THERE are two words frazzled parents dread hearing during the long summer holiday break: 'I'm bored'.
But luckily a brand new £500,000 attraction has opened in the nick of time and will hopefully entertain youngsters.

Little-known Scots theme park Brechin Castle Centre has come to the rescue of mums and dads with a fantastic new playzone.
I was invited to sample the new Dragontale Castle with my seven-year-old son Joel and my wife Lyndsay.
The excitement started in the car when my son spotted the imposing 32-foot high structure as we drove towards the centre.
He was amazed by the dragon's wings bursting out of the side and couldn't wait to get there.
And as soon as we got inside he was off and desperate to tackle the new castle.
Within seconds he had scrambled to the top and was running along the rope bridges.
He got to play at being a king by sitting on the throne. And absolutely loved spinning the wheel of wonder, which dishes out fairytale tasks.
One minute he had to act as a knight on the obstacle course while dad had to head to the wizard's library.
There are telescopes in the towers and talking tubes so youngsters can send messages to each other from opposite ends of the site.
Alongside that there are two slides, which kids never seem to get bored whizzing down.

There was a challenge to try and work out which was faster.
The two trampolines and swings add to the fun.
We were there on a sunny day and despite it being packed it never felt overly busy because it's so big.
A delighted Joel told me: 'I'm sure I've dreamed about this place.'

Hours flashed by as we lapped up the incredible new castle. The crowds of kids all seemed to be as enchanted as my little one.
Guests are free to bring their own food and drink and eat it outside at one of the many park benches. There is also a cafe.
But the castle is not all there is try out and there are a host of other attractions on offer.
The fairy trail is a treat for kids of all ages, as they pretend to be shrunk to the size of a butterfly and dodge a troll.
Crazy golf was a hit with us as were the go-karts and the fast sledges.
While the confusing maze went down a storm with Joel as he tried to make it to the flagpole in the middle.
There are also zip slides, a foot golf course and massive jumping cushions to help drain off any final reserves of energy.
We were all happy but tired after a day at Brechin Castle Centre that passed far too fast.
And as we drove past Dragontale Castle on the way home Joel was determined to book in another visit sooner rather than later.
Beware because instead of 'I'm bored' we're now hearing: 'When can we go back to the dragon castle?'
Brechin Castle Centre is roughly half an hour from Dundee.
It's open seven days a week, from 9am to 5pm. Dragontale Castle is included in the price of admission.

Shaun Ryder predicts Oasis will blow away Scottish fans with best shows ever
The Happy Mondays and Black Grape frontman, 62, has made the prediction despite narrowly missing out on either of his bands being chosen as support on the Oasis Live '25 tour. Shaun Ryder has predicted Oasis will blow away their Scottish fans with their best shows ever. The Happy Mondays and Black Grape frontman, 62, has made the prediction despite narrowly missing out on either of his bands being chosen as support on the Oasis Live '25 tour. Ryder, who attended three of the five Oasis shows at Manchester's Heaton Park last week, says they are sounding better than anyone could have hoped for and will blow the roof off Murrayfield stadium. He said: 'Our manager Alan McGee thought that we should be on the bill for the Oasis tour, but Noel left it to 'Our Kid' who wanted Cast and Richard Ashcroft. 'Cast are brilliant, Richard's brilliant, so that's how it is. Still, I saw Oasis play three nights at Heaton Park and my missus went with the girls three times. Oasis were brilliant. 'Liam is back. His voice is sounding great. His singing is great. He's a proper frontman. It's a tight band. Oasis are sounding better than ever. 'It's a great show. What I saw in Manchester was just brilliant. I don't think anyone has a bad word about the shows. Before people were saying it would be cabaret, but it isn't. It's just really good.' Ryder, who was part of a Madchester scene that helped inspire Oasis to form back in the early 1990s. He also revealed he introduced Noel Gallagher to another of his idols, Scots singer Donovan, who is the grandfather of his daughter Oriole. Ryder said: 'I knew Noel back in the day and I introduced Liam to Donovan when Donovan didn't know who he was. 'I know it happened. I can just about remember it. I was off my nut doing a lot of Temazepam at the time and eating eggs like they were going out of fashion.' Oasis will play in front of over 200,000 fans across the three shows on Friday, Saturday and Tuesday at Murrayfield before finishing up the UK and Ireland leg of their reunion tour in Dublin. Meanwhile, Ryder is bringing Black Grape to Scotland to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the band's classic debut album It's Great When You're Straight… Yeah. Looking ahead to the shows, the former heroin and crack cocaine addict says his memory of previous trips north of the border is sketchy at best. He said: 'In the early days, we had a bigger following in Scotland than in Salford. 'But I don't really remember much because the first few years of coming to Scotland, I spent more time wandering around various council estates trying to score some gear than I did playing gigs.' He also has limited recall of recording It's Great When You're Straight… Yeah. The band will perform the classic 1995 album at Glasgow's QMU on November 28, which the band will perform at Glasgow's QMU on November 28. Ryder said: 'I know we recorded it. I know where we recorded it and that we even ended up in Great Yarmouth at one point because there's a photo of us at the amusement arcade on the inner sleeve. I'm pretty sure it was Great Yarmouth. 'We were in America as well. They put us in a mansion in Los Angeles, It had eight luxurious bedrooms, but Bez and I ended up in a wardrobe smoking crack.' After several spells in rehab, Ryder has since given up drug use. The father-of-six added: 'I knocked it all on the head at 40 and I'm 63 in a few days. I still have a beer, but I've not touched smack or crack cocaine in 20 years. 'I'd got to 40 and my kids were just getting older. 'It took about five to six years to sort of get that out of my head, but I'm happy with how things are.' Looking ahead to the QMU date, he added: 'Playing at Glasgow Barrowland in the early days was an experience, and I got punched on the head by one of the bouncers supporting New Order in Scotland with the Happy Mondays. 'Their singer Bernard was always nice to us, but Hooky (bassist, Peter Hook) was a bit of a twat because he thought we were going to rob everything. 'He always had his side eye on. Admittedly, we were nipping into his dressing room and stealing his beer. We got a clip around the ear for that. 'I know we did T in the Park with Black Grape, but I can't remember anything about it other than the fact that Kermit came onstage in a wheelchair. 'You wouldn't see that nowadays with a lot of these young artists. They get a cold, and they cancel the tour. 'You'd have to be on your way to A&E dying for us not to do a show. We did shows in all sorts of conditions.' His career hasn't been without controversy. Happy Mondays' vocalist Rowetta, who left the group in December 2024, recently complained about the conditions during her time with the band. In a series of social media posts earlier this year, she alleged Ryder punched her, knocked her out and left her with 'a black eye' in 2000 on the way to a music festival. Ryder said: 'It was 20 years ago. As far as I'm concerned, it's done and dusted. We all went through solicitors, and I'm not supposed to speak about it. It was 20-odd years ago and there are reasons why it happened, but I've never denied anything. 'She has now been replaced. Now we have Bez's wife and it's all happy families. The band has a big smile on their face and there's no stress.'

EastEnders' Joel branded a ‘disgusting little pervert' as Ross makes a discovery
Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) has finally flipped over Joel's (Max Murray) disgusting behaviour in EastEnders. It became immediately clear when the father and son arrived in Walford alongside Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) earlier this year that they were hiding a fair few skeletons in their closet. They couldn't return to their home in Australia, as Joel had upskirted a pupil in his class, and Ross had paid her family $50,000 in exchange for their silence. He's since enacted havoc on the residents of Albert Square, impregnating Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) and introducing new mate Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) to dangerous adult content online. Later, Joel showed Tommy videos made by a disgusting influencer, who degrades women. Joel thought this was an appropriate way to talk about the opposite sex, branding his own mum a 'slapper', talking about how she abandoned him as a child. He also sexually assaulted a passenger on the London Underground in an utterly vile move, with Vicki paying off the victim. Earlier this week, Joel discovered some big news about his estranged mother Cleo, that left him reeling. Other than Joel's derogatory comments about his mum, we don't know an awful lot about her. She contacted Ross to inform him that she was remarrying, and despite us finally finding out her name, fans are still convinced that she is none other than Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan), using a pseudonym. This was fuelled by him yelling: 'Well, you ain't my mum, you don't get to tell me what to do!' during a row with Vicki, which seemed to echo a very famous 'Enders quote. As long-term fans will remember, back in 2005, Zoe screamed: 'You can't tell me what to do, you ain't my mother!', as her mum Kat (Jessie Wallace) howled back: 'Yes I am!' Joel's version coincidentally aired in the same week that Zoe returned after 20 years. Well, rather unsurprisingly, he hasn't taken it well. As we saw, he headed to The Vic to catch up with Tommy – and suggested they make things more exciting by stealing some booze from the barrel store. It didn't take long for the lads to be discovered, and Ross dragged Joel home. As he was being carted out of the pub he spurted a number of derogatory and extremely concerning comments about Kat. Back at home, Ross made another worrying discovery… In tonight's episode, Ross attempted to worm his way into Joel's mindset and learn the extent of his issues. Joel told his dad that as a man he has no rights, and continued to tear strips off Kat. Ross was at a loose end with what to say, and suggested they have a beer together and a heart to heart. Sitting down, Joel opened his laptop and played a video from the influencer he's a fan of. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? Ross compared the comments to something a comedian would say on TV in the 80s – laden with sexism and misogyny. However, when alone, Ross was startled by the extend the uploader went with this vile words. With Joel out of the room, Ross then spied an email that contained a video of a girl assaulted. To make matters worse, he then found countless other clips of girls being upskirted and voyeurism. More Trending Furious, he charged into the kitchen with the laptop and drenched it under the sink, revolted at what his son was capable of. As he branded him a 'revolting, arrogant, disgusting little pervert', Joel pleaded for forgiveness. But Ross wasn't in the forgiving mood, telling him that not only does he need help, but it's clear there's something wrong with him. View More » What will Joel's next move be? EastEnders Joel Marshall star's real age leaves fans 'gobsmacked' as he celebrates milestone
EastEnders schoolboy Joel Marshall, played by Max Murray, is at the centre of a dark new storyline, and fans have been left shocked over the actor's real age EastEnders' latest plot twist sees young Joel Marshall, portrayed by Max Murray, embroiled in a disturbing storyline that raises concerns about his attitude towards women, while the enigma of his biological mother begins to unfold. Max Murray, who plays Joel, joined the cast of the BBC soap earlier this year, arriving on Albert Square with his father Ross (Alex Walkinshaw) and Ross's partner Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig), following the death of Martin Fowler (James Bye). Despite being a recent addition to Walford, Joel has already caused a stir with his actions, including sexually assaulting a woman on the Tube, pushing Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) into viewing adult content, and recording a private moment with Avani (Aaliyah James), who is now expecting. Murray's performance as the complex character Joel has garnered acclaim from EastEnders fans, sparking curiosity about the actor's real age. While Joel is depicted as a 15 year old, Max recently celebrated turning 18, reports Plymouth Live. On Instagram, Max's mother, Gina Murray – herself an actress known for roles in The Bill, Doctors, Judge John Deed, and Witless – commemorated her son's coming of age with a series of heartfelt photos. Gina expressed her joy on social media, posting: "Max is 18! Happy birthday! Now both my boys are men! ....Enjoy this special day and may it lead to many, many more fabulous days ahead." She expressed her joy, saying: "I feel so very fortunate to have TWO gorgeous young men I can call my own. Remember that you always make me proud.... In good times AND in the more difficult ones.... I Love You, Max @ Emma Barton, known for her role as Honey Mitchell, chimed in with: "Happy Birthday Max.. you superstar", and Harriet Thorpe, who plays Elaine Peacock, added her well wishes: "Happy 18th Birthday Max." Comedian Matt Lucas joined in the celebrations, commenting: "Happy birthday Maxxy!", while dancer Joanne Clifton simply stated: "Happy Birthday!" Despite the birthday buzz, some EastEnders fans were left scratching their heads over Max's real age. Social media was abuzz with comments like: "He's 16, his mother is also an actress." Another fan queried: "Joel is 14/15/16 his real age is 15-18?", and yet another speculated: "Max Murray must be around 16?" One fan humorously admonished a photo of Max as Joel, writing: "You aren't old enough to be in a pub! Get out! @ginamurraywoman tell him! I'm not willing to age so neither can Max!".
