A body has been found in the search for missing dad.
Brandon Parfitt, 28, was reported missing on Sunday evening. The dad, from Ebbw Vale in Wales, had a newborn son less than two months old.
Officers say formal identification of the body is yet to take place - however, Brandon's heartbroken family have been notified.
As reported by the Mirror, police also said their "thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time".
In a statement on Tuesday evening, a spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "We received a call that the body of a man had been found in Pontygof, Ebbw Vale, on Tuesday 19 August.
"Formal identification has yet to take place, however, the family of Brandon Parfitt, have been notified."
Brandon's brother Tristan Parfitt and their other siblings had been actively leading a search on social media and said they were becoming increasingly worried for his welfare. Brandon had last been seen in Market Street in Ebbw Vale, Wales on Sunday.
It comes as the mum of missing student Jack O'Sullivan has launched a fresh appeal to find him after he "went out for a drink with friends and didn't come home" 18 months ago.
Jack, then 23, was last seen at 3.15am on Saturday, March 2, 2024, after a night out at a party in Bristol.
Multiple searches and a high-profile campaign have failed to produce a lead, his family say, and they are "no closer" to finding out what happened to him since the day he disappeared. His mother Catherine O'Sullivan, 53, of Flax Bourton, near Bristol, issued a renewed plea.
She shared a photo of him and added: "This is my son Jack - He is the most wonderful son, brother, and friend to many. He's a really kind and caring person who always puts others first.
"It's approaching 18 months since he was last at home with us. Eighteen months of absolute hell and unimaginable pain without Jack in our lives.
"This has been covered by many news and social media outlets.
"After a total disaster of an investigation by the police we still have absolutely no answers. We know someone out there knows what has happened to Jack."

Jack is described as 5ft 10in and slim build and has short brown hair, and was wearing a Barbour jacket over a beige wool jumper, with navy chinos and brown leather trainers when he went missing.
He'd been on a night out with student friends to the pub before he attended a house party in Hotwells, Bristol.
He told his mum he was getting a taxi home around 2am, before leaving the party at around 3am. CCTV footage shows Jack walking around for 30 minutes.
At 3.24am he called a friend and, when they rang back 10 minutes later, Jack said "hello" before the call cut out, but officers say his phone remained active in the area until 6.44am.

Scots chemical firm fined £100k after young worker left scarred for life A chemical company has been fined £100,000 after a catalogue of safety failings left a young worker with life-changing burns at a plant in Motherwell. The 23-year-old was left permanently scarred by the incident, which happened while he was working for Dundas Chemical Company (Mosspark) Limited at its Omoa Works site in Newarthill. The site is a rendering plant where animal and food industry waste is processed into proteins, fats and oils used in the oleochemical, fuel and feed industries. According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the worker had been instructed to clean a water tank used in the rendering process, along with a "vickery" and the walls and floors in the area. The company provided power washers and a steam hose, which the man and a colleague took turns to use before the colleague moved on to other duties. Continuing on alone, the 23-year-old went up on a cherry picker with the steam hose attached to its basket. However, once he was at the required height the steam hose and nozzle "spun round", pumping steam into the basket directly at him. He quickly turned his back while "manipulating" the nozzle away from him and lowering the basket, and ran through to a "deluge shower" as soon as he was at ground level to cool his burn injuries. He was taken to hospital with steam burns to several parts of his body, which have left him permanently scarred. The company was fined £100,000 at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, having pleaded guilty to a breach of health and safety legislation. An HSE investigation found a "catalogue of failures" were to blame for the incident. These included the steam hose nozzle being unsafe because it did not have a "trigger or other mechanism" for starting and stopping the flow of steam at the point of operation. Supervisors at the site had also been aware of problems with the mixing valve and set-up for supplying hot water for cleaning, but took no action to investigate or resolve the issue. The inspectors also found the maintenance and engineering team had "no sound engineering understanding" of the risks when setting up this kind of washdown system, and how to mitigate or control them. HSE inspector Ashley Fallis said: "Had a safe system of work been in place then this incident would not have happened. "The lack of appropriate risk assessment, method statements, training and supervision for both the maintenance team who installed the valve, and the operators tasked with using the system, led to a situation where those involved were unaware of risks or simple control measures. Mum survives horror shooting by ex after making repeated calls to police
Eileen Gibbons was shot in the stomach by her ex in a horror domestic attack at their home. A woman who was shot by her ex-partner in a terrifying domestic violence attack had called police five times before the ordeal, an inquest has heard. Eileen Gibbons, from Mayo, Ireland was shot in the stomach by Ralph Donald at a home in Millner, Darwin, Australia, in October 2023. Donald then took his own life in the front yard of the house. Miraculously, Ms Gibbons survived the attack, reports the Irish Mirror. The inquest is examining the circumstances surrounding Donald's death and the warnings police received before the tragedy. Officers were called five times in the six months leading up to the shooting, after reports that Donald was stalking Ms Gibbons, locking her inside his house, and preventing her from leaving. "Things were getting out of hand and I was crying out to the police," she said. The inquest also heard that Donald himself, as well as his brother, made reports during arguments with Ms Gibbons. While Northern Territory police followed up on the calls and offered support, they failed to spot the warning signs of escalating danger. One officer involved in Ms Gibbons' case in 2023, who cannot be named due to a suppression order, admitted he did not identify immediate red flags. He told the court that because there was no prior history of physical violence, a domestic violence order could not be applied at the time. However, he added that after completing Prevent, Assist, Respond (PARt) training on coercive control, he now recognised the signs and would have acted differently in hindsight. In the weeks before the attack, Donald, 35, had reportedly been "spiralling" following the couple's breakup, feeling "isolated and distressed". Ms Gibbons said Donald, a heavy drinker with anger issues, had become increasingly controlling and "toxic," including locking her in the house, but he had never been physically violent before. The court heard that on the evening of October 3, 2023, Ms Gibbons went to Donald's home to collect items for their 11-month-old daughter. Donald appeared in the front yard with a rifle and shot her in the stomach before turning the weapon on himself. "He got approximately two metres from her and said, 'do you want to die?' while holding up the firearm," Dr Dwyer said. Fearing for her life, Ms Gibbons tried to flee but fell to the ground. Donald's mother had been in the garden watering plants, and his brother Charles ran out after hearing the gunshot, standing between Donald and Ms Gibbons during the shooting. Ms Gibbons gave evidence via video link from Ireland. She moved to Australia in her 20s and met Donald in 2019 while working as a case worker at the Salvation Army. Donald had joined a programme to tackle his alcohol problem, and a relationship developed after she left the job. Ms Gibbons told the court the attraction was immediate and she quickly requested to be taken off his case. Soon after she left the job, they started a relationship. Ms Gibbons told the court there had been red flags from the beginning, but after their baby was born in 2022, the relationship took a turn. "It was toxic," she said. "He was quite stressed… he didn't have coping skills." The coroner heard Donald was working as a tyre fitter and was beginning an apprenticeship at the time of his death. However, Ms Gibbons said the couple were under significant financial stress, with their mortgage having risen three times, and that things "really escalated in the last year". The inquest is expected to last five days.
