Marcus Rashford sends three-word message to transfer suitors after club decision

Daily Mirrora day ago

Marcus Rashford spent the end of last season on loan at Aston Villa before picking up an injury and is now in the shop window as an exit from Manchester United is expected
Marcus Rashford appears to have announced his return to fitness ahead of a summer transfer away from Manchester United. The Red Devils' academy product is expected to depart Old Trafford in the coming weeks.
Rashford fell out of favour at United following the arrival of Ruben Amorim and was unable to even make matchday squads before moving on loan to Aston Villa. The 27-year-old's performances in the Midlands earned him a place in Thomas Tuchel's England squad as he found some positive momentum.

The forward saw his season end prematurely due to injury and now is reminding potential suitors of his availability as he puts in work on the training ground. Rashford missed the final month of the season with a hamstring injury.

But the striker has shown his progress conducting drills on Wednesday evening. Rashford has shared a video of himself doing a 'high knees' exercise on the grass.
Tellingly, Rashford captioned the clip: "Feeling good again," accompanied with a broad smile emoji. That marks a positive signal to anyone interested in his signature, with little chance of Rashford being welcomed back by Amorim.
Villa held an option to sign him permanently for £40million but they're now unlikely to trigger that clause, with Rashford's ambition to move to a Champions League club. A switch to Barcelona is said to be his preference with the Catalan club also interested in the move.
Rashford's agent and brother, Dwaine Maynard, was seen meeting with Deco in Catalunya. There has yet to be a formal move from the La Liga giants however.
Former Porto and Chelsea midfielder Deco has admitted that his side are interested in reinforcing their forward line. 'In attack, it will depend on what we can do in the market. But perhaps it is the only sector in which we identify that one or another player is missing." he told Globoesporte.

Rashford may be required to be patient for any prospective move to Camp Nou. The United attacker and Liverpool's Luis Diaz are both of interest but Barcelona's priority is currently tying down their current players.
"We have been focusing on renewing contracts, after that, we'll discuss players to come," he told BBC Sport. "Of course, these two players, like you mentioned, they are good but have contracts in their clubs, so we won't speak because it's not fair.
"But when you decide to go to the market, for sure, we find some names. In my opinion, we don't need to bring many players. When I speak with the agents of the players, everyone wants to come or stay. So this is important. The image of the club is still good. We are proud because Barcelona is still such a big club, and the way we are playing football makes players want to come."

Gabriel Magalhaes urges Arsenal to pursue summer move for Real Madrid 'phenomenon' Rodrygo as Brazil team-mate's future remains uncertain

Arsenal should step up their attempts to sign Real Madrid star Rodrygo this summer, according to his Brazil team-mate Gabriel Magalhaes. Rodrygo has emerged as a top target for the Gunners, who are looking to add firepower to a team that has finished second in the Premier League three seasons running. A new striker is the priority but a versatile attacking player is also wanted by manager Mikel Arteta. Rodrygo put big clubs across Europe on alert when he reportedly told Madrid he never wanted to play for them again having refused to feature in last month's El Clasico against Barcelona. The Brazilian winger was said to be upset about playing a secondary role behind superstar team-mates Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham, and was increasingly warming the bench under Carlo Ancelotti last season. Los Blancos would demand a significant fee if they are to part ways with Rodrygo, believed to be somewhere in the region of £70m. And Gabriel thinks his compatriot would be more than worth the money for the gunners. 'I don't know,' he responded when asked by the Podpah Podcast if Rodrygo would be arriving at the Emirates this summer. 'But I'd like obviously. He's a phenomenon. 'I've told people already, he's a phenomenon! If it was up to me, of course!' Rodrygo has developed into an integral player for Madrid since joining from Brazilian side Santos for €45million (£37.9m) in 2019. The forward, who has also won 33 caps for Brazil, may have a lower profile than fellow attackers Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jnr, yet he still has a hugely impressive record at the Bernabeu.

Bradley Barcola and PSG respond to Liverpool interest in £100m transfer

Bradley Barcola is not interested in a move to Liverpool this summer with Paris Saint-Germain adamant he is not for sale. The 22-year-old enjoyed a sensational campaign in the French capital, helping the club finally clinch the Champions League with a wonderful return of 21 goals and 19 assists during the 2024-25 campaign. With PSG boasting perhaps the most exciting forward line in European football, Barcola was competing with Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for a starting berth with one of that quartet usually left on the bench. Barcola was the unlucky man in the Champions League final against Inter earlier this month, still coming off the bench to grab an assist. While there has been no indication he is unhappy with the situation in Paris, reports have claimed Liverpool will look to tempt him to Merseyside in a £100million deal once they have wrapped up a deal for Florian Wirtz. The France international is also on Bayern Munich's radar with the German champions eager to freshen up their wide options. Both clubs are set to be disappointed, however. Foot Mercato report PSG have ruled out any possibility of Barcola leaving the club this summer with the youngster considered integral to the team by head coach Luis Enrique. Barcola is also eager to remain at PSG with both parties 'sharing the desire to continue the adventure together'. While Liverpool are making a sizeable investment in bringing Wirtz to the club for what will be a record Premier League fee, their summer transfer window is unlikely to end there. More Trending Another attacking option is being considered with Luis Diaz also thought to be eager to leave to join Barcelona. Liverpool are keen on an ambitious move for Newcastle United star Alexander Isak, who Newcastle United value at over £150million. Arsenal have already thrown in the towel in their pursuit of the Swede with that price tag surely placing him out of Liverpool's reach too. Darwin Nunez is available for transfer and expected to leave, while Liverpool will also consider bids for Diogo Jota.
