In a moment that has rock fans around the world reaching for tissues, Lita Ford delivered the most poignant tribute to Ozzy Osbourne from the most meaningful place possible – right outside his hometown of Birmingham, England.
The former Runaways guitarist shared a touching Instagram post featuring a throwback photo from 1988, when she and Ozzy recorded their unforgettable duet "Close My Eyes Forever." Ford's caption captured the surreal nature of performing in Wolverhampton, just outside Birmingham, writing that their iconic ballad "takes on a whole different meaning now."
Ford's tribute wasn't just about mourning a legend – it was about celebrating the eternal power of rock music. Her message, "Great rock stars never die," resonated deeply with fans who flooded her comments with their own memories of the beloved duet that became Ozzy's first and only Top 10 hit.
The timing couldn't have been more emotionally charged. According to Rolling Stone, Ford was performing at K.K. Downing's club in Birmingham when she posted the tribute, preparing to deliver what would become her most wrenching live performance of "Close My Eyes Forever." The 66-year-old rocker admitted the performance would be "really emotional," especially surrounded by the beautiful stage set created in Ozzy's honor.
Their collaboration story reads like rock folklore. In 1987, after Sharon Osbourne dropped off a life-size gorilla as a housewarming gift, Ozzy stayed behind at Record One Studios in Los Angeles. By sunrise, the two had crafted something "bruised, delicate, and timeless" in a cramped room with just a keyboard and amp.Ford's relationship with Ozzy stretched back to her teenage years, when Black Sabbath provided the soundtrack to her musical awakening. She attended her first Black Sabbath concert in 1972 as a teenager, and even her parents became fans, with her mother regularly requesting she play "War Pigs."

Veterans return to Scotland for ‘magical' visit to Edinburgh Tattoo

Three veterans who served in the Second World War have attended the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo during a trip to Scotland for a 'return to places of deep personal meaning' organised by a charity. Eugeniusz Niedzielski, 101, Don Turrell, 100, and Dorothea Barron, 100, attend the pageantry event at Edinburgh Castle during their trip to Scotland, organised by the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans. They described the Tattoo as 'the icing on the cake' after seeing the show on Tuesday evening. The visit was organised after Mr Turrell, who lives in Frinton-on-Sea in Essex, disclosed it was his 'final wish' to return to Scotland, where he had served in the Cameronians, and he vowed to come back next year. Polish veteran Mr Niedzielski was 'delighted' to watch the Band of the Polish Border Guard, according to organisers. He served with the 1st Armoured Polish Division, and during the visit spent time with the Polish Community in Edinburgh, and also attended a Catholic Mass and a memorial service to his fallen comrades. Ms Barron, who served in the Women's Royal Naval Service (WRNS), returned to the site of her former barracks at Port Edgar, now a housing development and had a tour of Campbeltown, while Mr Turrell visited the Cameronians Museum and the Ben Nevis Distillery. He said the visit was 'unforgettable', and also described the Tattoo as 'magical'. Mr Turrell said: 'It was breathtaking – from the stirring opening to the grand finale. When the pipers emerged through the smoke, I thought the procession would never end – it was magical. 'It's been absolutely wonderful – and I'm coming back next year.' Colin Mills, chairman of the Taxi Charity, said: 'Since 1948, the Taxi Charity has supported thousands of veterans, arranging free trips to the Netherlands and France for acts of commemoration, as well as days out to museums, concerts, and social events across the UK. 'This trip to Scotland was inspired when Don quietly shared with me that his last wish was to return there. We were determined to make it happen – and in doing so, we've not only fulfilled Don's dream, but also the heartfelt wishes of Dorothea and Eugeniusz.' Dick Goodwin, vice president of the Taxi Charity, said 'This trip has given the veterans the chance to return to places of deep personal meaning from their wartime service – and they've enjoyed every moment.' He said the Tattoo was 'a celebration of skill, pageantry, and shared history'. Mr Goodwin said: 'It was a fantastic performance, from the hundreds of pipers, The Band of the Polish Border Guard, that delighted World War Two veteran Eugeniusz Niedzielski, to the precision and daring of the USAF Honor Guard Drill Team, spinning and throwing rifles with bayonets attached. 'The whole evening was a celebration of skill, pageantry, and shared history. 'This trip has given the veterans the chance to return to places of deep personal meaning from their wartime service – and they've enjoyed every moment.'

Jessie J's hair 'is falling out like crazy'

Jessie J's hair was falling out "like crazy" after she underwent surgery. The 37-year-old pop star underwent a mastectomy in June, after being diagnosed with breast cancer, and in a video filmed two weeks ago, Jessie revealed the physical toll of her surgery. In a video posted on Instagram, and filmed before a TV show appearance, Jessie explains: "My hair has been falling out like crazy since the surgery. "Five weeks today since my surgery and I'm feeling okay." Jessie admitted that she doesn't know what the future holds and that her health troubles had changed her "perspective on everything". The singer - who has son Sky, two, with Chanan Colman - said: "I'm just trying to figure out what the next six months will look like. "I know I can't do everything that I was suppose to be doing but I just want to be able to make it work the best I can for everybody, me, Sky, my fans but in the right order. "You are always gonna leave some people disappointed. My perspective on everything has changed so much." Meanwhile, Jessie recently revealed that she's set to undergo another surgery later this year. In a lengthy post on Instagram, Jessie shared: "I can rest, parent AND release new music. "I didn't leave a major label after 18 years to be scared to re write the rules to fit around my life / health. I just have to make it realistic on what I can deliver in all roles in my life. "Another surgery needed this year. "I can do it. [tick emoji] "Raising a toddler. "I can do it. [tick emoji] "Releasing new music. "I can do it. [tick emoji] "It will look different to what I had planned but that's life, things change and either we panic and get mad that it isn't what is was going to be, or we ADAPT. "I'm just flowing with life. Learning about who I am in motherhood and when my health goes left unexpectedly. (sic)" Jessie is still in the midst of her recovery from surgery. However, she remains ambitious and is looking to the future with optimism. The singer said: "I am 7 weeks post breast cancer surgery. I'm still in the thick of recovery and my body is still finding its way. But I LOVE music and I LOVE my life and I want to LIVE in the moment. (sic)"

Click here to read all of the interviews! Today we've got Arsenal fan Friction! Hi Friction. What are you hoping to see from Arsenal in the 2025/26 Premier League season? After what I think is a really strong transfer window (that may not be finished), I'd love to see us make that step up and win the league this season. Liverpool look even stronger and Chelsea look like they've improved too so obviously it's going to be tough but let's see what happens! What is your hottest take or boldest prediction for Arsenal's 2025/26 Premier League season? Christian Nørgaard will prove to be a really valuable addition to the squad. If you were going to bet your life savings on something definitely happening to Arsenal in the 2025/26 season, what would it be? That we will again fall victim to some absolutely shocking refereeing/VAR decisions! Other than your own, which team or player are you most excited to watch in the 2025/26 season? Really excited to see Florian Wirtz. He looks like such a good player. What do you predict will be the first managerial change of the 2025/26 season? I think things could be tough for Ruben Amorim if Man United don't get off to a strong start. Who will turn out to be Arsenal's signing of the summer? Martín Zubimendi. Who will finish as the Premier League's Player of the Season? I can't see why Mo Salah doesn't dominate again. Who will win the Golden Boot? Viktor Gyökeres. Which club will win the Premier League title? Arsenal. Finally, which three clubs will be relegated? Burnley, Leeds, Tottenham. Friction's new track, Real Life is out now.
