Prince William 'furious' at Prince Andrew over 'rude' Kate incident, shocking book claims

Daily Mirror3 days ago
A source has claimed that the 'tense' relationship between Prince William and his uncle has partly being caused by the Duke of York making 'rude' comments about Princess Kate
Prince William's 'tense' relationship with his uncle Prince Andrew has been partly caused by the Duke of York allegedly making 'rude' comments about his wife Kate, according to an explosive new biography.

The book, 'Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the Yorks', makes a number of allegations about the Duke and Duchess of York's' "hedonistic life, controversial friendships and secretive money-making endeavours", while also making claims about tensions within the royal family.

According to a source who spoke to the biography's author Andrew Lownie, there has been friction between William and Andrew for years, which began when the disgraced Duke's actions started to impact the public's view of the Firm.

The source claimed that Andrew had been "rude" about Kate, but did not clarify what comments had been made about the Princess of Wales.
The book, seen by The Mirror, also alleged that William has been trying for years to get Prince Andrew, along with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, evicted from the Royal Lodge: the 30-room mansion the couple occupy on the grounds of Windsor Castle.

According to the unnamed source, William believes that Andrew is not maintaining the property as it has fallen into a state of disrepair over the last year.
The source is quoted in the bombshell book, saying: "He [William] also loathes Sarah, Andrew's ex-wife, and can't wait for the day when his father throws them both out. If Charles doesn't, I guarantee you the first thing William does when he eventually becomes king is to get them evicted."

Rumours of the tension between Prince William and Prince Andrew have long swirled. Earlier this year, Andrew attended the royal family's Easter Sunday service at St George's Chapel.
William, Kate and their three children did not attend the service, as they instead chose to extend their break in Norfolk having just returned from a family skiing holiday.
Royal sources at the time claimed that William is reluctant to spend time with his uncle Andrew at family gatherings, after the Duke heaped shame on himself and the institution in recent years. The Prince of Wales was instrumental in Andrew's banishment from royal life, after his disastrous Newsnight interview in 2019 which exposed his relationship with the late billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

A royal source said at the time: "William has no time for his uncle. This Easter was about spending time with his own family, but he would far prefer a situation where he doesn't have to spend time with him." The source went on to claim that Andrew's relationship with Prince William, and also with King Charles, remains "incredibly strained".
A senior royal source added: "The Duke seems to be in the habit of being a significant contributor of headaches for the family and many have run out of patience with him."
The Mirror has reached out to Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace for comment.
'Entitled' by Andrew Lownie (William Collins, £22), to be published August 14.

Freakier Friday Easter Eggs explained including hidden Mean Girls reference

Freakier Friday has finally landed in cinemas- and it features nods to Lindsay Lohan's past roles Freakier Friday has finally hit the big screen, a whopping 22 years after the original – we're just as gobsmacked at how time has flown. ‌ This sequel to the 2003 comedy classic Freaky Friday, sees Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis reprising their roles as mother-daughter pair Anna and Tess. ‌ Just like the first film, the follow-up centres on family members who mysteriously switch bodies. But this time around, Anna's teenage daughter Harper (played by Julia Butters) and her soon-to-be stepsister Lily (portrayed by Sophia Hammons) are also caught up in the chaos. ‌ However, amidst the supernatural body-swapping antics, there are several nods to other films that fans might overlook during their initial watch. Here are two standout Easter eggs, explained. Mean Girls Easter egg First off, Mean Girls. The 2004 comedy showcases one of Lohan's most memorable performances to date, and continues to be a significant part of pop culture, reports the Mirror US. ‌ Early on in Freakier Friday, we meet Anna's new beau Eric, played by Manny Jacinto. She bumps into the British single dad at Harper's school and they swiftly fall head over heels for each other. The film then whisks us through their love story in a quick montage that depicts various stages of their relationship. At the end of the scene, it's unveiled that they're engaged and their wedding is set for October 3rd. Lohan's character doesn't say the date, but it's highlighted on her calendar, so you could easily miss it. ‌ Fans of Mean Girls will recognise that October 3rd held special significance for Lohan's 2000s character Cady Heron. Soon after beginning secondary school, Cady falls for classmate Aaron Samuels (Jonathan Bennett). ‌ During a memorable moment from the noughties film, she reflects on an encounter with Aaron. "On October 3rd, he asked me what day it was," Cady reveals in voiceover. The sequence then unfolds, showing her responding: "It's October 3rd." This date subsequently became a cultural touchstone amongst supporters and is now commemorated each year as 'Mean Girls Day'. ‌ While Lohan has moved beyond Cady, Freakier Friday still acknowledges the actress' legendary role. The Parent Trap parallels The most obvious The Parent Trap reference is the cameo from Elaine Hendrix, who portrayed Lohan's would-be stepmother Meredith Blake in the 1998 family film. ‌ In Freakier Friday, Hendrix appears as magazine editor Blake Kale, collaborating with Anna's pop star client. Yet the movie seems to further reference The Parent Trap through its plot, though this connection is admittedly more tenuous. The late nineties picture centres on twins Hallie and Annie (both portrayed by Lohan) who become separated following their parents' split, before discovering each other at summer camp. ‌ The siblings subsequently devise a scheme to reconcile their parents and repair their family. They swap identities after camp, with one travelling to London with their mother whilst the other journeys to California with their father. ‌ While they're busy plotting to rekindle their parents' love, their dad, portrayed by Dennis Quaid, is on the brink of tying the knot with his new flame, Meredith. The recurring theme of blended families and the switcheroo plot are also key elements in Freakier Friday. Moreover, the 2025 film showcases two youngsters secretly scheming to derail their parents' relationships. In The Parent Trap, Annie and Hallie are on a mission to split Meredith and their dad, Nick. On the other hand, Freakier Friday has Harper and Lily on a quest to wreck Anna and Eric's relationship.

'I've met Prince Andrew and one thing struck me when I read humiliating new allegations'

More shock allegations have emerged against Prince Andrew in a bombshell book - and royal expert Jennie Bond has revealed her experience when she encountered him Prince Andrew has faced a torrent of new allegations in a bombshell new book. ‌ The biography of both Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, makes a number of shock claims about the pair, including their rampant infidelity before they split and the disgraced Duke of York's supposed rants at staff. ‌ Andrew stepped down from royal duties in 2019 after a car crash BBC Newsnight interview about his connection to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Since then, he's been embroiled in further scandals - including his links to an alleged Chinese spy. ‌ And according to former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond, Andrew is proving to be "the problem that won't go away" with the release of 'Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the Yorks' by Andrew Lownie. She told the Mirror: "Every few months now, there seem to be new allegations about Prince Andrew and lurid stories about his behaviour over the years. ‌ "These summer months are meant to be a period of calm and respite for the Royal family. But here's the Duke once again, splashed all over the papers, with graphic tales. "I'm sure the book will have infuriated Andrew. I have to say, though, that from my own experience of meeting the Duke and my conversations with many people who have known him or worked with him over the years, there is a distinct ring of truth about his portrayal in this book. Arrogant, pompous and obsessed with status was my abiding impression of him." The month of August usually sees the royals all decamp to Scotland to spend time at their beloved Balmoral estate. King Charles has continued the tradition of inviting members of his family to spend time with him in Scotland. In previous years, Andrew, as well as ex-wife Fergie, have been among the guests. And Jennie believes these latest allegations could prove to be a spanner in any potential Balmoral plans. ‌ She added: "For the King, it must be exasperating to have to read once again about his brother's shenanigans. It will be interesting to see whether the Duke and Duchess are invited to Balmoral this year as part of the family's summer get-togethers. It certainly could be awkward. "But I don't think we should expect any retaliation from the King. He remains Charles's brother, and I suspect the King will just roll his eyes, probably swear about Andrew under his breath — but then get on with more important things in life. ‌ "The book will, of course, annoy the Palace communications team who are constantly having to shore up the damage to the monarchy caused by Andrew's behaviour." However, the book did not only make allegations against Andrew, it also claimed that ex-wife Fergie would make extravagant demands and lived a life of "opulent excess". It is alleged she spent wildly on staff, holidays, parties and flowers, with no regard for settling bills during her marriage to Andrew - with the late Queen paying off her debts totalling hundreds of thousands of pounds. The Mirror has contacted the Duke and Duchess of York for comment. ‌ And Jennie explained: "For Fergie, I think the book will be a very tough read. In recent months and years, she has been brought in from the cold and has enjoyed a number of family occasions with her royal relatives. "There's also been a good deal of public sympathy for the Duchess in her struggle with cancer. So, headlines like 'Duchess of Excess' and stories about her alleged extraordinary profligate spending will hit her hard."

Meghan Markle will always face abuse for 'cashing in on being a royal' expert says

A former royal editor revealed that Meghan, who is a 'positive, upbeat person' will continue to be the centre of negativity online as people feel she has 'lost her credibility'. Meghan Markle still sees herself as a royal and a 'positive, upbeat person' despite the consistent backlash she faces online, a royal expert has explained. ‌ The 44-year-old was accused of turning her birthday celebrations last week into a PR stunt, but former royal editor Duncan Larcombe said she is always likely to 'attract negativity'. He told The Mirror: 'There seems to be two versions of her; one in America and one here, where she seems to be universally disliked.' ‌ Last week, her lifestyle brand, As Ever, shared a birthday tribute to her on Instagram. The caption read: 'Celebrating the woman behind it all. She pours her heart, vision & magic touch into every detail, and today, we raise a glass to her! Happy birthday to our founder @meghan.' ‌ Some social media users took to X where they posted comments such as: 'Meghan runs that account herself, yet here she is talking to herself in the third person.' Another person wrote: 'Only Meghan Markle devotes a post to herself.' She also faced heavy criticism online after a video of her dancing with Harry in a hospital room before giving birth went viral. Larcombe said of Meghan: 'She's a very emotional person and takes things personally, so it probably feels like she can't do anything right a lot of the time. She was heavily criticised for some of her recent videos, and when she goes quiet, she's criticised for that, too.' ‌ While Meghan sees herself as a 'very positive, upbeat person', Larcombe explained that the negativity continues to swirl around her 'because she's lost her credibility'. He added: 'She's a self-publicist, and that doesn't go down well with the British public. In her mind, she's a royal, but she isn't in terms of toeing the line.' She may have a successful lifestyle business, but she remains the subject of significant online negativity because 'she's seen as cashing in on being a royal'. Harry and Meghan have recently been perceived as trying to change the public's view on them and Larcombe said the couple, who share children Archi and Lilibet, are on a 'charm offensive'. He said: 'It's very much to make them appear like good guys who are trying to make friends, but I think they're doing it far too late.' Earlier this week, Meghan celebrated her birthday with a dinner at Funke LA. She shared a snap from the night and wrote: 'Blowing out the candles on a beautiful 24 hours, and thanking my husband, friends and family for making it so special.' She added in the caption: 'To those of you I don't know, but who send love every day - thank you so much. Please know I feel it and appreciate it.'
