Katy Perry fans point out strange coincidence in splits with Orlando and Russell

Fans of the pop singer are pointing out a strange coincidence between her publicised splits with fiancé and baby daddy Orlando Bloom and ex-husband Russell Brand. With speculations reaching fever pitch in recent weeks about a split between longtime fiancés Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, fans can't help but notice a strange coincidence. The gossip mill has been abuzz with rumours about an alleged split between pop star Katy Perry and her partner of nine years, actor Orlando Bloom. ‌ Unnamed sources recently shed light on the couple's split, telling Us Weekly: 'Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable. It's not contentious at the moment. Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.' ‌ The insider revealed that their split had been "a long time coming" as the atmosphere between them "have been tense for months." The source further suggested Katy is currently "distracted" and "keeping busy" on tour, and it's believed she's been living separately from Orlando for several months while performing in various countries. Now, fans are pointing out the coincidence between Katy's split with her baby daddy and her very publicised split with ex-husband, Russell Brand, who allegedly dumped her over text message before she was due to perform on stage. Taking to social media, fans have pointed out that Katy was on her California Dreams Tour when her split with Russell was confirmed, and now, as the singer jet sets across the globe on her Lifetimes Tour, she has once again called it quits with another partner. While one fan took to X (previously Twitter) and wrote: 'POV: Jealous men who break up with Katy Perry in the middle of a world tour.' Another concerned fan said: 'Katy Perry facing another breakup in the middle of tour I'm genuinely concerned for her.' ‌ A third X user pointed out multiple instances where touring caused turmoil in the hitmaker's life, writing: 'World tours being a CURSE for Katy Perry's personal life: 1) California Dreams Tour- divorce on a phone call 2) Prismatic World Tour- Katy Perry / John Mayer spilt 3) Witness World Tour - Orlando bloom cheated on Katy with Selena Gomez 4) Lifetimes Tour - Katy Perry / Orlando Bloom split (rumour)' While a fourth said: 'If I had a nickel for every time Katy Perry split up with her husband while on tour I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice right.' Another X user shared: 'Russell Brand broke up with her on her last show of California Dreams Tour, while Orlando Bloom on her first show of the lifetimes tour allegedly. Men are awful and useless, Katy Perry you deserve better and we love you!' ‌ And one fan extended their love and said: 'The fact that this is the second time Katy's gone through a major breakup during a worldwide tour is heart breaking. She doesn't deserve this, we love you Katy.' While another added: 'A divorce every time she tours.. Katy girl stop touring.' ‌ Speaking about Katy and Orlando's split, a different source told Us Weekly in June: "They have been spending more and more time apart. They've grown apart and aren't living the same lives anymore." While another insider told the news outlet: "It's an unspoken thing that they are having issues and have for a while now. Everyone around them knows." Orlando Bloom recently made his first appearance as a single man post-breakup at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding festivities. The Pirates of the Caribbean actor was allegedly seen cosying up to a "mystery woman", as celebrations kicked off to mark the billionaire's impending nuptials. This isn't the first time the high-profile duo has reportedly parted ways. Katy and Orlando, who initially got together in 2016, called it quits in 2017. They rekindled their romance in 2018 and announced their engagement the following year. That same year, they also decided to cohabit. The couple welcomed their little girl, Daisy Dove, into the world in August 2020.

Katy Perry returns to Austin after 14 years with Moody Center show in May

Calling all KatyCats! The pop star will be performing at Moody Center on May 20. Austin is one of three Texas stops for the Lifetimes Tour, which has nine planned shows for its U.S. leg. Ticket pre-sales start Thursday at 10 a.m. and general sales begin at 10 a.m. on Friday. This will be the first time back in Austin in 14 years for Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, aka Katy Perry. The 'Dark Horse' singer was last in town during her California Dreams Tour where she took the stage at the Frank Erwin Center in July 2011. Before that, she came for the South by Southwest Music Festival in 2008 and 2009. The Lifetimes Tour consists of 75 concerts that span across North and South America, Europe, and Australia. This is her first tour since her 'Witness' run seven years ago. Katy Perry is starting the U.S. stretch of her international tour on May 7 in Houston in support of her seventh studio album '143' which was released in November 2024 through Capitol Records. The album's title '143' is the phrase 'I love you' represented by a letter count of each word. Perry also stated in an Apple Music interview that she chose the title '143' to reflect the 143 million records she has sold throughout her career. With over 15,000 seats, Moody Center has become the go-to arena for popular touring artists since opening in 2022. Located on the University of Texas at Austin campus at 2001 Robert Dedman Drive, the venue gives you the option to pre-purchase a parking spot at one of five nearby parking garages ahead of the show: Manor Garage, Trinity Garage, Parking Garage B, State Garage G and State Garage R. The ADA drop-off and pick-up area is located northwest of the venue on Robert Dedman Drive. The box office is at the southwest corner of the arena. There are two entrances, on the west and east sides of the building. Guests must pass through metal detectors and a bag search before entry. At the end of the night, designated rideshare drop-off and pick-up is on Clyde Littlefield Drive. The roads surrounding Moody Center get congested after events, so expect a slow departure from the area, but hot dog vendors are often stationed outside if you're hungry for a late-night snack. Moody Center permits clear bags that do not exceed 14″ x 14″ x 6″ or small clutch purses that do not exceed 5″ x 9″ x 1.5″ for their events. The venue prohibits recording equipment apart from smartphones. There is also no smoking permitted on the premises, including vapes. Find a full list of allowed and prohibited items at There are two levels inside the arena, with entrance portals labeled to identify the section where you're seated. Upper-level seating is terraced and Moody Center does permit binoculars. Front-of-stage seating is also available for purchase, but the space is a standing area for some concerts. Premium suites are also available. The venue follows a 'no re-entry policy.' Guests who exit the building during an event will not be admitted back inside. However, if you need some air, there is a spacious balcony on the second level. Inside the complex, you will find a variety of food and beverage options available for purchase from vendors, including pizza slices from Tony C's, brisket sandwiches from Stubb's Bar-B-Q, and ice cream cones from Mister Softee. Alcohol is also available for purchase. All transactions at Moody Center are completely cashless and prices tend to be steep. There are no water refill stations at the venue, but there are frequently water coolers outside on hot days. Want more Austin entertainment and lifestyle news?
