Family of six recalls feeling 'hopeless' during Morganfield tornado
MORGANFIELD, Ky. (WEHT) — Several homes were destroyed in Morganfield Friday night when a tornado ripped through the city. One of those homes was on Terre Hill Road.
Leo Rednour was with his family of six when the tornado touched down watching from what was once his living room as the storm grew closer to his home of twenty six years.
'I was listening to Wayne Hart on the TV and all of a sudden… boom,' said Rednour. 'It was right here in my house and it just cleaned up everything out of here'
Once the tornado started to rip through their home rednour knew he and his family had to act fast.
'I got in the hallway and put my hands over everybody and it started blowing the windows out,' said Rednour. 'You want to talk about praying? I prayed hard on anything I could ever do.'
Although Rednour's home is lost he knows he's not the only one going through this experience.
'I just pray to God that everything, everybody is safe,' said Rednour. 'Everything can be replaced.'
After getting himself and his family out from the rubble, Rednour says he is thankful to still be alive.
'It makes me feel good that I'm standing here talking to y'all,' said Rednour. 'Because I didn't think I was going to be.'

Dry weekend ahead for Central Florida as temperatures rise
Central Florida will experience a drier pattern this weekend due to slightly lower moisture levels in the atmosphere, resulting in fewer afternoon downpours. As a result, the chances of rain will be around 10-20% on Saturday and 20-30% on Sunday. With the drier conditions, temperatures are expected to rise into the lower to mid-90s, leading to a heat index that will exceed 100 degrees. Early next week, moisture levels will increase again, and we can expect our typical daytime storms to return, marking the arrival of the wet season. Heavy rain washes out road in foothills west of Colorado Springs
Heavy rains in southern Colorado earlier this week have led to flooding that destroyed part of a road in the foothills just west of Colorado Springs. City of Colorado Springs Video posted by the city online shows high runoff in North Cheyenne Creek and heavy damage to the adjacent North Cheyenne Cañon Road. Pavement can be seen broken off from one of the lanes of the road, and the creekwaters are rushing under a collapsed section of roadway. The washout was first discovered on Wednesday morning. It is located approximately 1.5 miles up the canyon. Both gates into North Cheyenne Cañon Park are closed due to the damage assessment that is now taking place. The city says Gold Camp Road is also closed to everyone except for local residents. "We are working on a plan to repair the road, and prevent further roadway damage," the city wrote in a post on social media.
