Dons-mad runner celebrates Scottish Cup win with fitness app sheep design
A north-east man has commemorated Aberdeen's Scottish Cup triumph over Celtic by creating a Dons-themed work of art with his fitness app.
Stuart Marr, 41, from Westhill, has been drawing pictures across the parks and pitches of Aberdeen for the past five years with the help of Strava.
And the keen Dons fan wanted to celebrate as the club ended their 35-year Scottish Cup trophy drought.
He did so by 'drawing' a sheep posing with the cup and the letters 'AFC' while on his 5km run at the city's Hazlehead Park today.
In the past, Stuart's Strava designs have included an elf, a guitar-playing Christmas tree and Santa getting stuck in the chimney.
The bus driver's work prevented him from getting to the game on Saturday.
But he used his latest run to celebrate the momentous moment.
'I still can't believe it,' the lifelong Dons fan said of his side's 4-2 penalty shootout win over Scottish Cup holders Celtic.
Stuart was inspired not only by the win, but by Sunday's open top bus trophy parade in the city centre.
Between 80,000 and 100,000 people took to the streets to celebrate with the players.
Stuart told The Press and Journal: 'There was a great buzz to the city yesterday.'
The dad-of-one has been a dedicated runner for the past 25 years.
His fitness app has become an increasingly important part of his outings.
He created a kilted man to mark Scotland's participation in Euro 2020.
And he drew a head with a brain for World Mental Health Day through Strava.
One of the most eye-catching designs depicted the Covid virus being jabbed by a vaccination needle.
He drew that one back in 2021 while on a 44 minute, 7.57km run around the pitches at Sheddocksley.
Stuart hopes the next Scottish Cup celebration for the Dons is not 35 years in the making.
Or even 11 years, which was the club's trophy drought prior to winning on Saturday.
'It'd like to say a big thank you to the players and the Aberdeen team,' Stuart said.
'But I hope we don't wait too long for another one.'

Reece James lifts the lid on Thomas Tuchel relationship after England recall
Chelsea defender Reece James is delighted that Thomas Tuchel is in charge of England and is looking forward to playing a key role in the World Cup 2026 campaign For a relatively seasoned Chelsea player, it is an occupational inevitability that you have worked with a fair few managers. And having made his club debut in October, 2019, that applies to Reece James. In the 25-year-old full-back's case, it is five, to be precise. Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino and Enzo Maresca. And while he will not publicly declare his preference, there is no doubt James would have Tuchel at the top of his pecking order. Why wouldn't he? During Tuchel's 21-month period in charge at Stamford Bridge, James made 74 appearances, scoring seven goals and making 12 assists. 'We have a good relationship,' smiled James, who was pictured with the England manager at a birthday party for former Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia earlier this year. 'We won titles together and that obviously helps build a strong relationship. And fighting his way back from injury, James thought he might have had a chance of making the cut for World Cup 2022. Gareth Southgate, though, decided not to risk him. 'I was in the squad for 2021 but didn't play so often but I learnt a lot and we got all the way to the end,' James said. 'But then watching the World Cup was very difficult. "I wasn't selected, I was coming back from injury and it is always tough to watch, knowing you are not there. I'm excited for the future and I hope to be involved in the next major competition.' If he stays fit, there is little doubt that Tuchel will take James to World Cup 2026, having brought his former Chelsea favourite back into the England set-up and been rewarded with a goal in the 3-0 qualifying win over Latvia at Wembley. It was a moment James cherished, even though it did not look that way at the time. He explained: 'To be honest, from where I was, it didn't look like it was going in, which is why there was no celebration. It was an amazing feeling to score my first (England) goal. "It was something I've been waiting for for a long time. To be back in the England fold is an amazing feeling.' James and Maresca appeared to have their issues in the early stages of last season with the Chelsea manager saying he expected more leadership from the defender. But the captain's armband certainly seemed a more comfortable fit in the second half of the campaign as James played a pivotal role in securing a Champions League slot and lifting the UEFA Conference League trophy. Asked about his leadership, James - who confirmed he prefers to play at right-back rather than in a midfield role sometimes given to him by Maresca - responded: 'I think towards the end of the season, it may have gotten evidential. At the end of the season, there was more to fight for, there was more on the line. "There was Champions League qualification, there was a trophy. I'd like to think I am growing in that aspect.'

Club legend Colin Cameron ousted as Raith Rovers appoint Andy Kirk as Barry Robson's new assistant
Assistant-manager Colin Cameron has left Raith Rovers to be replaced by Andy Kirk. Cameron has been ousted as part of a changes to Barry Robson's backroom staff at Stark's Park this summer. The 52-year-old started his playing career at Raith before leaving his hometown team in 1996 for a move to Hearts. The midfielder had subsequent spells with Wolves, Coventry City and Dundee before moving into management at Cowdenbeath. And he then returned to his first club in 2022 as number two to Ian Murray, who he had worked with for a short spell at Airdrie. He survived a change in manager at Rovers last season when Murray was sacked and replaced by Neill Collins. With Collins then being replaced by Barry Robson in December, Cameron saw out the season as part of the ex-Aberdeen manager's backroom team. A hall of fame member from his playing career, he has been a popular figure with the first-team squad through all the changes. However, it has been decided to shake up Robson's staff for next term and the former Scotland internationalist has fallen victim to the changes. A statement read: 'After three seasons as assistant manager, Rovers legend 'Micky' Cameron is now set to move on. 'We'd like to say a huge thank you to Micky for his contributions during his time in the dugout and wish him all the best in his next chapter.' As revealed by Courier Sport, Andy Kirk is the man Raith have turned to as replacement for Cameron. Kirk has been been removed from his role as St Johnstone assistant-manager, with boss Simo Valakari keen to move in a different direction and get his own men in following relegation from the Premiership. Kirk was taken to McDiarmid Park as Craig Levein's number two following a spell coaching at Hearts and stints as manager of Hearts Women and Brechin City. The former Northern Ireland internationalist spent five years as a player with rivals Dunfermline but has built a growing reputation as a coach since hanging up his boots in 2014. A Raith statement said: 'Raith Rovers Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Kirk as the club's new assistant-manager. 'As Barry Robson continues to build his squad, Andy was identified as a key figure he wanted to add to his backroom staff.'
