For months,
José Adolfo Macías
(also known as "
Fito
") had Ecuador on edge. The notorious
Los Choneros
gang boss escaped from prison, causing a wave of violence across the country. Now that he's been captured, President Daniel Noboa promises to "reclaim the country" from the grip of terror.
Why was Fito so feared in Ecuador?
Ecuador's most wanted man, José Adolfo "Fito" Macías, is the boss of the brutal Los Choneros gang. In 2011, the criminal gang leader was found guilty of drug trafficking, murder, and other offenses and given a 34-year prison sentence.
Following a nationwide manhunt, authorities have finally arrested him. President Daniel Noboa of Ecuador announced that the gang leader of Los Choneros, who had been on the run for almost 18 months, had been arrested.

No fair at FaguBaba's shrine asSec 163 imposed

Gorakhpur: Authorities have prohibited the weekly fair at the 105-year-old Fagu Baba's shrine in Badliya village under the Itwa police station following objections raised by former BJP MLA Raghvendra Pratap Singh. The move came after Singh claimed that the site is not a Sufi dargah but the samadhi (tomb) of a Hindu man named Fagu Prasad. The former MLA alleged that occult practices and monetary exploitation were taking place at the shrine where women from outside the region would stay for extended periods. "We had informed the administration. They took the right steps and we are satisfied," Singh said, adding that they had planned to recite the Hanuman Chalisa at the site on Thursday. However, after the announcement of recital of the Hanuman Chalisa by Singh, heavy police force was deployed at the spot on Thursday morning. SDM, Dumariyaganj, Sanjeev Dixit imposed Section 163 BNSS to prevent gatherings. "Based on police and CO Itwa's reports, it was found that exorcism-like activities were being conducted regularly. The land also falls under charagah (pasture) category and legal action will be taken," Dixit stated. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Neuropatia incomodando à noite? She said: "The shrine is a symbol of Hindu-Muslim unity. I will collect all legal documents related to the dargah and move court if required. People's faith is attached to the place, especially women, who gather here every Thursday. I will fight for their belief."

NDA netas, PK take a swipe at Tejashwi

Patna: Functionaries of the ruling NDA and Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor on Thursday launched a scathing attack on RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav after he promised to "transform Bihar in 20 months". Speaking at an event in Bihta to mark the 75th death anniversary of Swami Sahajanand Saraswati, deputy CM Samrat Choudhary and water resources minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary ridiculed the outreach, suggesting the youth of Bihar still remember the state of governance under the 15-year tenure of RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his family. Prashant Kishor, addressing the reporters in Ara, said, "Tejashwi thinks he will reach the seat of power by distributing pens. While the educated youth of Bihar are roaming unemployed, a ninth fail wants to become the king of Bihar by distributing pens." Kishor went on to question the RJD leader's track record. "His parents were chief ministers for 15 years. He himself was the deputy CM for three years. Yet less than 5% of children from Dalit, backward and Muslim communities are able to pass the 12th exams. Tejashwi should answer first," he said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Cervecería Nacional CFD: Calcula cuánto podrías ganar invirtiendo solo $100 Empieza a invertir Inscríbete ahora Undo The BJP also dismissed Tejashwi's promises as hollow rhetoric. "The youth in Bihar are now intellectually awakened and can see through the sugar-coated traps of political deception crafted for elections by Tejashwi," said BJP state media head Danish Eqbal. JD(U) spokesperson Manish Yadav echoed similar criticism, calling Tejashwi's talk on jobs and education "ridiculous." "When the leader of opposition addresses the youth, it is ironic. During the tenure of his parents, the appointment process itself was mired in corruption. Jobs were not given, they were auctioned," he alleged.

Muzaffarnagar carpet traders brutally assaulted in U'khand hills

Agra/Dehradun: A carpet trader from Muzaffarnagar was allegedly assaulted, robbed and threatened by a group of men during a work trip to Nainital's Mukteshwar area on June 17. The attack took place when the trader was travelling with his brother to deliver carpets in his car. Mohammad Waseem Qureshi, 27, resident of Khatauli in Muzaffarnagar, told TOI that he had been frequently travelling across the hill state for the past 10 years. "This was also one of our routine trips. I and my brother, Fardeen Qureshi, 20, were driving to Mukteshwar around 11am with carpets for sale when a middle-aged man on a motorcycle stopped us." He added that the man asked for their Aadhaar cards and the verification letter traders get from the police. "The moment he read our names, his tone changed. He began abusing us, hurled religious slurs, and said people from our community were not allowed here," Waseem said. He added that the verbal abuse quickly turned into a violent assault. "The man pulled a sharp object, possibly a sickle, from his bike and struck me in the back. Bleeding profusely, I turned the car around to return to Haldwani, but by the time, the attacker had called his associates. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Soon, 5-6 men blocked the road using stones and vehicles. They surrounded my car. I told my brother to run for his life. I pleaded with them to let me go. I promised never to come back. But they didn't stop," Waseem said. He added that he was repeatedly thrashed, and one of the attackers then tried to strangle him with a dog leash. "My car was vandalised, Rs 4,800 in cash was taken, and carpets worth Rs 40,000-50,000 were looted. The men fled only after an elderly woman intervened on our behalf." Waseem said that he somehow reached Haldwani and filed a police complaint at Banphoolpura. A zero FIR was registered under BNS sections of "robbery" and "voluntarily causing hurt", and the case was transferred to Mukteshwar police station, which initiated a probe. On Thursday, Uttarakhand police called Waseem to record his statement, but he said he was reluctant to go there without security. "I will go only with police protection. I've never experienced anything like this in my life," he said. Bhowali circle officer, Pramod Singh, under whose jurisdiction Mukteshwar thana falls, said, "A probe was launched soon after receiving the case from Banphoolpura police station. So far, we have identified four suspects who were summoned for questioning in the matter. Proper legal action would be taken as the investigation proceeds."
