In a chat with
Friday Talkies
, Pallavi fondly remembered how her brother meticulously observed Bachchan's performance. When Alankar noticed the senior actor tying a knot in his shirt during a scene, he requested the director's permission to mirror the gesture. That eye for detail was a testament to his dedication and intuitive understanding of his craft, even at a very young age.

The End of an Era and a Shift in Direction
Despite his success as a child artist, Alankar found it difficult to make the transition to adult roles in the film industry. According to Pallavi Joshi, he did explore acting opportunities as an adult but soon realized that the admiration he once enjoyed as a child actor wouldn't easily follow him into maturity. He later experimented with direction and production in the
Marathi entertainment
sector, and while he did well, his true interests lay elsewhere.
Alongside his film work, Alankar always maintained a strong focus on academics. Understanding the fickle nature of fame, he pursued education diligently to ensure he had a backup career. That foresight eventually led him to the software industry.
Reinvention in the Tech World
Eventually stepping away from films, Alankar moved to the United States and entered the tech field. He worked for two years at a software company before launching his own firm with a friend. That venture turned out to be a major success. According to
Financial Express,
his current net worth stands at an estimated Rs 200 crore. He has now been living in the U.S. for over three decades.
A Family Rooted in Creativity
Creativity continues to thrive in Alankar's family. His twin daughters have both chosen careers in acting, making a mark in the Hollywood industry. His son, meanwhile, is pursuing his passion for music and is an aspiring singer. One of his daughters, Anuja Joshi, is particularly known for her work in both India and the U.S., including her role in the psychological thriller web series Hello Mini, streamed on Amazon MX Player.
Alankar's extended family is equally entrenched in the arts. His elder sister, Padmashri Joshi, is a respected actor in the Marathi film scene, and his brother-in-law, Vivek Agnihotri, is a well-known filmmaker.
Reflecting on a Fulfilling Life
In a 2024 conversation with
Times Now,
Alankar reflected on his early acting years with fondness and pride. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work with legendary figures in Indian cinema and described himself as a former athlete—once in the game, now retired, but remembered for his highlights. When asked if he missed the glitz of showbiz, he calmly stated that the allure of fame never defined him. He had always been close enough to the spotlight to appreciate it without craving its intensity.
Alankar Joshi's life is a rare blend of early fame, reinvention, and grounded success. From the bustling sets of Bollywood classics to the tech corridors of America, he has charted a path that blends passion with pragmatism, leaving behind a legacy not just of memorable performances, but of wise choices and lasting fulfillment.
