Picklebay India Tour sells out in Bengaluru with 300+ registrations for pickleball
The two-day tournament will be held on 28th and 29th June at GoRally, Whitefield, one of the city's premier pickleball venues, as per a press release from Picklebay.
With over 300 player registrations, the Bengaluru edition is completely sold out, prompting organisers to close entries well ahead of schedule--a testament to the sport's booming popularity and Picklebay's rising influence in India's sports landscape.
Players from across the country, including Chennai, Kerala, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and more, will compete in Singles and Doubles categories for both men and women, with divisions for Beginners, Intermediates, and Advanced players. The tournament also boasts a prize pool of Rs 2.5 lakh, to be awarded to winners from the semi-final stage onwards.
Adding to the tournament's stature, some of India's top-ranked pickleball players will also take part, setting the stage for two days of high-calibre competition and community celebration.
'The energy we witnessed in Mumbai was electric, and Bengaluru has taken it up a notch. Selling out over 300 spots well before the deadline shows that the hunger for structured, inclusive pickleball is real and growing,' said Siddhant Jatia, Founder & CEO of Picklebay.
'With the Picklebay India Tour, our vision is to build more than just a competitive platform--we're building a national movement. Bengaluru is the perfect example of how this sport is catching fire, city by city, player by player,' he added.

The dramatic behind-the-scenes encounter echoes the emotions that have boiled over in the past two Tests in London and Manchester. In the third Test at Lord's, temperament frayed, fingers were pointed, emotions ran thin as the element of spice entered the picture. The final Test of the high-stakes series is set to begin on Thursday. England, who had started the series as favourites, have been caught off guard by a resilient Indian side that has fought back strongly after an early setback. Gambhir, known for wearing his heart on his sleeve, has always stood up for his team, be it as a player or now in his new role as coach. With just one match left in the series, England leading 2-1, both teams will be looking to end on a high, but the flare-up at The Oval has certainly added a new layer of drama ahead of the final showdown.

TCA brands entire HCA Council members ‘fraudsters' amidst audit scandal
Hyderabad: The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) today alleged that the entire Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) Apex Council members, including the stalwart members who control HCA affairs, are fraudsters. Dharam Guruva Reddy, TCA general secretary, claimed that HCA members had 'copy pasted' the 2022-23 Financial Year Audit into the 2023-24 audit, asserting there was 'nothing new and no accountability.' Listing out the spending of the last two summer camps, Guruva Reddy stated that the money sent was Rs 15 lakh to each district two times in 2024 and 2025 as claimed by HCA. However, he noted that HCA books reflected, as claimed by the present HCA Body, that they sent Rs 20 lakh and Rs 25 lakh two times in 2024 and 2025 to each district. 'Which one is correct?' he questioned. The TCA general secretary called for investigating agencies to cross-check the HCA 2023-24 Audit report. He highlighted that while it was dated for the June 29 Annual General Meeting (AGM) presentation, the entire audit and material were from 2022-23, and all AGM attendees passed it without any questions. In a recent development, HCA president A Jagan Mohan Rao, Secretary R Devraj, and Treasurer CJ Srinivasa Rao were suspended at the Apex Council meeting. This is seen as a critical decision taken by the Apex Council, having reportedly followed the rules by digging deep and taking action against three office bearers who were facing criminal charges in a CID case by the government.
