Usher has announced he's bringing his musical 'Confessions' to Australia as part of his global tour, performing multiple dates in two cities.
The multi-platinum, eight-time Grammy winner kicked off his Past Present Future Tour in Washington D.C. in August last year, and has since taken it across the US, Europe and the UK.
The show is described by Usher as 'a celebration of the past 30 years and a glimpse into the future', and includes an epic 47-song setlist of his greatest hits, including U Got It Bad, How U Remind Me, Burn and Yeah.
After a stint overseas, Aussie fans will soon have the opportunity to see him for themselves – but only in two major cities.
The show will start its Aussie leg in Melbourne on the 19th, 20th, 22nd and 23rd of November at the Rod Laver Arena, before moving to Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th of December.
Tickets will go on sale starting with an artist presale on May 12, with general onsale beginning Friday, May 16 on UsherWorld.com.
Usher – full name Usher Raymond IV – took a brief break from his tour to perform at the Met Gala earlier this week, taking the stage at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC alongside Stevie Wonder.
Vogue reports that the set was introduced with a poetry reading from Gala co-chair Colman Domingo, and that Usher performed Yeah, U Don't Have To Call and OMG.

Fans shocked by Sabrina Carpenter's ‘degrading' new album cover

Barely a week after she surprised fans with the release of a brand new single, Manchild, Sabrina Carpenter has delivered another bit of unexpected news: Her next studio album will be released in only a couple of months' time. But, according to some of her fanbase, the album cover is the real shocker. Carpenter announced today that her seventh (!) studio album Man's Best Friend will be released on August 29. She revealed the album cover on social media: A striking photo of Carpenter on her knees, in a short dress and heels, pawing at the leg of a man standing over her. He's pulling on Carpenter's blonde hair like a leash. Amid the fan excitement to be getting a new album from the star only 12 months after the release of her chart-topping record Short N' Sweet, there's also a discernible amount of shock: This is the album cover? One fan under Carpenter's Instagram post labelled the image 'embarrassing,' others calling it 'disgusting' and 'degrading.' 'Girl is this a humiliation ritual,' one person asked. 'This pic is so embarrassing pick a new shtick,' another complained. 'I dont wanna see no man dragging you around by your hair mother please get up,' begged another. Others even suggested to Carpenter that it wasn't too late to change the cover, one fan writing: 'Hey can we get a new cover that doesn't suck? Feels very against the powerful busy woman character that you built up …' Carpenter's certainly striking while the iron is hot, dropping her next album hot on the heels of breakthrough record Short n' Sweet, which still sits at number three on the ARIA charts almost a year after its release. 26-year-old Carpenter released her debut single way back in 2014, and while she achieved a few minor hits along the way, it wasn't until last year's world-conquering hit Espresso that she finally hit pop's big leagues, a full decade into her career. That song is still charting inside the ARIA top 30, 60 weeks on from its debut. Since then, she's stacked up a slew of multi-platinum singles in a very short period: Please Please Please, Taste, Bed Chem and latest release Manchild, which is expected to debut at or near the top of the charts in most major markets later this week.

World's biggest TikTok star, Khaby Lame, detained by US, told to leave

Immigration officials in the US have confirmed they detained and then told one of the world's biggest TikTok stars to leave the country because he 'overstayed the terms of his visa'. Khaby Lame, who has more than 160 million followers on the social media site, voluntarily left the US on Friday, it's been reported. The 25-year-old Senegalese-Italian became famous for his comedy skills and parody of ridiculous 'life hacks' offered up online, and in May was a guest at New York's Met Gala. 'US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained Seringe Khabane Lame, 25, a citizen of Italy, (on) June 6, at the Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas, Nevada for immigration violations,' ICE said in a statement to America's National Public Radio (NPR). ICE said Lame entered the country legally on April 30 but stayed there beyond his visa limits. 'Lame was granted voluntary departure June 6 and has since departed the US,' the statement read. ESTA authorisation for the US, which many people travel on, lasts for up to two years but has a number of work restrictions. P visas, which performers can obtain, often last only for the duration of an event or project which the person is completing. Authorities did not say what visa Lame was on. By departing voluntarily, he should face fewer hurdles upon returning to the US in future. However, NBC has reported that Sharks Celebrities Management, which represents Lame, said the ICE statement was 'fake news' and the star had not been in the US this month. The agency added that the 'name mentioned is not his birth name'. The Lame incident went viral after political activist Bo Loudon claimed he personally reported Lame to immigration authorities and alleged that the TikToker was being held at the Henderson Detention Centre in Nevada. Lame, whose social media accounts are filled with humorous clips and videos of his globetrotting exploits, has yet to publicly discuss the incident. Although born in West Africa, Lame has spent the majority of his life in Italy, where he joined TikTok during the pandemic out of boredom before his meteoric rise.
