Hari Hara Veera Mallu Day 2 Box Office: Pawan Kalyan Film Drops Sharply, Earns Rs 8 Crore

Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan, dropped 77% on Day 2, earning Rs 8 crore after a strong Rs 34.75 crore debut, dampening expectations despite its grand production. Despite a thunderous debut at the box office, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan, saw a significant dip in its collections on Day 2. The historical action drama, which had generated immense buzz ahead of its release, collected just Rs 8 crore (net) on Friday, following its strong Rs 34.75 crore opening on Thursday. This marks a steep 77 per cent drop in day-on-day earnings, according to data from industry tracker Sacnilk. The Telugu-language epic, which also features Bobby Deol in a key role, recorded an overall occupancy of 24.42 per cent on Friday. While morning shows saw a sluggish 17.75 per cent turnout, audience interest picked up marginally in the evening, peaking at 32.53 per cent during night screenings. Among the cities, Mahbubnagar led the charts with a 45.25 per cent occupancy rate, followed by Warangal and Hyderabad at 31.50 per cent and 28.75 per cent, respectively. Although the film was released in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, its primary traction continues to come from the Telugu-speaking regions. The non-Telugu versions have received only limited screenings so far. With a production budget reportedly around Rs 300 crore and years of development behind it, the film was expected to be one of the year's biggest crowd-pullers. However, its second-day performance has dampened those expectations. This trend of strong openings followed by sharp declines has been observed in Kalyan's recent films as well. His 2023 release Bro began with Rs 30 crore but capped at Rs 83 crore domestically. Similarly, Bheemla Nayak (2022) and Vakeel Saab (2021) also witnessed opening day highs of over Rs 37 crore, but closed at just over Rs 100 crore each. In terms of 2025 releases, Hari Hara Veera Mallu failed to surpass Ram Charan's Game Changer. The film opened to a collection of Rs 51 crore. However, Pawan Kalyan's latest release has left behind some successful films like Daaku Maharaaj (Rs 25.35 crore), Sankranthiki Vasthunam (Rs 23 crore) and Kuberaa (Rs 14.75 crore). Set in the Mughal era, the story of the epic drama follows Pawan Kalyan's Veera Mallu, an outlaw who challenges the empire. Bobby Deol plays Aurangzeb, whereas Nidhhi Agerwal essays the role of devadasi Panchami. Produced by AM Rathnam and music by MM Keeravaani, the film is nothing short of a grand spectacle.
