Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova of Czechia, who returned from maternity leave this year, along with British No. 1 Dan Evans, are among the recipients of wild cards for the Wimbledon main draw. A mix of established names and emerging talents have been granted entry to the main draw of The Championships, with qualifying starting on June 23 and the main draw beginning on June 30.
Kvitova became the first player born in the 1990s to win a Grand Slam title when she defeated Maria Sharapova in the 2011 Wimbledon final. She reclaimed the Venus Rosewater Dish in 2014.
The 35-year-old is currently ranked No. 572 and won the first match of her comeback in Rome last month against Irina-Camelia Begu.
Evans will compete in his 10th Wimbledon main draw after defeating Frances Tiafoe to secure his best win by ranking since the Davis Cup in Manchester in 2023 at the HSBC Championships this week.
Other men awarded wild cards include the 2023 boys' singles champion Henry Searle, Jay Clarke, Jack Pinnington Jones, Johannus Monday, George Loffhagen, and Oliver Crawford.
Jack Draper, Jacob Fearnley, Cam Norrie, and Billy Harris have gained direct entry to the men's singles.
On the women's side, Emma Raducanu, Katie Boulter, and Sonay Kartal all gain direct entry, with Kartal returning a year after becoming the first British woman to reach the third round as a qualifier since 1997.
Following her run to the French Open girls' singles final, Hannah Klugman will make her senior Grand Slam main draw debut after falling just short of reaching the final round of qualifying last year. Fellow rising stars Mimi Xu and 2024 US Open girls' singles champion Mika Stojsavljevic will join Klugman, along with Francesca Jones, Harriet Dart, Jodie Burrage, and Heather Watson.
For qualifying, five Brits received wild cards in each of the men's and women's draws. Arthur Fery, Oliver Tarvet, Ryan Peniston, Paul Jubb, and 2025 Lexus 18U Junior National Champion Oliver Bonding take the men's spots, while Amarni Banks, Lily Miyazaki, Ella McDonald, Amelia Rajecki, and Ranah Stoiber take the women's.

The stalker also tried to sneak into Wimbledon's public ticket ballot. However, with the All England Club's security measures, his attempt went in vain. The stalker's identity remains a mystery, as his name has not been made public. Notably, he followed Raducanu to tournaments in Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Dubai. His actions, like approaching her and trying to get Wimbledon tickets, have raised serious alarms. This isn't Raducanu's first ordeal, a different stalker was given a five-year restraining order in 2022 after walking 23 miles to her home. In February, at the Dubai Tennis Championships, Raducanu faced a terrifying moment. The day before her second-round match against Karolina Muchova, the stalker approached her near the player's hotel, giving her a letter and asking for a photo. Already uneasy from seeing him at earlier tournaments, Raducanu was shaken. During the match, she spotted him in the crowd, leading her to a breakdown. 'I literally couldn't see the ball through tears. I could barely breathe,' she said. She hid behind the umpire's chair, overwhelmed. Security removed the man, and Dubai police issued a restraining order. Wimbledon's organizers, the All England Lawn Tennis Club, acted immediately when they came to know that the stalker tried to buy tickets for this month's Championships through the public ballot. His name was flagged during a security check, as it had been shared with tennis authorities after Dubai. The attempt was blocked, ensuring he couldn't get near Raducanu. Wimbledon prioritizes player safety. Sally Bolton, the chief executive said, 'We're liaising with the tours, with the Met police, with other security agencies right through the year to think about the types of risks we need to look at and adjusting what we put in place." 'I would say to players should have confidence when they're here and if they are concerned on any basis they should come and talk to us about that because we can put bespoke arrangements in place,' she added.
