure out how to handle co-parenting,' a source said. 'Right now they need their space, but they will both figure out what is best for Daisy.' Orlando Bloom has successfully co-parented before, with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, with whom he shares 14-year-old son Flynn. Kerr once described the "Lord of the Rings" star as a 'great dad,' and their split was notably amicable. In contrast, Katy Perry's previous marriage to Russell Brand ended abruptly, via text, minutes before she was set to perform on New Year's Eve in 2011. She later called Brand 'very controlling.' As Katy Perry continues her Lifetimes Tour in Australia, Orlando Bloom has been spotted enjoying himself in Venice at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's $20 million wedding celebration. The festivities have become a welcome distraction for Bloom, who reportedly feels a sense of relief now that he no longer has to 'hide' his relationship troubles. 'Bloom is not planning to lead a playboy lifestyle,' the insider said. 'He is happy to be out and about at Jeff's wedding. He just wants to live life. Be his normal self.' Still, the actor raised eyebrows after sharing a water taxi with a mystery brunette, having earlier greeted Kim Kardashian warmly and hung out with Tom Brady. Despite the speculation, sources close to Bloom insist he's not chasing headlines, just clarity.

Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom Have Reportedly Been Dropping Hints of Their Split Since February

After weeks of speculation, sources have confirmed that Katy Perry and her longtime partner Orlando Bloom have gone their separate ways after nine years together. But have they been dropping clues about their breakup for a while? According to People, the former couple started renting their $15 million home together in Montecito, Calif., back in February. And while that could mean that they just relocated to another home while still together, it's certainly a telling move given their home's history. More from SheKnows Katy Perry's Tearful Onstage Moment May Have Foreshadowed Trouble With Orlando Bloom For those who didn't follow the news at the time, Perry and Orlando were sued in 2020 by the home's former owner, 84-year-old veteran Carl Westcott, who claimed he was of 'unsound mind' when he sold his property to the couple. After a years-long legal battle, Perry and Bloom, who were adamant about wanting to raise their 4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove in the home, prevailed and officially took ownership of the home on May 17, 2024. But, from the looks of it, the pair presumably lived in the home with their daughter for less than a year before moving out. Prior to the news of their split, sources revealed to the Daily Mail about Bloom and Perry's latest disagreement. According to the outlet, their rough patch started after an 'explosive' fight about Perry's Blue Origin space flight, which happened on April 14 and was led by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos' soon-to-be wife, Lauren Sánchez. 'He told her the whole thing looked ridiculous,' a source close to Perry said. 'He said it was cringeworthy. Embarrassing.' For Perry, who has been under intense public scrutiny following the lukewarm reception to her album 143 and the underperforming Lifetimes tour, the criticism stung, especially coming from her longtime partner. 'Imagine going to space… and your partner isn't impressed,' the source added. 'Of course she was hurt.' Perry and Bloom were together on and off since 2016. Katy Perry's Tearful Onstage Moment May Have Foreshadowed Trouble With Orlando Bloom

While Katy Perry's romance troubles with former fiancé Orlando Bloom were rumored for months, the 40-year-old pop star might have been openly weeping about their demise while she was on tour. A newly resurfaced video on X from her Mexico City tour dates in late April shows an emotional moment while singing her 2010 single, 'Pearl.' (You can see the video clip here.) One look at her anguished face as she sang the lyric, 'I let him rule my world,' and fans just knew she was going through something. They may not have known it was directly related to Bloom, but the pain resonated throughout the arena. More from SheKnows Orlando Bloom Seemingly Cozied Up to Someone Close to the Royal Family During Jeff Bezos' Wedding She continued with the song, 'But I woke up and grew strong, and I can still go on and no one can take my pearl.' That foreshadowing moment on The Lifetimes Tour may have hinted that there was trouble on the horizon between the couple. Their relationship appeared to be rocked by her Blue Origin space flight on April 14. Even though Bloom was in attendance to support Perry with their four-year-old daughter Daisy, he reportedly didn't approve of her short jaunt to space. 'He told her the whole thing looked ridiculous,' an insider told the Daily Mail. 'He said it was cringeworthy. Embarrassing. Imagine going to space… and your partner isn't impressed. Of course, she was hurt.' The Mexico City tour dates began only nine days after the Blue Origin trip, so it seems that her emotions were running high. Despite rumors of a possible reconciliation, it looks like Perry and Bloom are done for now. He attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's Venice wedding alone on June 27 while Perry is enjoying tour dates in Australia. TMZ was the first to report their split on June 24 and People confirmed that the former dynamic duo went their separate ways on June 26. Their love story began in 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty and continued in an on-again, off-again fashion for years until their Valentine's Day engagement in 2019. Perry gushed about her relationship with Bloom in September 2024 during an interview on Apple Music with Zane Lowe. 'He's a real sage. We both have parts of ourselves. There's two parts of us, our highest good, and then our carnal, material self. Ego,' Perry said. 'When the ego is running the show, then it's like, 'Whoa.' But when that's in check, then we're both something else.'Best of SheKnows 60 Times Emma Stone's Timeless Red Carpet Fashion Looks Took Our Breath Away 39 Times Actresses Totally Transformed For a Role: See Side-by-Side Photos Jeff Bezos & Lauren Sánchez's Full Relationship Timeline
