Prince Andrew's hidden motive for 'nasty remarks about Kate Middleton'
A royal biographer has spoken out about Prince Andrew's alleged 'rude' and 'unkind' comments about the Princess of Wales, leading to claims the Duke of York has a 'tense' relationship with his nephew, Prince William.
Biographer Andrew Lownie, who has penned the explosive new book Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, said that Andrew's alleged comments about Kate came from a place of jealousy.
Speaking out about the details in his book, Lownie said that the claims "surprised" him, as he expected the Duke of York to have more "respect" for William than to be "nasty about his wife". It comes after Prince Andrew's shock act of defiance as he breaks cover after brutal allegations.
It is not known exactly what comments were made by Andrew against his nephew's wife, but Lownie believes the jabs led to a major breakdown of the relationship between the two men.
Lownie told OK! Magazine: "I can't see how anyone could make unkind comments about Kate when she's been the family's saving grace. It surprised me, but people do get jealous. I'd have thought Prince Andrew would respect William as future king though.'
The royal biographer cited the incident as a key moment that William turned his back on his uncle, saying the future king has been left 'frustrated' by Andrew's actions over the years.
"William has a very strong sense of public duty and is doing his best to keep the show on the road," Lownie said. "He's all about doing things the right way and has enough on his plate without having to think about his uncle."
He added: "Everyone is pulling together - Charles, Anne, Edward, William and others - but the whole side has been let down by Prince Andrew."
According to a source who spoke to the author, there has been friction between William and Andrew for years, which began when the disgraced Duke's actions started to impact the public's view of the Firm.
The book has also claimed that when he becomes King, William will be eager to evict Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson out of the Royal Lodge, where the pair have lived for years despite the disapproval of King Charles.
The source is quoted in the bombshell book, saying: "He [William] also loathes Sarah, Andrew's ex-wife, and can't wait for the day when his father throws them both out. If Charles doesn't, I guarantee you the first thing William does when he eventually becomes king is to get them evicted."
Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the claims.
Rumours of the tension between Prince William and Prince Andrew have long swirled. Earlier this year, Andrew attended the royal family's Easter Sunday service at St George's Chapel. William, Kate and their three children did not attend the service, as they instead chose to extend their break in Norfolk having just returned from a family skiing holiday.
A royal source said at the time: "William has no time for his uncle. This Easter was about spending time with his own family, but he would far prefer a situation where he doesn't have to spend time with him." The source went on to claim that Andrew's relationship with Prince William, and also with King Charles, remains "incredibly strained".
A senior royal source added: "The Duke seems to be in the habit of being a significant contributor of headaches for the family and many have run out of patience with him."

Lily James admits she feels 'self-conscious' to go on dating apps as she lifts the lid on her love life in VERY sexy shoot for Who What Wear magazine
Lily James lifted the lid on her love life in a very sexy shoot for Who What Wear magazine. While the leggy star, 36, kept tight lipped if she is dating anyone currently, she did disclose she isn't a fan of dating apps. In the candid interview, the Hollywood actress - who tries to keep her relationships under wraps - admitted she feels 'self-conscious' to go on dating apps. She said: 'I was always in relationships when the [dating] apps started. Now, I just don't know. I feel a bit self-conscious. 'I try to stay really private, as private as I can. To be on a dating app feels a bit counterintuitive to that desire.' Lily also shared her fears for getting older, admitting her biggest change in her thirties has been realising 'life is finite'. She added: 'I only want to do stuff that I really care about. I want to spend time with the people I love. I want to make the most of this wild and crazy life, so I only want to work on stuff that I really love. That's changed.' The film star put on a very racy display in a slew of outfits in the shoot, flashing her washboard abs in a white bralette. In another shot, Lily flashed a hint of cleavage as she struck a pose in a suede red jacket and matching handbag. The Tom & Pammy star was last romantically linked to musician Michael Shuman in late 2023. It comes after Lily hit back at Instagram moderators on Monday after her latest post was removed by the social media platform for breaching community guidelines. The British actress has been on location in the Canadian wilderness while filming Harmonia, a forthcoming thriller from director Guy Nattiv. But she caught the eye of Instagram moderators after sharing an array of photos from the shoot, including one in which she and her co-stars appear to be completely naked. The blurred shot - posted to celebrate the film's completion - captures Lily and five unidentified fellow actresses holding hands as they form a tight circle and gaze up at the sky, as if in worship. Her shoot comes after Lily hit back at Instagram on Monday after her latest post was removed by the social media platform for breaching community guidelines Scheduled for release in 2026, Harmonia is inspired by the real life experiences of Nattiv's own grandmother and her connection to a bizarre cult in the 1980s. The new film also features Carrie Coon, formerly of The White Lotus, The Last Of Us star Bella Ramsey, and Odessa Young, who also features alongside Jeremy Allen White in forthcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere. But Lily' apparent celebration of the shoot was cut short by Instagram, who removed the post in accordance with community guidelines regarding online nudity. Evidently unhappy with the decision, she later posted: 'Instagram you deleted my last post … why…' Instagram is yet to respond publicly, and the post remains notably absent from her social media platform. The company's community guidelines serve to implement restrictions on hate speech, bullying and content related to violence, self-harm and various illegal activities. Intellectual property, spam, inappropriate imagery and branded content are also monitored by the site.

Netflix's Love Is Blind UK star has very famous ITV star cousin
The Love Is Blind UK stars have been revealed and one contestant has a famous cousin who is a reality TV champ A contestant on Love Is Blind UK has been unveiled as having a famous ITV cousin, who is also well-acquainted with reality TV fame. The popular reality dating show returned to our telly screens yesterday (August 13), introducing viewers to a new batch of 30 singletons ready to plunge into the global dating experiment in search of love. The hopeful singles have moved into a communal house where they'll spend two weeks chatting to potential partners in "pods", unable to see each other but able to hear and send gifts to one another. If a pair decide to get engaged in the pods, they meet for the first time in a long hallway before setting off on a couple's trip. Audiences are already hooked on the new series and cast, and among the Love Is Blind contenders is Yolanda, the youngest member of the pod squad, reports OK!. The 26 year old thrill-seeker loves nothing more than skydiving and bungee jumping. She's taking a bold leap into the show, hoping to catch a partner who's up for joining her on exciting adventures. Yolanda will have plenty of support along the way, including from her famous cousin Mimii Ngulube, who bagged the Love Island crown last year. The reality TV star, better known as Michelle, won the Love Island title alongside then partner Josh Oyinsan in 2024. At the time, Yolanda appeared on Aftersun, showing her support. The cousins even teamed up for a festive Boots advert. "Join Mimii and her cousin Yolanda as they pick out some of the best beauty and fragrance gifts from Boots this Christmas," the ad teased, showcasing their tight-knit relationship. Now, it's Yolanda's moment in the spotlight. Matt and Emma Willis have returned to host the popular programme and if the first series is anything to go by, the fallout from series two will be packed with drama and viewers will be quick to share their thoughts online. One participant has already left audiences 'feeling physically sick' as he describes his rather unusual profession. Whilst introducing himself to singer Aanu, Patrick Justus disclosed that he worked as a human design coach. Clarifying it was "like a lifecoach but using a system called spiritual design", Patrick's key philosophy in life was to "trust your spleen", explaining that "splenic energy" was a more powerful force than gut instinct. Chatting in the pods to potential partner Yolanda, Patrick revealed that he follows his spleen "literally to the second", later adding: "Listening to my spleen is the best way to find the love of his life." Audiences were swift to share their reactions as one posted on X:"I loveee Patrick, do you know how nice you have to be for me to ignore the fact you keep mentioning your spleen? ?". "Please the word "spleen" is just making me cringe and feel physically sick. How many times are we going to have to hear this nonsense" said a second. Another person chimed in: "This bloke and his damn SPLEEN, his spleen should have told him to stay home."

Victoria Beckham fans race to bag 'free' luxury beauty item this week
The deal is only available while supplies last, so fans keen to add to their collection may want to shop sooner rather than later Victoria Beckham's eponymous beauty brand is treating fans to a luxurious little bonus this week. For a limited period, customers can bag a complimentary Artist Palette with any purchase over £50. The Artist Palette, reportedly a staple on Victoria's dressing table, is a sleek, curved flat surface crafted for blending or applying water-based or cream formulations. Simply add a few drops of makeup or skincare to the palette, then use a brush to mix before applying to the skin. Compact enough to hold in one hand, it's engraved with the Victoria Beckham Beauty logo for a hint of subtle elegance, making it as much of a showcase piece as it is a functional tool, reports OK!. Bear in mind, though, it's only available whilst stocks last. As noted, shoppers will need to spend over £50 to secure the complimentary gift. M&S shoppers praise 'versatile' suede jacket that 'goes with anything' The new ghd curling range provides 'all-day hold' and leaves hair 'shiny and smooth' For those unfamiliar with VB's range, the Concealer Pen (£64) is a favoured starting point. Delivering light-to-medium, radiant coverage, it functions as skincare too, with the brand asserting it can enhance the complexion within four weeks. A clinical trial revealed that 100% of participants agreed the concealer didn't settle into pores or appear cakey after eight hours of wear. One delighted reviewer commented: "My favourite concealer ever. It covers all my imperfections, has a perfect tint, and achieves the exact coverage effect I want. I had the sampler first, which helped me find my perfect match to order." However, a mixed review states: "The actual product may well be good, but the terrible applicator choice and design are horrendous for desiring a timely effort in doing one's makeup for the day or evening." Another popular concealer option is Rodial's Banana Lowlighter (£38), which boasts a solid 4.8-star rating. This delighted shopper commented: "Gorgeous texture and goes on like silk, can't even tell you're wearing it. Lovely match." Alternatively, the Colour Wash Blush Water Tint (£44) is another favoured selection. This watercolour-inspired flush, offered in three shades, seeks to deliver a natural, glowing appearance. Most customers adore it, with one declaring: "This is genius! Long-wearing, not sticky at all, sinks into the skin, and looks stunning. Brilliant formula." Yet, someone else remarked, "Pretty flush, but it took a lot to build up to show up a natural flush on my cheeks." A different blush option is Rare Beauty's Soft Pinch Liquid Blush (£24), which is renowned for its weightless sensation and enduring formula. An amazed buyer enthused: "This liquid blush is perfect in every way. It doesn't sit on top of the skin or emphasise texture - melts in seamlessly, leaving a beautiful, radiant finish that looks like it's coming from within." Finally, newcomers to Victoria Beckham's beauty range might fancy the Bronzing Brick (£68), which arrives in a stunning tortoiseshell compact featuring gold accents - a genuinely luxurious treat for any cosmetics collection. The product contains two complementary tones, both enriched with nourishing elements like cocoa butter and moringa oil to deliver a moisturising result. One five-star reviewer gushed: "The two shades appear very natural on my skin tone, providing the right amount of 'tan'. It applies perfectly without feeling cakey. I feel like it sets my makeup well also." Though another customer observed: "It clumps together on my skin." As an alternative, my present favourite bronzer is ICONIC London's Shape and Shade Sculpting Stick (£23). It's perfect for contouring, delivering chiselled definition instantly, and it smooths effortlessly for a radiant, authentic look.
