I had a gastric band as the ultimate revenge glow-up – people say the before & afters look like two different people

A WOMAN has revealed how she had such an incredible glow up that some say her before and after photos look like two different people.
Amy Salmon, a 31-year-old business owner from London, says she was prompted to make a change when her long-term relationship broke down in March last year.

At the time she was size 22 and felt 'horrific' in her own skin, admitting she was 'miserable, had no confidence, didn't know her worth, and was completely lost.'
It was only when Amy saw photos of herself in a dress after a night out post break-up that she decided she needed to do something about her 'unhealthy' habits.
At first, Amy tried to lose the weight through exercise but, due to her binge-eating habit, opted for a £4,200 gastric sleeve in Egypt in June 2024 which helped her shift 8st.
She's now dropped to a svelte size six after undergoing the surgery and has done £5,000-worth of beauty treatments.
This includes changing her make-up and giving her wardrobe a refresh in an attempt to boost her confidence.
She had skin booster treatments, had her face filler and Botox regularly topped up and changed her hair from a 'miserable' blonde bob to flowing 18-inch brunette extensions.
Amy said: "I have changed my hair and got 18-inch extensions put in. The short bob was such a miserable cut and colour for a miserable person.
"I do a lot of the treatment myself but I would have spent absolutely thousands on this. My hair alone cost me £600 and in total at least £5,000 for everything else."
Not only has it completely changed her appearance - with some people saying she now looks like Love Island's Gemma Owens - it's boosted her confidence.
Thanks to the gastric sleeve, Amy lost seven stone and has 'no regrets', as she described getting the surgery as the 'best decision" she ever made.

Amy said: "When I look in the mirror, I see a different person and I don't recognise the person I was. I could cry looking at photos.
"When I stepped out of that relationship, I didn't recognise myself. I am so happy in myself now and I just ooze confidence.
"I got compared to Love Islander Gemma Owens. She's so young but maybe my aesthetic treatment is working.'

BINGE-EATING HABITS
Amy said her unhealthy habits started when she was in her old unhappy relationship.
"[In the relationship], I would order a lot of Uber Eats. I would have constant takeaways and live off these.
"I was probably having five takeaways a week and it was setting me back at least £100.
"The binge-eating had gotten out of control. I just needed something as extreme as a gastric sleeve to kick me into gear.

Amy Salmon
"It [losing the weight] made me feel amazing. I love fashion and it meant I was able to buy clothes from shops as before I had to buy my clothes online.
"As a mum it has massively changed the game. As a 17 stone woman, I would be sweating at soft play.
"I used to be embarrassed to do those things because of how I looked and my energy levels but now I feel so much better."

And after getting her 'sparkle' back post break-up, she says she has started dating again and is now encouraging others to leave their relationship if they're unhappy.
She added: "The break up was the best thing that has ever happened to me. It needed to happen and I dread to think where I would be if I was still in that relationship.
"Do not let the fear of what your life will look like keep you miserable. Life's too short."
SOCIAL MEDIA REACTION
She posted her before and after snaps on her @amysal93 account, in a video which has racked up over 91,000 views.
One person said: 'The way my jaw dropped !! You did that! I'm so proud of you.'
Another added: 'Wowwww you look like your own daughter.'
A third commented: 'pardon me! you look about 15 years younger.'

‘Get them off my screen' rage Love Island fans as Megan and Conor's hideaway romp leaves devastated Emily in tears

FURIOUS Love Island fans want Conor and Megan off their screens after their steamy hideaway visit. Tonight Megan finally confirmed that she and Tommy are over, after spending recent days ramping up her connection with rugby lad Conor. 4 No sooner had she told a delighted Conor about the development, he suggested they spend the night in the hideaway. He gave little thought to his current partner Emily, who only returned from the sleepover earlier in the day. She decided to stay coupled with Conor and not swap him for dumped bombshell Will in the other villa. When Conor bluntly told her he was off to the hideaway, it all proved a bit much. Emily burst into tears and admitted she was more disappointed in pal Megan for not considering her feelings. Though Megan apologised sincerely for the oversight, it wasn't enough to make her change her mind and she and Conor excitedly headed to the hideaway. En route, Conor admitted it was "so awkward" saying goodbye to Emily. Once inside the private room, the pair cuddled up under the covers and shared passionate snogs. Conor even presented Megan with a bracelet to show he was serious about her. But viewers weren't impressed, with one ranting on X: "Watching #LoveIslandUK thinking who is more gross Megan or Conor? Both so grim." Watch the explosive moment furious Love Islander Alima DUMPS Remell after his sleepover snog is exposed Another fumed: "Megan is for the streets and Connor the alley cat." A third said: "Get Megan and Conor off my screen please." The following morning, they emerged from the hideaway into the sunny garden as Meg jokingly said they were on the "walk of shame". Tommy told Dejon and Harry that he felt a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. 4

‘Terrified' Cheryl's killer stalker flouts ban & turns up at house trying to meet her leaving singer feeling ‘violated'

CHERYL Tweedy's killer stalker is back harassing her — flouting a restraining order by turning up at a house. Daniel Bannister visited the building in Buckinghamshire last week. 6 6 The order was imposed after a court heard that the 50-year-old left Girls Aloud singer Cheryl, 41, who lives with son Bear, eight, feeling 'violated, terrified and unsafe in her home'. He has previously been jailed for the manslaughter of a man at a homeless shelter. In the latest scare, charges said he had attended a building where he believed singer Cheryl to be present in Buckinghamshire on June 19. He was then understood to have been arrested in a swoop on his bail hostel. Last Saturday he appeared before Reading magistrates' court when he was remanded in custody. He returned to the court yesterday to plead guilty to a single count of breaching the restraining order. District judge Davinder Sandhu refused bail and sent the case to the town's crown court for sentencing on September 23. Bannister, who gave his home address as a bail hostel in Brixton, South London, faces up to five years in jail. In March, when the creep was caged for 16 weeks, a court heard how his campaign of harassment began when he went to Cheryl's mansion on January 25, 2024. The former X Factor judge saw a stranger approach her doorbell camera and say: 'It's Dan. I've come to get Cheryl.' Cheryl terrorised by convicted killer stalker who turned up at home 3 weeks after Liam Payne funeral He called again in July 2024 and asked through the intercom: 'I'm really thirsty. Can I have a glass of wine please?' The court at the time heard he 'can't stay away' from the singer. Prosecutor Datta Ryan said that visit had made Cheryl feel 'violated and terrified and unsafe in her home'. Bannister was arrested and jailed for four months in September 2024, when he got a three-year restraining order banning him from contacting her. But after he was released from prison he returned to the property on December 10, 2024 — as revealed exclusively by The Sun this January. We told how Bannister's visit came weeks after grieving Cheryl had attended the funeral of her ex, One Direction star and Bear's dad Liam Payne, who fell to his death in Buenos Aires last October. In a statement to cops — read to the court this March — Cheryl said: 'I immediately panicked when I saw Daniel. I was in a state of alarm and shock. I feared for my safety immediately and I feared for my child's safety. He was due back from the cinema and I didn't want him to see Daniel.' 6 6 Bannister's lawyer said the wannabe musician had gone back to the house after his arrest because he wanted to 'reassure her'. Lawyer Colin Mackrell said Bannister 'formed in his mind an affectionate view of Ms Tweedy and he believes that was somehow reciprocated'. A judge imposed a new indefinite order which prevents him from contacting Cheryl or entering any building where he knows or believes she might be. Bannister was previously jailed for 30 months in 2012 for manslaughter after he launched a 'sustained' fatal attack on Rajendra Patel, 48. CCTV showed Bannister punching and kicking Mr Patel at a YMCA in Croydon, South East London. Last night, neighbours of the Brixton bail hostel which Bannister gave as his address in court described him as a wild-haired loner. Police were understood to have arrested him there just a day after he called cops to accuse a neighbour of trying to break into his home. One man, 35, said: 'When the police arrested him he was just smiling. He was paranoid. Another neighbour, 25, said: 'We didn't have any interaction with the guy. He looked like he was in his own head. 'You can tell by looking at someone if they're right or wrong, and he looked wrong.' 6 6
