Real Madrid place a price tag on 22-year-old injury-ridden star

Yahoo14 hours ago
According to an update from Defensa Central, Real Madrid would be open to selling Eduardo Camavinga if an offer of around €80 million arrives.
The French midfielder, who is unavailable for the La Liga opener against Osasuna due to injury, has become a point of frustration.
His recent spell at the club has been hampered by fitness issues and repeated physical problems, raising doubts over his long-term consistency.
Despite this, the club has stood firm throughout the summer. Real Madrid made it clear that they had no intention of parting ways with Camavinga unless a huge offer arrived.
According to the report, intermediaries approached Los Blancos over his availability in recent months, but the answer from the club was always the same: 'For less than €80 million we are not interested at all.'
Since that stance was communicated, there has been no further approach from any club.

Manager Xabi Alonso still considers the Frenchman a crucial part of his squad plans.
Even though injuries have prevented him from using the midfielder at the start of this season, Alonso values Camavinga's physical strength, ability to win duels, and his composure when bringing the ball out from the back.
These qualities make him a player Alonso wants to count on once he recovers full fitness.
Real Madrid believe that Camavinga's best years are still ahead of him, and the club's confidence in him has been evident despite his setbacks.
The expectation is that he can recover, regain his rhythm, and provide the energy and control that Madrid's midfield needs.
For now, his future at the Santiago Bernabeu seems secure, unless an extraordinary €80 million bid forces the club to reconsider.

Arne Slot makes HUGE Richard Hughes contract demand

Liverpool are still in the midst of a landmark summer transfer campaign. The Reds have spent close to £300m since winning the Premier League title on new players. Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giovanni Leoni and Giorgi Mamardashvili have all come through the door for the champions. 🔴 Shop the LFC 2025/26 adidas home range Shop the LFC Store 🚨2025/26 LFC x adidas range🚨 LFC x adidas Shop the home range today! And to balance the books, sporting director Richard Hughes has also overseen the departures of several first-team players. 🔴 That list is headed by Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez - while Jarell Quansah, Ben Doak, Caoimhin Kelleher, Tyler Morton, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Nat Phillips have also left. Konate future uncertain But Liverpool are by no means done. We could see Alexander Isak arrive as the club's new No9 before the window is out - although Newcastle have not yet agreed to release their star striker. Marc Guehi is another who could arrive - with the Crystal Palace captain out of contract in 2026. Part of the reason that Liverpool are interested in the England international is that Ibrahima Konate is in the same boat. Under contract until 2026, Liverpool are unsure whether the France defender will be at the club next season. Arne Slot wants to keep Konate Accordingly there have been suggestions that the 26-year-old could either be sold this summer or else replaced by Guehi on a Bosman in 2026. However according to a new report in Defensa Central, Liverpool are NOT giving up on Konate - and Arne Slot in particular is doing all he can to ensure the title-winning stopper stays. 'Arne Slot has asked his directors for an extra effort to prevent the Frenchman from leaving Anfield,' the report reads. Konate signed for Liverpool back in 2021 from RB Leipzig but has only come into his own as a bonafide top-class player in the last 12 months or so. © IMAGO Konate's sizeable contract demands He earns around £140k per week on his current contract - and it's been reported that he wants £200k per week to renew. Of course Real Madrid can not only offer a blockbuster salary but also a sizeable signing-on fee - estimated at €18m. The financial lure is strong but the indications are that Slot is asking his club to pull out all the stops to prevent Konate from leaving.

Brentford reject bid worth up to £40m from Newcastle for Yoane Wissa

Newcastle United have seen an improved bid for forward Yoane Wissa rejected by Brentford. The proposal was worth £35million plus £5m in difficult-to-achieve add-ons but turned down. Brentford sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity as they were not authorised to discuss the situation, have stressed that the club have not provided a target price to any team. Advertisement Wissa wants the move to St James's Park. The Athletic reported on July 22 that Brentford rejected a £25m proposal from Newcastle for the 28-year-old, who scored 19 Premier League goals in the 2024-25 season. Nottingham Forest also had a bid rejected for the DR Congo international in July, having previously had an approach rebuffed in January. Wissa returned from Brentford's pre-season training camp in Portugal to hold face-to-face talks over his future with the Brentford hierarchy. He did not play in pre-season and was absent from the squad for their opening fixture of the Premier League campaign against Nottingham Forest, which ended in a 3-1 defeat. Newcastle turned their attentions to Wissa after cooling their interest in Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, who eventually joined Liverpool. Newcastle have missed out on several striker targets this summer in addition to Ekitike, including Joao Pedro, Liam Delap (both Chelsea) and Benjamin Sesko (Manchester United). Their pursuit of a front man comes amid Alexander Isak's desire to leave, with the Sweden international saying on social media on Tuesday that his relationship with the club 'can't continue.' Wissa, who joined Brentford from French side Lorient in 2021, has another year on his contract, and the Premier League club hold an option to extend his terms for a further 12 months. Brentford have had a summer of major change, with head coach Thomas Frank departing the club to join Tottenham Hotspur alongside three members of his backroom coaching staff. Meanwhile, captain Christian Norgaard joined Arsenal and 20-goal forward Bryan Mbeumo completed a transfer to Manchester United. Mbeumo and Wissa scored 39 of Brentford's 66 goals in the top-flight last season. Wissa has recorded 49 goals and 13 assists in 149 appearances for Brentford. Spot the pattern. Hope for Serie A clubs as Man United aim to sell five players

Manchester United aim to sell five players before the end of the summer transfer window, including three targets for Serie A clubs. The Manchester Evening News reports that Manchester United hope to sell Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Rasmus Hojlund before the end of the summer transfer window on September 1. Several media outlets have claimed that Sancho has rejected an offer from Roma, but Football Italia sources understand that the English winger has only put talks with the Giallorossi on hold. The signing of Leon Bailey could even be favourable to Roma, given that the Aston Villa loanee is a close friend of Sancho.
