DJ Paul Clarifies Three 6 Mafia's 'Satanist' Claims
During his recent appearance on the Dumb Blonde Podcast, the 48-year-old spoke on the origins of the group's name and how it became associated with the devil. 'Basically Lord Infamous said it in a song and I liked that and I was like, 'Whoa, that's dope,'' he began.
Paul continued, 'I started sampling it and that became really popular with us, but that still wasn't our name. I was just sampling and then it was time to form a group, I was like, 'We should call ourselves Triple 6 Mafia,' and everybody liked it. And then next thing I know, white fans came like that. [snapped] They flocked to us.'
Paul was asked if Infamous toyed with Satanism, and he laughed. 'No. He was just high,' he noted. 'That n***a grew up singing 'Amazing Grace' in church and I was playing the organ. We was in the church every Sunday in Mississippi.'
Of the association, Paul added, 'It was just an image. It was just something that was cool. We never studied Satan or nothing like that. I don't know nothing about all that.'
Crunchy Black, though, once opened up about a 'deal he made with the devil.'
Origin story aside, Juicy J spoke on the Oscar-winning group's influence, calling them the 'greatest group of all time' in 2023.
On X, he tweeted, 'Peace & love to Three6Mafia. Great to witness our Music still going strong like it never [left], people across the world sampling & remaking the songs we are grateful thank you All #greatestgroupofalltime.'

Less than three decades after arriving in the Big Apple and becoming a household name, Dylan bought himself a home in Harlem. The neighborhood's famed jazz and blues traditions inspired Dylan throughout his career. The Nobel Prize-winning songwriter spent years at the 4,500-square-foot property, but there's little to show for it beyond a deed. It was designed by the prolific Gilded Age architect Stanford White, whose Renaissance Revival-style defined the luxury buildings of his era. The spacious property includes a 19-foot salon, a large eat-in kitchen and a massive parlor floor. The well-preserved five-bedroom's classical details, like period moldings, hardwood floors, pocket doors and soaring ceilings, are balanced out by the modern luxuries of Gaggenau appliances and heated floors. Colin Montgomery and Stan Ponte of Sotheby's International Realty hold the listing. The current owners of the townhome, Isam Salah and Elaina Richardson, purchased it for $3.17 million in 2018, according to city records. Salah, a retired attorney, and Richardson, the former editor in chief of Elle magazine, are selling to focus on their lives upstate, the Journal reported. They purchased the home in part because they admired its well-preserved details, including an original range stove and a 4-foot-tall safe, which they use as a bar. The connection to Dylan is not lost on the couple, however. Richardson told the Journal that small tour groups occasionally stop outside the home, but said that the dedicated fans are pretty sedate.

It's truly a beautiful sight to witness, as Hollywood has not always been welcoming to our melanated queens. Before the 1950s, Black actresses were rarely seen on the big screen, and when they did appear, their roles were often relegated to harmful stereotypes, failing to capture the full breadth of the Black experience. The Civil Rights movement ushered in a new page for Black female stars, where their roles began to expand to include ' more diverse' and 'complex character development,' according to Duke University Libraries.
