Forgot that tune? Circle to Search now remembers your previous song searches
TL;DR Google is rolling out Song Search history to Circle to Search.
Tapping on the new icon will open a page with your past searches, complete with song titles, thumbnails, and artist information.
The feature is available on Android in the beta and stable channels.
Finding out the name of a song or the artist behind it is as easy as bringing up Circle to Search and activating Song Search. But what if you want to listen to a song you previously searched for, but you can't remember anything about it? That won't be a problem going forward, as Circle to Search now has a Song Search history feature.
We've been keeping an eye on this feature for a while now, first spotting that it was in development back in February. While the Song Search history view wasn't operational at the time, it did start rolling out for beta testers in April. We then reported in June that Google planned to add a new icon to Circle to Search that would serve as a shortcut to this page. Now, the shortcut is rolling out in both the beta and stable channels with version 16.27.
To access Song Search history, activate Circle to Search and tap on the music note icon in the search bar to start up Song Search. There should be a clock icon in the top right corner of the screen. Tap on this icon and you'll be taken to the 'Recent song searches' page.
On this page, you'll see your past searches, complete with song titles, thumbnails, and artist information. The songs are separated by month, in groups of up to 10. At the bottom of the page, you'll also find a 'Show full history' button. Tapping on this button will take you to a new page where you can see all of the songs you previously searched for, minus the thumbnail art.

Google Maps is rolling out a new look for the listing page (APK teardown)
Rita El Khoury / Android Authority TL;DR Google Maps is getting a few UI tweaks for the listing page. The 'Popular times' section for a location has moved above the reviews section. The options for suggesting an edit, measuring distance, adding a missing place, and adding your business now have proper buttons. When you search for a place in Google Maps, say the Eiffel Tower, you'll see a listing page right under the map. The overview tab on that page contains a variety of information you may want to know, like ticket information, open and closing times, and the best times to visit. It appears Google plans to give this page a bit of a makeover. Authority Insights story on Android Authority. Discover You're reading anstory on Android Authority. An APK teardown helps predict features that may arrive on a service in the future based on work-in-progress code. However, it is possible that such predicted features may not make it to a public release. In Google Maps (version 25.29.00.782600971), we noticed a couple of UI tweaks to the overview tab on the listing page. First and foremost, we see that a Material 3 Expressive-like card interface has been adopted. Previously, each piece of information was separated by lines. Old UI Old UI dark mode New UI New UI dark mode You may have also noticed in these screenshots that the 'Popular times' section has been relocated. Before the update, this section appeared under the review summaries. Now it has switched places, appearing right above the reviews portion. Old UI The last change we spotted deals with the options for suggesting an edit, measuring distance, adding a missing place, and adding your business to Google Maps. These options appear in the overview tab when searching for a particular place, such as a city/country, instead of a business. As you can see in the comparison screenshots above, all four of these options are now shown as proper buttons. This wasn't the news we discovered through an APK teardown today. We also spotted that Files by Google could soon improve its search filters. Additionally, Google may give Gemini's overlay a new bouncy animation. Got a tip? Talk to us! OpenAI says ChatGPT users send over 2.5 billion prompts every day
OpenAI's ChatGPT sees more than 2.5 billion requests daily, with 330 million from users based in the US, according to data obtained by Axios. The data suggests that ChatGPT users send over 912.5 billion requests to the AI chatbot each year. Although ChatGPT still has a way to go to catch up to Google's 5 trillion annual searches, its rapid growth still poses a major threat to the search giant. In the span of just a few months, ChatGPT's weekly users spiked from 300 million last December to more than 500 million in March. The Verge reached out to OpenAI with a request for comment, but didn't immediately hear back. Earlier this month, a report from Reuters suggested that OpenAI is preparing to release an AI-powered web browser in the coming weeks, which will directly compete with Google Chrome. The company took a step toward this milestone with last week's launch of ChatGPT Agent, a tool that can complete tasks on your computer for you.

Chrome for iOS makes it easier to switch between work and personal Google accounts
Google announced Monday that it's introducing a new feature that lets iOS users easily switch between work and personal Google accounts in Chrome. Previously, iOS users had to completely sign out of a Google account and then log in with another, and repeat this process every time they want to access a different account. 'People often use their mobile device for both work and personal tasks, requiring them to sign in and out with different Google accounts,' the company wrote in a blog post. 'To simplify this experience while tightening security, Chrome on iOS is now offering seamless account switching with data separation for managed accounts.' When users sign in or switch to their work Google account in Chrome, browsing related to their organization will be kept separate from their other browsing on the device. Local data and content, including tabs, history, and passwords stay only within the managed account browsing experience. Google says this is ideal for both end users and IT admins. The update comes as Google says many organizations are moving away from company phones, which means employees often have to access company resources from their personal phones and computers. Google says the improved account switching experience and data separation 'better enables businesses to allow employees to use their device of choice.' The first time users sign in or switch to a managed account, they will see an onboarding screen that explains the separation of managed account browsing and how their organization is handling their data. Organizations maintain control and can decide how existing browsing data is handled when a user initially signs in or switches to a managed account. Once users switch to their managed account, they are notified that they're entering a managed experience. Google also announced that it has incorporated more advanced security features that IT departments can implement. Chrome Enterprise's reporting capabilities are now extending to both Android and iOS, which means organizations can now send critical data related to security events to the security investigation tool in the Google Admin console, Chrome logs, or the SIEM of their choice. Google says this allows IT teams to make more informed decisions about overall security. Google is also bringing URL filtering to iOS, allowing organizations to do things like block employees from visiting prohibited GenAI sites at a category level and redirect them to the approved corporate services.
