BYU's AJ Dybantsa soars as college basketball's top NIL earner
AJ Dybantsa is settling in for his only season in Provo.
The top five-star college basketball player in this year's class has wrapped up his time at Utah Prep and looks to contribute early at BYU.
While he passed on traditional powerhouse programs to be under Kevin Young's guidance, there were no mistakes in the process. Dybantsa will get NBA-style coaching before heading off to the league next year. Before that happens, he'll be one of the top NIL earners in the country.

Dybantsa was ranked No. 5 on the latest NIL valuation list, according to On3. His total is noted at $3.8 million, which is on the lower end. He also recently denied receiving a $7 million payout from BYU during the McDonald's All-American Game last month.

With Duke's Cooper Flagg moving on to the NBA, Dybantsa will move up at least one spot to become the top college basketball earner.
At 6-foot-9, Dybantsa has elite athleticism and a demanding court presences, giving him a comparison to Kevin Garnett. The versatile forward is already generating buzz from his play in the Nike Hoop Summit and Jordan Brand Classic.

Young has openly stated his vision of transforming BYU into a NBA feeder program and that starts with building around Dybantsa. He's getting Baylor transfer guard Robert Wright with him next year. The top floor general from the 2024 recruiting class will be a great addition in the Cougars' projected starting five, along with Dybantsa, Richie Saunders, Keba Keita, and Kennard Davis Jr.

Should the Boston Celtics try to get Stanford big Maxime Raynaud in the 2025 NBA draft?
Should the Boston Celtics try to get Stanford big Maxime Raynaud in the 2025 NBA draft? Should the Boston Celtics try to select Stanford big man Maxime Raynaud in the 2025 NBA draft? The 7-foot-1 center is a bit older than many prospects who are projected to go in the first round of the draft or near it, but for the purposes of a Celtics squad looking to get players capable of playing at least some time at the NAB level right out of the gate, that may actually be a bit of a plus. The 22-year-old is a solid rebounder and rim protector who can also hit a shot at a good rate from beyond the arc, and makes up for a shorter wingspan with his natural height and smart positioning on the court. The hosts of the CLNS Media "How Bout Them Celtics!" podcast, Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance, took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk over the wisdom of drafting Raynaud. Check it out below! If you enjoy this pod, check out the "How Bout Them Celtics," "First to the Floor," and the many other New England sports podcasts available on the CLNS Media network:

Nets to work out Tennessee's Chaz Lanier ahead of 2025 NBA Draft
The Brooklyn Nets still have a couple of months before they have to figure out what they are going to with their picks in the upcoming 2025 NBA Draft in June. As of this writing, Brooklyn has five draft picks, meaning that they will have plenty of players to sift through and one way to do that is to bring prospective players in for workouts ahead of the Draft. The Nets will be bringing in Tennessee guard Chaz Lanier for a predraft workout on Thursday, according to ClutchPoints' Erik Slater on Wednesday. Lanier is regarded as one of the best shooters in the class as he shot 39.5% from three-point land this past season for Tennessee and had that kind of accuracy from deep on 8.2 attempts per game. Advertisement Lanier, listed at 6-foot-4 and 206 pounds, seems to be regarded as a player that will definitely be taken in the second of the Draft if Jonathan Wasserman's latest mock draft for Bleacher Report is any indication. Wasserman predicted that Lanier would be taken by the Detroit Pistons with the 37th overall pick, implying that Lanier should be safely-regarded as a player to not last deep into the second round. "Chaz Lanier finished second at the NBA combine in aggregate shooting, unsurprising based on his 229 made threes over the past two seasons. NBA teams that could use more offensive firepower will look past age and lack of versatility for such advanced shotmaking," Wasserman wrote. Lanier, who Wasserman compares to Seth Curry and Alex Burks, would be a player for the Nets to target after they finished last season shooting just 34.4% from deep, good for 25th in the league. Lanier had quite the senior season for the Volunteers as he was named a Wooden All-American as well as being named All-SEC. Lanier came away from the 2024-25 season after averaging 18.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game while shooting 43.1% from the field and the aforementioned 39.5% behind the three-point arc. Brooklyn has the 36th overall pick to use in the second round if Lanier impresses in his workout.
