Dayton's own wins 3rd place in state fair art contest
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — In a competition to determine the poster(s) for this year's Ohio State Fair, one of the best designs is thanks to someone who calls Dayton home.
The results of a poster contest put on by the state expo center were recently announced and five people were recognized for their artistic merit.
One of those five is Dayton's own Cassie Browning, who designed the piece below.
Browning's design ultimately won third place in the contest.

Maria Stein Shrine's 15th annual art show coming soon
Previous coverage on Maria Stein. DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The 15th Annual Maria Stein Shrine's Art Show is coming up soon. The event will be held at the Maria Stein Shrine of the Holy Relics on 2291 St. John's Rd. It will start on Tuesday, June 17 and run through Monday, June 30. The gallery will be in the Upper Room (on the third floor). 'A big loss': Church steeple, roof collapse in massive Maria Stein fire There will be a fine selection of art on display, some of which will be for sale. Attendees can cast a vote for their favorite piece, which will receive the People's Choice Award. There will be art in three categories. Painting: which is oils, acrylics, water media and watercolors. Drawing: which is graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, pastels and pen/ink. Three-dimensional: which is glass works, ceramics and sculptures. The Maria Stein community was recently rocked by a devastating fire at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Chris Tomlin, Matthew West announced as headliners for RiseFest
SHELDON, Iowa (KCAU) — Ready for music festivals this summer? For Christian music-lovers, there's a music festival coming to Sheldon, Iowa. RiseFest, this year, is June 20 and 21. On Friday, June 20, the main stage will feature the following artists: Matthew West, Rend Collective, Patrick Mayberry, and Allison Eide. The following day, June 21, the main stage will welcome: Chris Tomlin, Crowder, KB, Megan Woods, and a few worship services. Interested in more festivals?
