Two men charged with 'inciting racial hatred' during protest in Aberdeen
The pair, aged 37 and 39, were arrested in connection with 'inciting racial hatred' during the protest, which took place in Links Road on Saturday August 2.
The 37-year-old has also been charged in connection with an assault on the day.
Police officers are continuing their investigations into the demonstration and further charges may follow.
They have said they are 'pursuing positive lines of inquiry to identify other individuals involved in offences that too place during the event'.
Chief Inspector Darren Bruce, local area commander for Aberdeen City North, said: 'Police Scotland supports everyone's right to lawful protest.
'But when criminality occurs during these events, we will take appropriate action to identify those responsible and bring them to justice.
'There is no place for hate crime in our society.
'Our inquiries are continuing in relation to other reports of criminality that took place last Saturday.'
Police are asking anyone with information about offences and individuals involved in the incident to come forward.

Dozens of extra police officers were drafted in after cops were attacked at a similar protest last weekend. Angry residents held a fourth protest in a street outside a property in Fife. Around 150 locals in Methil, Fife, blocked a road while chanting and holding placards displaying messages such as 'No place 4 a beast' and "toot toot beast out". A large police operation was mounted due to fears of a possible repeat of the violence which occurred at last Saturday's protest. Five people were charged after eggs and stones were thrown at officers. Specially trained public order officers were drafted, however no-one required hospital treatment. They were charged after four males aged, 14, 15, 17 and 23 and a female aged 16 were charged in connection with public order related offences at a previous protest. Chief Inspector Craig Fraser said last week: 'The violence officers experienced while carrying out their duties was unacceptable and we would encourage people not to engage in further disorder. 'We understand there are strong feelings in the local area but that is no excuse for violence or disorder. 'We are particularly concerned with the number of children who have been present. 'Our enquiries into these gatherings are ongoing as we work to identify further individuals involved in this incident.'

Man and woman arrested after cannabis, cocaine and heroin seized by police
Police have arrested two people after drugs and cash were seized in Edinburgh. Around 11.30am on Friday, 8 August, 2025, officers stopped and searched a 21-year-old man in Hailesland Grove, who was found in possession of cannabis. Further enquiries led officers to a car parked nearby where officers recovered quantities of Cocaine and Heroin. The estimated value of the drugs is more than £74,000. Officers also searched two addresses in the Wester Hailes and Pilton areas of Edinburgh with a quantity of cash being recovered from one of the addresses. A man and woman, both aged 21, have been arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences. They are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, 11 August, 2025. Detective Sergeant John Dunn said: 'We work tirelessly to remove illegal drugs from communities every day and remain committed to disrupting the activities of those who supply drugs. 'We cannot tackle this issue alone and would urge the public to continue supporting us in building intelligence about the possession and supply of drugs by contacting Police Scotland on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.' Two arrested as £74k drugs haul recovered in Edinburgh
A quantity of cash was also recovered during a search of a property. Two people have been arrested after a five-figure haul of drugs was recovered in Edinburgh. Police in the capital stopped and searched a 21-year-old man in Hailesland Grove, in the Wester Hailes area on Friday, August 8. He was allegedly found to be in possession of cannabis. Further enquiries led officers to a car parked nearby, where quantities of cocaine and heroin were recovered. The drugs had an estimated value of more than £74,000. Two addresses, one in Wester Hailes, the other in the Pilton area, were later searched. A quantity of cash was discovered in one of the properties. It comes as three people were arrested at the first of Oasis' three gigs in the capital on Friday night in separate incidents. A man and two women, all in their 40s, were arrested at Murrayfield Stadium over offences including abusive behaviour, assault and possession of illegal drugs. The man and one of the women are expected to appear in court at a later date. The second woman received a recorded police warning.
