2025 Indy 500 odds: Alex Palou favorite to win 'The Greatest Spectacle in Racing'
The 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500 takes place on FOX on May 25, but motorsports fans are already diving into the early betting action.
Last year's second-place finisher, Pato O'Ward, was at the top of the oddsboard at the beginning of February at 6/1. But now, Alex Palou is in that spot, moving to 9/2 from 10/1 over the last two months.
Palou started the year off in dominant fashion, winning the first two races of the 2025 season.
The reigning Indy 500 champion is Josef Newgarden, and he's third on this board at 13/2.

'I'm going to have to do a lot of practice and a lot of work over the weekend at home and try to at least have a better idea of where my game is going into next week," McIlroy said on Friday, per NBC Sports. The news comes days after McIlroy had a candid conversation with the media as the golfer claimed that details about his driver failing equipment tests at the PGA Championship were leaked. "Yeah, and also, the driver stuff, I was a little (expletive) off because I knew that Scottie's driver had failed on Monday, but my name was the one that was leaked," McIlroy explained to reporters on Wednesday. "It was supposed to stay confidential. "Two members of the media were the ones that leaked it. And again, I didn't want to get up there and say something that I regretted either, because there's a lot of people (I'm trying to protect). I'm trying to protect Scottie." LIV Golf Virginia: Bryson DeChambeau, Martin Kaymer leading after Round 1
GAINESVILLE, Va. — After a 107-minute weather delay, the star players took advantage of a soft golf course during the first round of LIV Golf Virginia. Bryson DeChambeau, who debuted his new set of custom LA Golf irons this week, was chief among them. The Crushers GC captain immediately chipped his third shot on the par-5 14th in for eagle, vaulting him up the leaderboard. But he wasn't done yet. DeChambeau made birdies on holes 15 and 16, with the latter coming in the form of another chip-in from the deep greenside rough. The surge at the end of the round gave him a share of the first-round lead at 5 under. '[There were] a lot of voices in the gym, a lot of people yelling, our fans and theirs,' Neeham senior Andrew Kurdziel said. 'Feeding off the crowd is something we're great at.'
