Fibre2Fashion28-05-2025
ADNOC announced that its partners across its supply chain commit to invest AED3 billion ($817 million) in manufacturing facilities across the UAE. The announcement was made at the 'Make it in the Emirates' forum currently underway in Abu Dhabi.
ADNOC and its partners will invest AED3 billion (~$817 million) in UAE manufacturing facilities, creating 3,500+ skilled jobs. Backed by ADNOC's ICV program, the projects support the 'Make it in the Emirates' initiative and include sites across major industrial zones. The move aligns with ADNOC's plan to locally produce AED90 billion (~$24.52 billion) in goods by 2030.
The facilities are located across Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD), Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), Dubai Industrial Park, Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone) and Umm Al Quwain. They will create more than 3,500 highly skilled private sector jobs and manufacture a wide range of industrial products including pressure vessels, pipe coatings and fasteners.
The facilities have been enabled by commercial agreements ADNOC signed with the companies under its In-Country Value (ICV) program. The ICV program is providing a platform for businesses to capitalize on ADNOC's diverse commercial opportunities as it delivers on its plan to locally manufacture AED90 billion ($24.5 billion) worth of products in its procurement pipeline by 2030.
Yaser Saeed Almazrouei, ADNOC Executive Director, People, Commercial and Corporate Support, said: 'We welcome our partners' commitment to advancing local manufacturing through their investments in these state-of-the-art facilities which will strengthen the UAE's industrial base and create highly skilled private sector jobs. These investments reflect ADNOC's ongoing drive to support the 'Make it in the Emirates' initiative and localize strategic industrial capabilities through our In-Country Value program. We look forward to working with our partners to ensure business continuity and unlock further opportunities for sustainable growth and economic diversification.'
The facilities include newly operational sites, major expansions and investment commitments. The state-of-the art facilities are aligned with ADNOC's current and future procurement requirements, underscoring its support for the 'Make it in the Emirates' initiative.
The announcement builds on the success of ADNOC's ICV program, which has driven AED242 billion back into the UAE economy and enabled 17,000 jobs for UAE Nationals in the private sector since 2018. Manufacturers, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs are encouraged to explore the 'Make it with ADNOC' app, which provides businesses with visibility into the products ADNOC plans to purchase, offering a more streamlined and integrated procurement process. Four firms to build India's first satellite constellation

A private consortium will build India's first indigenous commercial Earth Observation (EO) satellite network, a fillip for the domestic private space sector that is expected to slash the country's reliance on foreign players. Over the next five years, the consortium will invest more than ₹ 1,200 crore to launch the EO satellite constellation. (Getty Images via AFP/Representational photo) On Tuesday, the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe), under the department of space, announced that Bengaluru space technology company PixxelSpace India, along with Piersight Space, Satsure Analytics India, and Dhruva Space will design, build, and operate 12 state-of-the-art EO satellites under a public-private partnership (EO-PPP) model. Over the next five years, the consortium will invest more than ₹1,200 crore to launch the EO satellite constellation, which will fit a raft of use-cases, from monitoring the climate crisis, aiding disaster management, to planning agriculture, infrastructure, marine surveillance, national security, and urban planning. In-SPACe, an interface between ISRO and non-governmental entities, said the EO constellation will be deployed in phases over the next four years to ensure continuous service upgrades and expanded coverage. 'Once operational, it will be among the most advanced EO systems in the world, designed, built, and operated entirely in India by Indian talent,' IN-SPACe said in a media statement. The development of indigenous EO satellites that will generate high-resolution, indigenous satellite data reduce India's reliance on foreign sources and ensure data sovereignty. IN-SPACe chairperson Pawan Goenka said, 'It demonstrates the capability and confidence of Indian companies to lead large-scale, technologically advanced, and commercially viable space missions that serve both national and global markets.' The Centre's target is to boost India's space economy from $8.4 billion in 2022 to $44 billion by 2033. Under the PPP framework, the Indian government will provide strategic, technical, and policy support, while the PixxelSpace India-led consortium will own and operate the EO system, including satellite manufacturing, launches from Indian soil, ground infrastructure, and commercialisation of data services, read the media statement. With advanced remote sensing techniques and a radar system (Synthetic Aperture Radar or SAR) that can map high-resolution images of the Earth's surface, the satellite network will deliver data that is analysed for precision agriculture, water quality monitoring, land-use mapping, environmental compliance, disaster assessment, and infrastructure development. IN-SPACe shortlisted three consortiums — Astra Microwave Products from Hyderabad (with Bharat Electronics Limited, Sisir Radar and Spectragaze Systems) GalaxEye Space from Bengaluru (with CoreEL) and PixxelSpace India from Bengaluru (with Piersight Space, Satsure Analytics India, and Dhruva Space). Pixxel CEO Awais Ahmed said, 'This win is a testament to India's vision for a vibrant space economy. From here, we aim to deliver insights from space that improve life on Earth for generations to come.' Piersight co-founder and CEO Gaurav Seth said SAR makes the constellation operational throughout the day, all-year-round in all weather conditions. 'Our role is to deliver radar-first, analysis-ready products with low latency, so agencies and enterprises get alerts and evidence, not just raw data,' he said.

Ahmedabad spacetech firm joins consortium for indigenous satellites

1 2 Ahmedabad: India's first fully indigenous commercial earth observation (EO) satellite constellation is taking shape, and Ahmedabad is playing a starring role. PierSight Space, a spacetech firm from the city, has joined a four-member private consortium selected by Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe), under the department of space, to build and operate the network. The Rs 1,200 crore project, under a pioneering public-private partnership (EO-PPP) model, will deploy 12 satellites equipped with synthetic aperture radar (SAR) for round-the-clock imaging in all weather. The consortium is led by PixxelSpace India and also includes Satsure Analytics India and Dhruva Space. Officials of IN-SPACe, headquartered in Ahmedabad, said that for the first time in India's space history, a private grouping will fund, design, build, and operate such a system, with the constellation expected to be launched over the next five years. The resulting EO data will serve critical sectors including climate change monitoring, disaster management, agriculture, infrastructure, marine surveillance, national security, and urban planning, said experts. Gaurav Seth, co-founder and CEO of PierSight, said their primary task will be to develop SAR technology, which allows Earth observation round the clock, in all weather conditions. "This programme ensures that India's critical sectors will no longer have to wait for foreign data or compromise on timelines. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Your Finger Shape Says a Lot About Your Personality, Read Now Tips and Tricks Undo Our constellation will put sovereign EO capabilities into the hands of Indian decision-makers, ensuring security, speed, and self-sufficiency," he said.
