Triple H calls WWE a global brand, reveals location selection process
Triple H is Chief Content Officer for WWE and explains to the media why they love Vegas, but consider themselves a global brand.
The WWE "Monday Night Raw" fans roared and chanted "Goldberg" like it was still 30 years ago when the familiar beats of his entrance music hit. Many in the pro wrestling world are speculating whether he was there for the retirement match he alluded to not long ago.
Bill Goldberg was back in the WWE for the first time in more than three years Monday and announced his return to the ring in a confrontation with world heavyweight champion Gunther. During a segment in which Gunther initially challenged new Money in the Bank winner Seth Rollins, Goldberg instead appeared through the smoke and pyrotechnics once more.
The 58-year-old former NFL player congratulated Gunther on regaining his title last week and then told him they had a match at Saturday Night's Main Event on July 12 in Atlanta. Goldberg's feud with Gunther stems from a segment during the Bad Blood premium live event in Atlanta in October 2024, when Gunther insulted Goldberg in front of his son.
LIV MORGAN INJURY UPDATE: WWE Women's Tag Team Champion suffers shoulder injury
"A few months ago, you started something with me and my family in Atlanta, Georgia, and I am going to make sure I end it in Atlanta, Georgia," Goldberg told Gunther in front of the crowd in Green Bay, Wisconsin on Monday night. "You're mine because you're next."
Goldberg previously said during an appearance on ESPN's SEC Nation on Nov. 2, 2024, soon after his initial confrontation with Gunther, that WWE had granted his request for a retirement match in 2025. Goldberg did not mention retirement during Monday's appearance.
But WWE is already promoting the match as "Goldberg's Last Ride" on merchandise, and Goldberg wore a "Goldberg's Last Ride" shirt out to the ring to confront Gunther.
Goldberg became a pro wrestling sensation in WCW in the late 1990s, with a memorable undefeated streak using his spear and jackhammer finishing moves. He has appeared periodically in the WWE since WCW's demise, but not since a match against Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at Elimination Chamber in February 2022.
Saturday Night's Main Event is scheduled for July 12 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Goldberg's hometown.

Arizona Cardinals Year 2 player outlook: TE Tip Reiman
Arizona Cardinals Year 2 player outlook: TE Tip Reiman A look 2024 at third-round pick Tip Reiman and his second-year outlook in 2025. The Arizona Cardinals drafted 12 players in 2024. Some of them had contributions as rookies. Some will have greater roles in 2025. Others will have to battle for the roster. They selected tight end Tip Reiman in the third round with the 82nd overall pick. Entering Year 2 in the NFL, let's have a look at his 2025 outlook. TE Tip Reiman's 2024 season Reiman was a quiet consistent contributor on offense as a rookie. He was listed as the No. 3 tight end on the roster behind Trey McBride and Elijah Higgins but he started nine games and logged 450 offensive snaps, playing more than Higgins' 411 snaps. Now, while Higgins had 20 receptions, Reiman was the Cardinals' blocking tight end. He had six catches for 37 yards. He also logged 189 special teams snaps. Tip Reiman's Year 2 outlook for 2025 Reiman in Year 2 probably will have the exact same role as he did as a rookie. The Cardinals like that he has potential upside as a pass catcher, but he is a mauler in the run game. Since Higgins is a better natural pass catcher (he played receiver in college), the way the Cardinals deployed their tight ends probably won't change much. Reiman will have a quiet, critical role on offense and probably will have limited offensive production. Lamar Jackson pushes for Ravens to sign Jaire Alexander, a former Louisville teammate
Lamar Jackson pushes for Ravens to sign Jaire Alexander, a former Louisville teammate Show Caption Hide Caption Ravens release kicker Justin Tucker after massage therapist allgations Ravens release kicker Justin Tucker, who was accused of sexual misconduct by 16 different employees of eight Baltimore area spas and wellness centers. Sports Pulse NFL free agency is well in the rear view as teams spent hundreds of millions of dollars on veteran talent in mid-March. But there are still some talented players left on the open market, including two-time second-team All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander. Alexander and the Green Bay Packers parted ways this offseason after failing to find a suitable trade partner or contract restructuring for the 28-year-old cornerback. One of his former college teammates is already pushing for their team to bring him in. Baltimore Ravens quarterback and fellow Louisville Cardinals alum Lamar Jackson made his pitch before accepting the Pro Football Writers of America MVP award at minicamp on June 17. "Go get him, Eric," Jackson said, referring to Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta. "I love all of our corners, don't get me wrong. But go get him Eric." The two played together for three years at Louisville. Alexander was a second-team all-conference cornerback in 2016 when Jackson won the Heisman Trophy. They both declared early to enter for the 2018 NFL Draft. Alexander went 18th overall to the Packers before Jackson went 32nd to the Ravens. In one of the best moments from Round 1 of the draft that year, Alexander stopped mid-interview to celebrate the Ravens drafting Jackson. As one of the top contenders in the AFC, Baltimore could always use depth in the secondary. They've built a reputation for signing veteran cornerbacks in recent seasons, too, with Tre'Davious White in 2024 and Ronald Darby in 2023. Alexander would be a younger player than either White or Darby were at their time of signing. Availability is a concern, though, as he played just 14 of 34 possible games over the last two seasons following his most recent Pro Bowl season in 2022. Can the Ravens sign Jaire Alexander? Baltimore is entering its second season under defensive coordinator Zach Orr and the team invested in cornerback in both free agency and the 2025 NFL Draft. Chidobe Awuzie signed a one-year deal, and Baltimore drafted Bilhal Kone and Robert Longerbeam in the sixth round. Awuzie is slated to start outside opposite 2024 first-round pick Nate Wiggins with Marlon Humphrey in the slot. Baltimore currently has $18.94 million in cap space in 2025, per OverTheCap, which is more than enough to sign Alexander to a short-term veteran contract. Ravens CB depth chart Alexander would be joining a crowded cornerback room in Baltimore. Here's all of the players the Ravens have signed at the position on their active roster: All the NFL news on and off the field. Sign up for USA TODAY's 4th and Monday newsletter.

49ers star defends former teammate against negative social media discourse
49ers star defends former teammate against negative social media discourse Over the last year or so there's been a growing discussion surrounding former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel's size and speed with many detractors saying he's overweight and slow. Last season was arguably Samuel's worst in the NFL, as he finished with a career-low 51 receptions for 670 yards and three touchdowns in three games. He also averaged a career-low 3.2 yards per rush, totaling 136 yards gained on the ground. Prior to that, he had caught 283 passes for 4,122 yards and 19 touchdowns while adding another 1,007 yards and 19 scores on 6.3 yards per attempt in 66 games over five seasons. Earlier this offseason, the 49ers sent the 29-year-old to the Washington Commanders in a trade that netted them a 2025 fifth-round pick, which was subsequently used on 21-year-old Oregon running back Jordan James. The willingness to part with a wideout who had been considered one of the best in the league since San Francisco took him in the second round (No. 36 overall) of the 2019 NFL draft for such a weak return indicates that general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan may have seen Samuel's speed take a hit. However, the 49ers have a pretty close locker room, and the players are willing to defend each other from oncoming attacks both on and off the field, and that continues even after they leave the team. Six-time Pro Bowl tight end George Kittle demonstrated that last week when an infamous aggregation account posted a video on social media of Samuel running routes at practice with Washington, insinuating looked bigger and slower. While Samuel didn't exactly appear to be moving too fast during the referenced play, Kittle responded with a simple explanation, saying "It's called group install when players jog through plays. Knock it off." Even 10-time Pro Bowl linebacker Bobby Wagner, who's now teammates with Samuel in Washington, seconded Kittle's insight. Watching Samuel from afar will be interesting in 2025. Will he return to the versatile weapon who could change the game any time he touched the ball, or will he see another down year and potentially drop off even further? Either way, Samuel knows he has Kittle in his corner, even if they're no longer wearing the same jerseys. More 49ers: How 49ers 1st-round pick made team 'feel like he's one of us'
