England, Scotland and Wales hit 30C before heatwave starts easing
Although the hot weather continued on Sunday, temperatures did drop slightly as forecast.

Ross-on-Wye in Herefordshire hit 30.8C while Achnagart in the Scottish Highlands reached 30.4C, Cardiff's Bute Park 30.2C and Castlederg in Co Tyrone 27.1C.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: 'It's been another widely warm day today, not as hot as yesterday with cloudier skies for some.
'A change tomorrow with showers or longer spells of rain and turning fresher from the west.
'The heatwave is coming to an end for most of us today with fresher air arriving tomorrow, but south-eastern England could still see 30C tomorrow so still classed here.'
Tennis fans continued to grapple with the heat at Wimbledon following a few days where spectators needed medical attention amid high temperatures.

In response to the incidents, the All England Club said it significantly increased the number of on-screen communications and push notifications to remind guests to stay hydrated and seek respite from the sun.
The club also said service stewards on court have access to water for spectators in need, that on-site medical teams are ready to assist when required and that the grounds have more than 100 free water refill points as well as a pharmacy where guests can buy sunscreen.
Amber heat health alerts are in place for the Midlands and southern and eastern England until 9am on Monday, warning of the potential for a rise in deaths, particularly among those aged 65 and over or with health conditions.
Fire chiefs urged people to stay safe in the heatwave as they warned of the increased risk of wildfires and drowning, with the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) asking people not to enter water to try to cool down and urging parents and carers to ensure children are supervised around water at all times.

Firefighters in Surrey spent a second day on Sunday tackling a wildfire on Hankley Common in Thursley which is estimated to have destroyed 2.6 hectares of land.
The risk of wildfires in London is rated 'severe' by the Natural Hazards Partnership.
HM Coastguard also issued safety advice for people heading to the coast, as data from the water incident database shows most drownings happened in July over the last three years.
As well as the amber alerts, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has yellow alerts in place until Monday for the North East, North West and Yorkshire and Humber.
Yorkshire Water brought in restrictions on using hosepipes for activities such as watering the garden, cleaning cars and filling paddling pools, on Friday, as part of efforts to protect supplies in the face of yet more dry weather forecast for the coming weeks.

South East Water said demand for drinking water had reached 'record levels since May' and announced impending restrictions which will mean customers in Kent and Sussex are banned from using a hosepipe to water gardens and plants, clean vehicles, fill swimming pools or ponds or clean paths, walls or windows from July 18.
Those who ignore the bans could face fines of up to £1,000.
National Rail warned train passengers that the hot weather may cause disruption this weekend.
Meanwhile, the RNLI warned beachgoers that, despite the heat, there is still a risk of cold water shock.

There are some clever techniques for keeping cool with instant results The UK has been hit with soaring temperatures in recent weeks, with signs of another heatwave just around the corner. England had its warmest June on record, according to provisional Met Office statistics, with the hottest day of the year recorded with temperatures surpassing 34C in some parts of the country. While it has cooled off over the past couple of days after a scorching weekend, forecasters predict warm weather to return on Wednesday, with highs of 27C. Some people love nothing more than basking in the sunshine; however, for many, the heat can prove a struggle, making getting to sleep and trying to stay cool difficult. Luckily, there are many tried-and-tested methods for coping with warmer-than-usual weather in Britain. Resooma, a platform that helps renters set up bills for their next home, shared a series of hacks on its TikTok channel, leaving its followers thrilled. One user described one method as "brilliant," while another said the tips were just what they needed, Express reports. The video contained five tricks, with the first being to place a bowl of ice in front of a fan. The commentator suggested it would "distribute cold air around the room." It also advised Brits to keep windows closed during hot weather, even if it feels counterintuitive. Demonstrating the tip, the video was overlaid with the words: "Shut out the heat". The narrator added: "Keep the heat out by shutting windows and closing curtains, just remember to open them at night time to let the cooler air in." They also suggested placing a damp tea towel in the freezer for about half an hour. When placed on your skin, the frozen fabric would "instantly" cool you down, providing some short-lived relief from the heat. Online parenting expert Harriet Shearsmith also advocates for the chilled tea towel method to cool down her children. In a post for her blog, Toby & Roo, Harriet, who is mum to Reuben, Tobias, and Edith, revealed that she always has an 'ice towel' to hand, which works wonders when her little ones are struggling. She simply takes one of her towels from the bathroom cupboard and creates her own DIY cooling hack. Explaining how her followers could follow suit, Harriet, who wrote the parenting book Mummin' It, said: "I've actually just made one of these and whacked it in the freezer for when the kids come home, as I know Reuben is going to be finding it tough. "It's exactly as it sounds – put a towel in cool water, wring it out until it's damp and then put it in the freezer – keep repeating. Drape over shoulders for a cooling effect, or hold against your head. This is also a good one if you're feeling sick, to be honest." Another trick for those in need of an immediate way to cool down is by putting your forearms in cold, running water. The narrator from Resooma continued: "A quick way to bring down your body temperature is to run your forearms under cold water."

A fire service has invested in new equipment and training amid concerns climate change could cause more Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has said weather patterns are leading to conditions that make the spread of wildfires more the last week alone - as temperatures have topped 32C (89.6F) - firefighters in Northamptonshire have fought field fires in Corby and Spokes, from the police and fire joint operations team, described it as "a challenge". On Tuesday, the National Drought Group - made up of the Environment Agency (EA), government, Met Office, water companies and others - announced Northamptonshire had entered a status of prolonged dry weather - the category below IPCC has said extreme, long-lasting heat draws more moisture out of soils and dry conditions provide fuel for fires, which can spread at an incredible speed, particularly if winds are Met Office has warned the UK is breaking heat and rainfall records increasingly frequently as its climate continues to warm. Mr Spokes, a risk intelligence officer for the joint operations team, said: "We are dealing with more and more wildfire incidents due to the climate emergency."He told BBC Radio Northampton it had led to investment "in a lot more training for those type of incidents".He said the new gear included a response vehicle specifically for wildfires and equipment for Spokes said if firefighters were dealing with wildfires it diverted from them other incidents - and neighbouring fire services may have to step into added the service was "investing heavily to meet those challenges". He said: "Tom McKibbin should be really looking forward to this week, being a member here and being from Northern Ireland. He's a fantastic young man. For a 24-year-old to be as calm and collected as he is is quite phenomenal. The warning impacts all of NI and the Met Office have said the storms "could produce 15-20 mm of rain in less than an hour, with a few spots seeing 30-40 mm in a few hours. Isolated hail and lightning strikes will be additional hazards." It could certainly cause problems not just here but across NI as the Met Office says driving conditions and public transport could be impacted, flooding of some homes and businesses is possible along with loss of power.
