Treated like strangers: Sunjay Kapur's sister alleges family sidelined, disrespected
Mandhira Kapur Smith, sister of the late Sona Comstar Chairperson Sunjay Kapur, has voiced concern over how her family is being treated by the automotive company founded by their late father, especially her 80-year-old mother Rani Kapur. In an interview with news agency ANI, Mandhira claimed the family has been treated like strangers.'Within days, everything has been taken away from the family,' she said. She also said the names of family members were not included in obituaries and public also said her mother had been instrumental in supporting her father Surinder Kapur as he grew the business from its origins in the jewellery trade into a prominent player in the automotive sector. Despite her early involvement, Rani Kapur has now been excluded from the company, Mandhira claimed. 'There should have been some respect given to my mother who is one of the founders with my father. Sona Comstar was built because of my father,' she said. We see (this as) a legacy, we see dad's dreams,' she also spoke about her mother's ongoing questions regarding Sunjay Kapur's sudden death. 'He was fit. Who is giving her answers? My mum's asking me every day, how did this happen?' she Kapur who headed the Rs 30,000 crore mobility tech company died on June 12 while playing polo in London. Belgium meets EU target for winter with gas reserves
Brussels [Belgium], August 17 (ANI/WAM): The Belgian gas supply is currently 92.1% full. Brussels, along with Portugal, has already met the European target for the upcoming winter, according to figures from the Aggregated Gas Storage Inventory (AGSI).Database on the Gas Infrastructure Europe website showed that the Belgian gas network operator Fluxys has filled the underground gas storage in Loenhout with 7.745 terawatt-hours (TWh) of natural gas. The storage is thus 92.1% full. Only Portugal performs better, with a fully filled gas reserve. For the entire EU, the gas reserves are, according to the figures from Tuesday morning at 6 AM, 72.3% full; this amounts to 820.48 EU countries do have a larger storage capacity than Belgium, so it takes longer to fill them. Germany has the largest storage capacity, with nearly 250 TWh. There, the reserves are currently 65% full. Italy (83.6%), the Netherlands (60.8%), France (80.8%), and Austria (77.4%) also have significant storage 2022, EU member states must fill their gas reserves to at least 90% by November 1 each year. This obligation was meant to ensure that they had sufficient buffers after the Russian invasion of Ukraine triggered supply issues. Gas storage facilities cover about 30% of consumption in winter. IGCF 2025 launches Global PR Challenge
Sharjah [UAE], August 17 (ANI/WAM): In the lead-up to the 14th International Government Communication Forum (IGCF), scheduled to take place on September 10-11 at Expo Centre Sharjah under the theme 'Communication for Quality of Life", the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) has announced the launch of the 'Global PR Challenge – Sharjah Edition."Held for the first time, the challenge will bring together 20 local and international students, divided into ten teams, to compete for the Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA). The winning team will receive a financial prize as well as the opportunity to implement its pre-forum programme for IGCF's 14th edition features a range of competitions designed to inspire creativity and innovation. Alongside the Global PR Challenge, organised in partnership with the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO), the American University of Sharjah (AUS), the programme also includes the University Challenge, run in partnership with United Arab Emirates University (UAEU); and the AI Skills Challenge, organised with Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Science & competing in the 'Global PR Challenge' will be tasked with developing innovative communication solutions inspired by the Your Sharjah campaign. The challenge aims to nurture emerging talent, connect students with global industry experts, and provide a platform for the exchange of creative ideas in government communication and modern media. It also strengthens Sharjah's reputation as a regional hub for media will propose sustainable communication strategies addressing social, environmental, economic, and educational issues, all within a competitive and stimulating environment overseen by a jury of leading top three teams will present their campaigns live at IGCF, with the winners honoured at the SGCA ceremony on September Qarn Foundation for Science & Technology will host the AI Skills Challenge, designed for youth aged 10 to 16. This year's theme focuses on 'The Importance of Food Security in Achieving Community Sustainability."The initiative enables students to bridge technology with cultural identity, translating their ideas into communication messages and policy recommendations that enhance societal stability and public awareness.A panel of subject-matter experts will select the top three submissions, with the winning teams will also be honoured during the SGCA one of the region's most prominent platforms for dialogue, IGCF brings together decision-makers, experts, academics, and youth to exchange insights and explore best practices in communication.
