On Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 12:12 a.m. ET, a countdown on Swift's website ticked down to zero, revealing the major news: The Life of a Showgirl is available for pre-order. A release date and the album cover art have not yet been unveiled.

Swifties had been speculating about a new album for months. But things ramped up on Monday, Aug. 11, when the "Shake It Off" singer's team posted a cryptic update on the Taylor Nation Instagram account.
"Thinking about when she said 'See you next era…' ❤️🔥," the post read alongside a carousel of 12 pictures of Swift, 35, donned orange outfits during her wildly popular Eras Tour.
Adding to the hype, Swift's boyfriend, , posted a teaser for a mystery guest on this Wednesday's episode of New Heights, the podcast he hosts with his brother, .
An Instagram post from New Heights declared, "92%ers, we're coming back early for a special episode with a VERY special guest. New episode Wednesday 7PM ET."
Immediately, Swifties suspected the guest would be Swift based on the silhouette and the orange background.
A few hours later, the podcast confirmed that Swift would join the Kelce brothers on Wednesday, Aug. 13. A follow-up Instagram post showed the "So High School" singer sitting next to her Kansas City Chiefs tight end beau while wearing a pair of black headphones.
"Such a nice color on you," Swift told Kelce, who donned a blue polo shirt in the clip.
To that, the NFL star replied, "Yes, I know. It's the color of your eyes, sweetie. It's why we match so well."
Swift then exclaimed, "We're about to do a f--king podcast!"
Just after midnight, Swift confirmed her new album in another New Heights sneak peek clip.
"So I wanted to show you something," she declared while pulling out a briefcase. "This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl!"
On X, Swifties enthusiastically reacted to Swift's 12th album news.
One exclaimed, "I CANNOT WAITTTTTT."
Someone else wrote, "OH MY GOD."
Another echoed, "THIS IS INSANE," as a different X user demanded to know, "OUT WHEN OUT WHENNNN."

While I wouldn't recommend watching this movie with your family, Basic Instinct is the addictive erotic thriller that today's audiences have been begging for more of. After the capture of Commander Pike (Bruce Greenwood), Kirk takes it upon himself to save the galaxy from the villainous Nero (Eric Bana). Charlie Sheen is addressing his scandalous past in a new Netflix documentary, which features appearances from some very surprising people in his life. Netflix released a first look of the doc on Wednesday, August 13, in which Sheen, 59, spoke to filmmaker Andrew Renzi about his rise to stardom — and hitting rock bottom amid addiction struggles. Sean Penn, Heidi Fleiss and Chris Tucker were also featured in the documentary trailer before Sheen's former drug dealer, Marco, spoke about the actor "smoking seven gram rocks." It is a two-part special that highlights Sheen's childhood in Malibu, his success in the '80s and '90s, and his personal life making headlines due to drug use over the years.
