Yahoo09-06-2025
9 Jun - It was revealed that Iwata Takanori will no longer be a part of EXILE.
The singer, who has been with the group since 2014, announced the news on social media on 6 June, saying that he has been deliberating about balancing his time what with his increasing workload throughout the years.
"After a long period of thinking, I finally decided that I will focus on the third generation of J SOUL BROTHERS in the future," he said. "I will continue to be an artist under LDH and will take my work in various fields seriously as the third-generation J SOUL BROTHERS, an actor, and as an individual."
Saying that EXILE had been his youth and dreams, Iwata stressed that being a member of the group was something he took pride in.
"I will sincerely carry out activities to repay the fans who have supported me as a performer of EXILE for 11 years," he added.
The singer will also not be a part of EXILE's upcoming tour, "The Reason".

Chance The Rapper takes it back to 2016 with new album announcement

Six summers ago, Chance The Rapper released an album detailing how much he loved his wife. Since then, the rapper has maintained a much lower profile than he did in the mid-2010s, probably in large part because that generally well-received album, The Big Day, was meme'd to the point that Chance said it felt like 'people want me to kill myself.' But even if it felt like he had retreated, Chance never really stopped putting out singles in the first half of the 2020s, and now, he's ready to put out his first full-length project since 2019. Star Line, the rapper's second album and fifth major body of work, is out next month. Chance confirmed the news on Instagram today, sharing the album art and writing simply 'For my fans.' Fans will likely find the album art familiar; the painting comes from the artist Brandon Breaux, who created the album art for his acclaimed mixtapes 10 Day and Acid Rap and his mainstream breakthrough Coloring Book. The Big Day, which, in 2019, was technically his debut album, features art from Sara Shakeel instead. The choice to tap Breaux again—and the painted, semi-psychedelic image—suggests that Chance remembers what works, and wants to tap back into some of that mid-2010s sauce that proved so successful. Chance The Rapper/Instagram Earlier in July, Chance released 'Tree,' featuring Lil Wayne and Smino, as the lead single for Star Line. The upbeat, almost Tin Pan Alley-sounding track is exploring how frustrating it can be to live in a country run by and set up to benefit white people, and how he enjoys smoking weed. You can check out the music video for that below—Star Line is out on August 15. More from A.V. 10 Best Fake Songs From Fake Movie Bands

This summer has seen some pretty catchy needle drops in movies, from Superman's Mighty Crabjoys to KPop Demon Hunters flash mob fandoms for Huntr/x and the Saja Boys. The latter Netflix release has reached not only Billboard music charts but also become the most streamed animated feature ever. With that in mind, we look back at our favorite fake bands' best songs of the past 30 years. While half the list includes incredible recent music from hit movies, the other half (and our number one slot) nod at the songs that really propelled this particular niche in movies—think A Goofy Movie. So, if you notice some of your favorites missing, simmer down because we excluded musicals and kept to genre movies that had original songs featured in them. Like Superman, we can't help but think this song is for the cool kids. No matter how hard we tried, we could not get 'Try Everything' out of our heads, and Gazelle (voiced by Shakira) might be back in Zootopia 2. Finally, the full single from Freaky Friday has been released for Freakier Friday sung by Pink Slip's in-universe lead singer Christina Vidal Mitchell. Josie and the Pussycats was such an underrated gem when it came out but was formative for millennials. We know there are so many songs, and it was hard to narrow it to one, so we went with 'Three Small Words' (featuring Kay Hanley as the voice of lead singer Josie), which encompasses the moment in time this movie embodies for a generation. Sammie (Miles Caton) in the Sinners universe went on to become a blues legend, but the night that changed his life was when he first performed 'I Lied to You.' The scene is hands down one of Ryan Coogler's masterpieces, and the music sizzles off the celluloid fever dream… just watch. It took a few years, but the Envy Adams (Brie Larson) on-screen performance of the Clash at Demonhead's 'Black Sheep' was finally released on Spotify and other platforms to enjoy. We love Metric's version, but the angst in the movie version is top tier. The Billie Eilish and Finneas-produced songs from Pixar's Turning Red are all so good. This one was also hard to narrow down, but the chorus of 'Nobody Like U' is never not on my mind. The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack also has too many killer songs from each band to pick from. While I particularly love 'Soda Pop,' we have to give the Saja Boys props for 'Your Idol' for charting on Billboard. In 'Golden,' we get lyricist Ejae's heart and soul shining through. The powerful anthem is coming for 'Let It Go''s crown in replayability among young animation fans. Powerline is the blueprint, the O.G. of modern fake music pop stars thanks to A Goofy Movie. Vocalist Tevin Campbell made an icon so scene-stealing we're still waiting for a full Powerline album 30 years later… or at least a sequel with more fake music to dance to. Want more io9 news?
