Tata Nexon EV 45 scores 5 stars in crash test
Bharat NCAP has revealed that the 5-star crash test rating has been granted to the 45 kWh variants of the Nexon EV, which were subsequently included in the lineup. It achieved a five-star rating in both adult and child occupant protection categories. This electric SUV, recognized as the top-selling electric vehicle in India since its introduction, earned 29.86 points out of a possible 32.00 in the adult occupant protection category. In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, it received 14.26 points out of 16.00, while in the side movable deformable barrier test, it scored 15.60 points out of 16.00. For child occupant protection, the SUV garnered 44.95 points out of 49.
The 45 kWh battery pack boasts a claimed range of 350 to 375 km under C75 conditions. The front-axle electric motor generates 142 bhp and 215 Nm of torque. Pricing starts at ₹ 13.99 lakh and can reach up to ₹ 17.19 lakh, both figures being ex-showroom.

Royal Enfield is poised to unveil the 2025 Hunter 350 in the Indian market on April 26th. Concurrently, the brand will be celebrating the HunterHood festival in several cities. The motorcycle was initially launched in 2022, and since then, more than 500,000 units of the Hunter 350 have been sold. The updated Hunter 350 will feature a new LED headlight, similar to those found on other Royal Enfield models, although it is not particularly bright and often has difficulty illuminating the road ahead. Additionally, a revised rear suspension system is anticipated, which should address one of the main complaints regarding the current Hunter 350's overly rigid rear suspension. Lastly, there will be new color options available.

Ather Energy has announced that it is developing a new cost-effective platform known as EL. This platform will serve as the foundation for upcoming e-scooters that will be priced lower than the existing models, specifically those below the 450X and Rizta. This information was disclosed during the announcement of the company's IPO launch. The Ather EL platform is still in the development phase and is expected to be introduced in the coming years, although the company has not provided a specific timeline for the release of its more affordable scooter range. Additionally, the brand has indicated that it is also working on a new platform for electric motorcycles.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Bharat NCAP vs Global NCAP crash test results comparison. How are they different?
The fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire is built with stronger materials as compared to its predecessor. With this, the Dzire became the second car in India after the Tata Nexon to be crash tested by both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP. Interestingly, just like the Tata Nexon, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire has scored a five-star safety rating in both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP crash tests. While the Maruti Suzuki Dzire scored five stars in both BNCAP and GNCAP crash tests, there are slight differences. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire scored a five-star rating in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category in both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP crash tests, but in the Child Occupant Protection (COP) category, the points it scored are different. Here is a quick look at the differences in scores and ratings for the Maruti Suzuki Dzire given by Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP. Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Bharat NCAP crash test result At Bharat NCAP crash test, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire sub-compact sedan has received good protection for the driver's head, neck, pelvis, thighs and feet during the frontal offset deformable barrier test. In the same test, the front passenger's head, neck, thighs and left tibia received good protection as well. When it comes to the protection for the driver's chest, it was rated marginal, while for the tibia, it was adequate. Safety to the front passenger's chest and right tibia was rated as adequate by BNCAP. In the side movable deformable barrier test, protection to the head, torso and abdomen was good, while for the chest, it was rated as adequate. However, all parts of the driver got good protection in the side pole impact test. In the COP category, Bharat NCAP rated the sedan with a dynamic score of 23.57 out of 24 points. While the new Dzire scored full points for the 18-month-old dummy's front and side protection, the three-year-old dummy scored a total of 7.57 out of eight points in its frontal collision test and received full four out of four points for side protection. Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Global NCAP crash test result At the Global NCAP crash test, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire was rated to offer good protection to the driver and front passenger's head, neck and thighs during the frontal offset deformable barrier test. The driver's feet also received good protection, and tibia protection for both front occupants was rated as adequate. The driver's chest received marginal protection, which was rated as adequate for the front passenger. In the side movable deformable barrier test, all parts of the driver's body received good protection, but in the side pole impact test, protection to the driver's chest was noted as marginal, while other parts received good safety in this test. In the COP tests at the Global NCAP, both the 18-month-old and three-year-old dummies received full points in the front and side collisions. The three-year-old's child restraint system (CRS) provided full protection to the head and chest of the dummy, but limited protection to the neck in the frontal impact test. However, during the side impact tests, all parts received full protection, similar to the 18-month-old dummy's front and side impact tests. Bharat NCAP vs Global NCAP: Differences in test results Maruti Suzuki Dzire performed similarly in its frontal offset deformable barrier tests in both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP. The only difference was protection to the front occupant's left tibia, which was rated to offer good protection in the BNCAP test but adequate in the GNCAP test. In the side pole impact tests, there was a significant difference. In GNCAP, the Dzire scored marginal protection to the driver's chest and good protection to all other parts. Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Prices Increased By Up To Rs. 3,000
The iconic Royal Enfield Bullet 350 underwent a generation change in 2023, when it finally transitioned to the brand's modern J-series platform, joining the likes of the Meteor 350, Classic 350 and Hunter 350. While the fundamentals have remained unchanged since then, Royal Enfield has introduced a few strategic updates to the Bullet 350's variant lineup and has rejigged the pricing as well. The entry point into the Bullet family is the Battalion Black variant, priced at Rs. 1.75 lakh, which sees no price increase. With its all-black bodywork, golden hand-painted pinstripes, retro-style taillight, scooped single seat, and a rear drum brake, this new base variant is designed to cater to purists who prefer the traditional Bullet styling. Following that is the Military variant which is still offered in Black and Red, which also carries a Rs. 1.75 lakh price tag, getting a Rs. 2,000 hike over its original price. The standard variant, available in Black and Maroon, now costs Rs. 2.00 lakh, up by Rs. 3,000. The flagship Black Gold version has seen a marginal increase too and is now priced at Rs. 2.18 lakh, up by Rs. 2,000. Royal Enfield had also introduced a Military Silver variant briefly, but it has since been discontinued. While the variant mix has changed slightly and prices have gone up by Rs. 2,000 - Rs. 3,000 across the board, the Bullet 350 remains mechanically identical. It continues to be powered by the 349 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 20.2 hp and 27 Nm. However, a noteworthy update lies on the horizon. Royal Enfield is expected to equip the entire 350cc range, including the Bullet, with the slip-and-assist clutch that recently debuted on the 2025 Hunter 350. This small but significant upgrade should enhance the riding experience, particularly in city traffic.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno Bharat NCAP crash test: Why same car get different scores?
As standard, the Baleno comes with dual airbags, while the top-end variants come with six airbags. Check Offers Maruti Suzuki Baleno is the largest-selling premium hatchback in India that competes with rivals such as Hyundai i20, Toyota Glanza and Tata Altroz. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is priced between ₹ 6.70 lakh and ₹ 9.92 lakh (ex-showroom). The model was the best-selling premium hatchback in the country in FY25, clocking 167,161 units. Earlier this week, Baleno scored a four-star safety rating at the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (Bharat NCAP or BNCAP) crash test. Interestingly, the hatchback has scored a five-star safety rating as well at the BNCAP crash test. The same model garnering two different scores at the Bharat NCAP crash tests has left many people confused. If you, too, are feeling confused about the same car getting two different crash test ratings, here is a detailed explainer about the reason behind the Baleno receiving two different crash test safety ratings from the Bharat NCAP. Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Same car, two different stars The two different scores for the Maruti Suzuki Baleno are attributed to two different variants - one of them was equipped with two airbags, while the other was equipped with six airbags. Six airbags are not offered as a standard feature across the entire Baleno range, which is why Bharat NCAP tested two models, and they came with different scores. As part of Bharat NCAP crash tests, the assessments are done based on the performance of the cars across three sections - Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), Child Occupant Protection (COP) and safety assist technologies. Maruti Suzuki Baleno is sold in four different trim choices - Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. While Sigma and Delta come equipped with only two frontal airbags, Zeta and Alpha trims come with six airbags. These two variants get dual front, driver side, co-driver side, left curtain and right curtain airbags. The premium hatchback scored four stars in the AOP category and three stars in the COP category. The Baleno with six airbags scored 26.52 points out of 32 in the AOP category. In the same category, the Baleno with two airbags scored 24.04 points out of 32. Both versions of Baleno garnered 34.81 points out of 49 in the COP category. Both versions of Baleno faced frontal offset deformable barrier test at a speed of 64 kmph, a side movable deformable barrier test at a speed of 50 kmph and a side pole impact test at a speed of 29 kmph. Finally, they were given star ratings from one to five on the basis of their performance across different crash tests. In the AOP category, both versions of the Baleno received 11.54 points out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test. However, the Baleno with six airbags scored 14.99 points out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier test, as against 12.50 points by the version with two airbags. Four extra airbags, two on each side, helped the six-airbag equipped version perform better in the side movable deformable barrier test. While the number of airbags differs in the Baleno range on the basis of the trim, safety assist technologies like electronic stability control (ESC), pedestrian protection system and seatbelt reminders come as standard across the variants.
