Turkey most expensive country to purchase an iPhone..... India position is at.... | Complete List
Are you also trying to buy a latest generation Pro model iPhone for its attractive features and camera quality, but have a problem with the not so unattractive price tag it comes with? We have got you!
The iPhone 16 Pro packs a lot of new features and is the most powerful phone Apple offers. The new model comes with an A18 Pro chip, which can easily run on-device AI features, a newer camera, a bigger display, increased battery life, and a completely new capture button, which makes taking photos and videos easier than ever. The phone also comes up with many photo and video editing options, unavailable in previous models. This combined with the newer Pro generation processor makes it one of the most powerful smartphones on the planet.
Sounds exciting? Here is the amount you would have to pay for one in these countries
If you are visiting turkey and planning on to get a new iPhone in Turkey, then be ready to pay a hefty price tag, as it tops the list with one setting you back $2,182 USD. Turkey is followed by Brazil ($1,835 USD), and Egypt ($1,525 USD). The top three countries where iPhone is the most expensive are quite unexpected.
But you will be shocked to know that India holds the 4th place in the list. An iPhone 16 Pro would cost you around $1,401 USD! This is due to the heavy import duties, costs of middlemen and the higher cost of manufacturing in India rather than China. The phone is also priced at a high price so it can be sold as a premium product.
The list is followed by Denmark, Norway, Finland, Portugal, Poland, Italy, Hungary, Belgium, Netherlands etc. respectively, where the device costs between $1300 and $1400 USD.
Want it for less? Here is where you can go
The iPhone 16 pro base variant costs around $1,279 USD in the United Kingdom, which is followed by Singapore ($1,199 USD), Dubai ($1,145 USD), Hong Kong ($1,095 USD), and finally Canada ($1,044 USD).
But this is still not the cheapest, as you can get it for just $977 USD in the U.S.A., the home country of Apple.
What to keep in mind before purchasing iPhone 16 pro? All of these prices are of the base variant of the iPhone 16 pro
This list is based according to the prices that were unveiled at the launch of the device, and prices at the time of this article being published must have been changed.
Another thing to be kept in mind is that when purchasing the device from another country, you may lose out on a feature or two, as the device would be made according to the country's laws where it is being sold. For eg: The iPhones in the U.S.A. do not come with a physical sim slot and only have e-sim, which the buyer must keep that in mind.

India-Russia oil trade: Rs 5.9 lakh crore trade at risk after US' ultimatum, if Trump cuts India off from Russian oil, Putin may hit back with...

Putin is true friend of India due to..., it helped at every step in making of..... but what is China connection? India is the world's third-largest oil importer and since 2022, it has become the top buyer of Russian oil. India buys up to 2 million barrels of oil from Russia every day. That's about 2 per cent of the world's total oil supply. China and Turkey are also among the biggest buyers of Russian oil. Putin may hit back by shutting down the CPC pipeline According to experts at JP Morgan, India plays a very important role in Russia's oil export plans. If anything disrupts this path, Russia could strike back by shutting down the CPC pipeline that runs through Kazakhstan. This pipeline is important because major US oil companies like Chevron and Exxon have big stakes in it. So, Russia also has ways to put pressure on the West. Meanwhile, Donald Trump has warned that if Russia doesn't agree to a peace deal with Ukraine by August 7–9, he will impose up to 100 per cent tariffs on countries that continue buying Russian oil. On top of that, a 25 per cent tariff on all Indian goods entering the US has already come into effect starting this Friday. Rs. 5.9 lakh crore trade at risk According to a Reuters report, after Donald Trump's warning, Indian state-run oil companies have stopped buying Russian oil this week. If India gives in to US pressure and stops buying oil from Russia, the impact will not just be on Russia, it could shake the entire global oil market. Crude oil prices might rise above USD 80 per barrel worldwide. India and Russia have always shared a strong bond. In the financial year 2024–25, the trade between the two countries reached USD 68.7 billion i.e. nearly Rs. 5.9 lakh crore. That's about 5.8 times more than the trade before the COVID-19 pandemic. A big part of this trade is crude oil. Russia now supplies around 40 per cent of all the oil India needs. But the partnership between India and Russia is not just about oil. It also includes defence and nuclear energy. India buys many of its military weapons from Russia, and both countries are working together to build nuclear reactors. Now, Trump's pressure could weaken this strong partnership. If things go wrong, it may harm India's energy security and defence strength. India caught between two powerful partners India is facing a tough situation. On one side, it has deep and long-standing ties with Russia. On the other, it has important trade relations with the United States. Now, all of this has come down to a difficult choice involving USD 68 billion (around Rs. 5.9 lakh crore) in trade. Trump has even warned of tariffs as high as 500 per cent on countries that continue buying oil from Russia. This is like a sword hanging over India's head. Indian High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami made it clear that the country cannot shut down its economy just to follow Western sanctions. He also pointed out that European countries are still trading with Russia, so it's unfair to expect India to stop completely.

Apple's tariff-fueled iPhone sales surge raises doubts about sustainability

Apple's best revenue growth in three years failed to impress, with shares down about 1% in volatile trading on Friday, as investors questioned whether a tariff-driven surge in iPhone sales would last. A rush to buy iPhones ahead of potential U.S. tariff-driven price increases, along with China subsidies and upbeat demand for the budget 16e model launched in February, fueled a 13.5% jump in the quarterly sales of the device, crushing expectations. That pushed up total revenue by a better-than-expected 10% in the April-June period, and Apple issued an above-estimate sales forecast for the current quarter ending in September. The results came at a precarious time for the company long seen as Big Tech's safest bet. Beyond the tariff threats facing its manufacturing hubs China and India, Apple has been slow to move on artificial intelligence technology that its software and devices rivals have embraced as their next big growth driver. Analysts said the sales rebound in China, where local rivals have moved faster than Apple on AI features, was a positive. The company benefited in the world's largest smartphone market from a state subsidy program meant to prop up device sales. But they also warned the 'pull-in' boost was expected to be temporary, raising doubts about demand for the rest of the year. 'Pull-forward, remember, is not a U.S. issue. It's also a China issue. There, Apple's Pro model iPhones were too expensive to qualify for Chinese government subsidies that were being offered … so they cut prices to qualify, leaning into the volume opportunity. It worked,' MoffettNathanson analysts said. 'But as with the U.S., what does that mean for the rest of the year?' So far this year, Apple stock has underperformed all its 'Magnificent Seven' peers barring Tesla, with a decline of more than 17%. The S&P has risen 7.8% in the period Many of Apple's products are currently exempt from tariffs, and the company has also been rebalancing its supply chain to shield itself from the duties, sourcing iPhones from India and other products such as Macs and Apple Watches from Vietnam. The U.S. is currently negotiating trade deals with both China and India, with U.S. President Donald Trump saying India could face 25% tariffs as early as Friday. Apple said tariffs would raise costs by $1.1 billion in the current quarter after the company said it took an $800 million hit from tariffs in the third quarter. Its AI strategy also remains a concern after Apple delayed the release of an AI-enhanced version of Siri virtual assistant and was slow to launch Apple Intelligence. CEO Tim Cook said on Thursday the company was making good progress on Siri and that Apple is 'significantly growing' its investments in AI. 'Brand loyalty gives Apple time to get the AI transition right, but it needs to start delivering,' said Matt Britzman, senior equity analyst, Hargreaves Lansdown.
