SF driver exam station closes after losing power
SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO)– The Sioux Falls Driver License Exam Station has closed its doors temporarily because of a loss of power.
No vote option for driver's license under SB73
Acording to a post on social media from the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, the Sioux Falls Driver License Exam Station has lost power and is unable to help customers at this time. The station closed at about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday.
The post added that the Department of Public Safety will provide updates as soon as possible.

Man identified in fatal Monday I-90 crash
SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO) — A Flandreau man died in a crash on Interstate 90 Monday morning. A news release from the Department of Safety said the driver of a Ford F-350 road construction vehicle was stopped on I-90 westbound in the right-hand lane directing traffic into the left lane. The Ford was equipped with a working warning sign and arrow. Minnesota Ave. sees extra 10,000 cars a day Casey Wilson, 50, the driver of a Dodge Grand Caravan, struck the back of the Ford, sending it into the median where it caught fire. Car vs. motorcycle crash leaves Spearfish man dead
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Spearfish police were called to a car vs. motorcycle crash on Thursday afternoon that left one man dead, according to a news release. Major gold find near Spearfish, South Dakota reported Witnesses described a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle traveled eastbound on Colorado Boulevard, when a westbound 2020 Ford Escape turned left toward Christensen Drive, in front of the motorcycle. This caused the driver of the motorcycle, a 71-year-old Spearfish man, to strike the passenger side of the vehicle. He was was transported to Monument Health Rapid City Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The press release stated he was not wearing a helmet and authorities did not release the victim's name. The driver of the Ford, a 91-year-old Sturgis man was issued a citation for failing to yield right of way to the motorcycle. The crash remains under investigation. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
