British royals expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital that the King wasn't fully convinced yet. But, however, he was willing to go along with it.

'King Charles, while cautious and wary, might attend the Invictus Games,' Fordwich said. 'But of course, he prefers all private matters to remain private. In addition, there are many conflicts with the royal schedule, let alone Queen Camilla's 80th birthday during the games.'

She also added, 'For Harry, it's about what he can gain, while, for the royals, it's about what they have to lose,' Fordwich claimed. 'Harry wants to be included. He misses not only the U.K. but many aspects of royal privileges. However, he hasn't been successful in any of his endeavors. For the royals, more disclosures and scandals are concerning. They simply don't need… Harry around, particularly not Prince William, who is resolute regarding any reconciliation being a huge mistake.'
This seems to corroborate previous reports that while King Charles might be eager for a reconciliation, William is not so sure. And that means he likely won't attend the Invictus Games, even if invited. Princess Diana's former butler, Paul Burrell, told Express.co.uk, 'I think that The King and the Prince of Wales have enough charity events to go to, so I think they wouldn't have to go to the Invictus Games.' He added, 'This is Harry's baby, not The King's and not William's. I think they shouldn't go to support Harry in this venture. This is Harry's concern, not theirs.'
'A public show of support, at this time, is probably not on the cards. I doubt whether William would embrace Harry in public at this moment in time, or even ever again,' he also said.
The Mail on Sunday reported that Prince Harry was 'hopeful' his family would attend the next Invictus Games, which will take place in 2027 in the UK. 'Harry has agreed that Invictus should extend an invitation to his family,' a source told the publication. 'Invictus hopes the Royal Family will come along to support the wounded veterans taking part.'
Considering the Invictus Games are still years away, a lot could happen before then. Whether that is a full reconciliation between King Charles and Prince Harry, one that can be showcased at the games, will be something to keep an eye on. And though it feels like a long shot at this time, there's enough time for even Prince Harry and Prince William to make up before then.

The case of Austrian sex offender Josef Fritzl caused Kemi Badenoch to lose her faith in God, the Conservative leader has said. In an interview with the BBC, Mrs Badenoch said she was 'never that religious' while growing up but 'believed there was a God' and 'would have defined myself as a Christian apologist'. But this changed in 2008 when she read reports that Fritzl had imprisoned and repeatedly raped his daughter, Elisabeth, in his basement over 24 years. Mrs Badenoch, whose maternal grandfather was a Methodist minister, said: 'I couldn't stop reading this story. And I read her account, how she prayed every day to be rescued. But she insisted that while she had 'rejected God', she had not rejected Christianity and remained a 'cultural Christian', saying she wanted to 'protect certain things because I think the world that we have in the UK is very much built on many Christian values'. During her interview, which is due to be broadcast on Thursday evening, Mrs Badenoch also said her tenure as Conservative leader was going 'well', adding her job was to 'make sure that people can see that we are the only party on the centre-right'. In an apparent dig at Nigel Farage's Reform UK, she said: 'There are pretenders. We're the only party on the centre-right, and we're the only ones who still believe in values like living within our means, personal responsibility, making sure that the government is not getting involved in everything so it can focus on the things it needs to look at, like securing our borders.' She went on to defend previous comments saying the fact she had worked at McDonald's made her working class, saying: 'I had to work to live. 'That, for me, is what being working class is. It's the lifestyle that you have. You have to work, to survive.' And she argued that parents who were 'worried about their children getting stolen or snatched' had created a younger generation that lacked the 'resilience' to deal with problems in life. Responding to figures suggesting a quarter of people aged 16-24 said they had a mental disorder, Mrs Badenoch said: 'I think they think they have a mental disorder, I don't think they all have a mental disorder.' She added: 'I'm not a medical expert so it is not my expertise on exactly what we need to do to get them into work, but we should be trying to get them into work.'

LONDON (AP) — And now for something completely different: Britain's Royal Mail has issued stamps celebrating the absurdist comedy of Monty Python. The 10-stamp series announced on Thursday celebrates some of the troupe's most iconic characters and catchphrases, from 'Nudge, nudge' to 'The Lumberjack Song.' Six stamps depict scenes from the sketch-comedy TV series 'Monty Python's Flying Circus,' including 'The Spanish Inquisition,' 'The Ministry of Silly Walks," 'Dead Parrot' and 'The Nude Organist.' Another four mark the 50th anniversary of the cult classic 1975 film 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail,' including one showing the limb-losing Black Knight insisting, ''Tis but a scratch.' The stamps can be pre-ordered from Thursday and go on sale Aug. 14. Made up of Michael Palin, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones and Graham Chapman, Monty Python brought a unique blend of satire, surrealism and silliness to British TV screens in a series that ran from 1969 to 1974. Oasis gave most ‘ground-shaking' performance of last 20 years
Oasis provided the most 'ground-shaking' performance at Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium when they last played there in 2009, according to analysis of seismic data. The Gallagher brothers' last Scottish gig has topped the chart for the most powerful seismic concert at the venue in the last 20 years, the British Geological Survey (BGS) said. The June 2009 Oasis gig beat the Red Hot Chili Peppers in June 2004, Kings of Leon in June 2011 and Taylor Swift in June last year – when measuring the peak earthshaking power of each event. The measurements were taken from a nearby seismic monitoring station, some 4km from the venue. At peak power of 215.06Kw, the Oasis gig was more than twice as powerful as the next strongest one by the Red Hot Chili Peppers at 106.87Kw. The rankings were revealed ahead of Oasis's comeback tour arriving in the Scottish capital this weekend – meaning there could be another 'shakermaker'. The power output is not related to the volume of the band or the crowd, rather it is the movement of fans jumping and dancing in time to the music, with the height of the jumping and weight of the crowd also potential factors. It means the current cohort of Oasis fans' seismic output could perhaps be compared to those of previous years. BGS seismologist Callum Harrison said: 'In 2009, seismic signals generated by Oasis fans were consistent with a crowd energy of 215kW at its peak – enough to power around 30 of the scooters featured on the iconic Be Here Now album cover. 'Our network of sensors around the country is sensitive enough to pick up ground movement from a source miles away that may not be detectable to humans – and precise enough to register exact timestamps for when the events occur. 'The peak energy reading was recorded around 8.30pm on that June evening back in 2009, which correlates to the time the band first took the stage and performed Rock 'N' Roll Star, which couldn't be more fitting in terms of topping our seismic music chart.' The BGS keeps an archive of continuous ground motion recordings from seismic sensors around the country, dating back several decades. Mr Harrison added: 'In this instance we are only looking back over 20 years, however geological processes occur over vast time scales that can be difficult for humans to comprehend. 'Improving our understanding of historical earthquakes is an important part of BGS research in trying to understand and mitigate the seismic risk around the country.' Ahead of the sold-out gigs at Murrayfield, which begin on Friday, Mr Harrison said it is 'certainly possible' they could top the previous gig's output in 2009, adding: 'We'll just have to wait and see.' He said: 'The main contributing factors are going to be how energetic the crowd is. 'If they're jumping along with the music, how high or how fast are they jumping?'
