Inter striker Taremi stranded in Iran amid conflict: club
Taremi was in Iran last week on international duty, scoring in a 3-0 victory over North Korea in a World Cup qualifying game.
However the 32-year-old was unable to get a flight to join his Inter team-mates in Los Angeles due to the ongoing confrontation between Iran and Israel.
An Inter source confirmed to AFP that Taremi was stranded in his homeland.
Inter open their Club World Cup campaign against Mexican side Monterrey on Tuesday at the Pasadena Rose Bowl east of Los Angeles.
The opener marks the first game in charge of new Inter coach Cristian Chivu, who was named on Monday as the successor to Simone Inzaghi, who left following the club's 5-0 drubbing against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
Speaking at an introductory press conference at the team base in Beverly Hills on Saturday, Chivu said Inter were ready to bounce back from the double disappointment of just missing out on the Serie A title as well as the Champions League final.
The 44-year-old former Romanian international said Inter could look back on the season with pride.
"We should't forget this team's journey -- it was a great season," Chivu said.
"This team has great quality. They got right to the end but they didn't get the trophies. It wasn't a failure of a season.
"We knocked out Bayern and Barca in the Champions League. We were top of the league, one of the best in Europe, for a long time. So we cannot forget this. Failure doesn't exist in football. Failure is making excuses."

Gattuso named new Italy coach
The 47-year-old was part of the 2006 World Cup-winning side and won 73 caps for the national team as a player. The Italian football federation (FIGC) said Gattuso would be presented to the media on Thursday. "Gattuso is a symbol of Italian football," said FIGC president Gabriele Gravina. "The blue shirt is like a second skin for him. His motivation, his professionalism and his experience will be essential. "(He is) Aware of the importance of the objective we want to achieve. I thank him for the total dedication with which he has accepted this challenge." Four-time champions Italy have failed to qualify for the past two World Cups and started their bid to reach next year's tournament in North America with a 3-0 loss to Norway last week. Gattuso is an experienced coach and was last in charge of Croatian club Hajduk Split, helping them qualify for next season's UEFA Conference League. His other former clubs include AC Milan, for whom he made 468 appearances as a player, Napoli, Valencia and Marseille. New-look Man City crave winning feeling at Club World Cup
For the first time in eight years, City ended the domestic campaign without a major trophy as Pep Guardiola's men surrendered the Premier League crown to Liverpool after an unprecedented four consecutive titles. A Champions League exit before the last 16 for the first time since 2012/13 and a shock FA Cup final defeat against Crystal Palace compounded a miserable season for a club that has grown used to success since an Abu Dhabi-backed takeover 17 years ago. At one time the month-long expanded Club World Cup, sandwiched between two gruelling seasons, was the last thing Guardiola or his players appeared to want. Ballon d'Or winner Rodri hinted back in September that a players' strike was "close" over fixture congestion. Defender Manuel Akanji more recently said the City squad was "not exactly overjoyed" at playing in the tournament given the limited rest time. However, City are keen to turn the page from last season and begin afresh with major changes in the squad and coaching staff. Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Marcus Bettinelli were all signed last week to beat the deadline to feature in the Club World Cup from the start. City also spent more than £172 million in January on Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Nico Gonzalez. Adding Claudio Echeverri, who arrived in Manchester in January at the end of a loan spell at River Plate, nine of Guardiola's 27-man squad for the tournament have been at City for less than six months.
