Coronation Street star Michael McStay dies aged 92
In a statement, the spokesperson said: 'It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael McStay, an actor of the highest standing and talented writer, whose career across stage, screen and radio spanned over six decades.'
McStay had a 60-year career and died from heart failure on Sunday, May 18, according to the Sun.
The newspaper explained that his last acting role was in Coronation Street, where he played Alan Hoyle, replacing John Woodvine in 2011.
McStay studied a degree in Drama, French and Philosophy at Bristol University, reports the Sun.
He then went to France and starred in thirteen episodes of the French serial Le Mari de L'Ambassadeur.
McStay had roles in Doctor Who, Peter Yates' Robbery, Blunt and more, but rose to fame after No Hiding Place was released.

Tributes have been paid to McStay following the news of his death with one Coronation Street fan sharing to X: 'Sad to see that Michael McStay has passed away.
"Absolutely adored him in Corrie as Alan Hoyle in the John Stape storyline.
"Both him and the late Jean Fergusson were brilliant in the basement episodes.'
Another person replied to this post, saying they were 'sorry to hear of his death.'
He was also a writer, having written plays for BBC Radio 4. He also wrote ITV comedy Pull the Other One.

According to reports in The Sun, the incident took place in February when 'masked thugs stormed a wake in Stafford and hacked at a dad' who 'nearly lost his arm.' Additionally, someone else was glassed, one struck with a metal pole, and two people were run over by a car. Ashman was one of two suspects questioned about the incident. 'This was a horrific attack which could have been even worse,' a source told The Sun. 'Ashman may have signed up to one of the biggest shows on TV with this hanging over his head.' According to insiders, ITV were unaware of the incident until the publication raised it, and it was not flagged as part of the contestant checks. Now, the decision has been made to part ways with Ashman. Other confirmed contestants for series 12 of Love island include former fire breather Sophie Lee and personal trainer Aaron Buckett.

PARIS, June 4 (Reuters) - At Roland Garros, a venue that has crushed generations of French players, world number 361 Lois Boisson is daring to dream of an improbable triumph after she stormed into the French Open semi-finals on Wednesday to continue her magnificent run. The 22-year-old, in a Grand Slam main draw for the first time, beat Russian prodigy Mirra Andreeva in the quarter-finals having knocked out world number three Jessica Pegula in the previous round. Her WTA ranking belies the true level of Boisson, who was hovering around the 150th place when she sustained a serious knee injury a year ago. Now that she's fit, she is firing and has her eyes firmly fixed on the biggest prize. "For sure, every tennis player dreams of winning a Slam - and for a French player, Roland Garros even more so. I'll go for it because my dream is to win the final, not the semi-final,' Boisson, who will at least break into the world's top 70 next week, told a press conference. The daughter of a former professional basketball player, she has lit up the clay courts in Paris with her gutsy performances and calm demeanour under pressure — a far cry from how she used to be. "When I started tennis, I was very nervous, very emotional on court," Boisson, who faces world number two Coco Gauff on Thursday, told reporters. "It was hurting me too much.
