Kendrick Lamar & SZA Lead Hot 100 for Ninth Week, Teddy Swims Makes History in Top 10
Kendrick Lamar and SZA's 'Luther' rules the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart for a ninth total and consecutive week. The single, whose title honors late R&B legend Luther Vandross, who is sampled on the track, became Lamar's sixth No. 1 and SZA's third. Lamar and SZA each extend their longest career Hot 100 reigns with the song, whose official video premiered April 11.

Meanwhile, 'Luther' passes 24kGoldn's 'Mood' (featuring iann dior), which led for eight weeks in 2020-21, for the sole second-longest Hot 100 command among rap hits this decade, after only Roddy Ricch's 'The Box,' which dominated for 11 weeks in 2020. (Rap titles are defined as those that have hit or are eligible for Billboard's Hot Rap Songs chart.)
Plus, Chappell Roan ties her best Hot 100 rank, as 'Pink Pony Club' rises 5-4; Alex Warren's first top 10, 'Ordinary,' reaches the top five (7-5), and hits No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart; and Teddy Swims' 'Lose Control,' at No. 7, breaks the record for the most weeks ever spent in the Hot 100's top 10, as it adds a 58th week in the region, one-upping the run of The Weeknd's 'Blinding Lights.'

The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations. All charts (dated April 26, 2025) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, April 22. The single also lifts 3-1 to become Warren's first leader on Digital Song Sales (6,000 sold, up 3%).Teddy Swims' 'Lose Control,' which led the Hot 100 for a week in March 2024, and became the year's No. 1 song, rebounds 8-7, as it tallies a record-breaking 58th week in the top 10, surpassing the run in the region of The Weeknd's 'Blinding Lights' for the most such frames in the chart's 66-year history. 'Lose Control' first set up shop in the top 10 on the list dated Jan. 20, 2024, and has been absent from the tier for only eight weeks since.

'Lose Control' notches an 87th week on the Hot 100 overall, tying Imagine Dragons' 'Radioactive,' in 2012-14, for the third-longest stay in the chart's history. They trail only 'Heat Waves' (91 weeks, in 2021-22) and 'Blinding Lights' (90, in 2019-22).
Elsewhere in the Hot 100's top 10, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' 'Die With a Smile' ascends 3-2, following five nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 beginning in January. The song swaps spots with Drake's 'Nokia,' down a spot from its No. 2 high.
Shaboozey's 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' drops 4-6 on the Hot 100, following its record-tying 19 weeks at No. 1 beginning last July. It posts a 41st week atop the multimetric Hot Country Songs chart.

Joe Jonas Hits New Career Peaks With His First Solo Album In More Than A Decade
Joe Jonas earns his highest solo chart placements yet as Music for People Who Believe in Love opens ... More at No. 3 on Top Album Sales and Vinyl Albums charts. THE KELLY CLARKSON SHOW — Episode BP161 — Pictured: Joe Jonas — (Photo by: Weiss Eubanks/NBCUniversal via Getty Images) Joe Jonas may be best known as one-third of the Jonas Brothers, the chart-topping sibling trio behind a string of bestselling albums and massive pop singles. But in between his stints with the band, he's also found success with other projects — most notably as the frontman of DNCE, the act that rocketed into the top 10 on the Hot 100 with 'Cake by the Ocean.' Jonas has released only two full-lengths under his own name, and neither has reached the same level of acclaim or success as his group efforts. That changes – at least in some regards – this week with Music for People Who Believe in Love, his latest solo project. Music for People Who Believe in Love debuts on multiple Billboard tallies this frame. The set opens at No. 3 on both the Top Album Sales and Vinyl Albums charts. It also kicks off its time at No. 24 on the Billboard 200, and it marks a new high solo for Jonas on almost every one of those tallies. With Music for People Who Believe in Love, Jonas scores his first-ever appearance on the list of bestselling vinyl titles in the U.S. He also earns his inaugural top 10 placement on the Top Album Sales ranking. According to Luminate, the collection sold just over 17,100 copies once it became widely available. This frame, Jonas manages the highest debut among all new releases on the Top Album Sales chart. Morgan Wallen's I'm the Problem leads for a second stint, while Music by Playboi Carti reappears in the runner-up spot. Jonas's latest easily outpaces the peak set by Fastlife, his solo debut from October 2011. That set reached a high of No. 15 on the Top Album Sales chart and vanished after just two weeks. Although Music for People Who Believe in Love doesn't surpass Fastlife on the Billboard 200 — where the earlier of the two projects also peaked at No. 15 — the fact that the title begins its time on the roster inside the top 40 after little success in the way of singles is noteworthy.

Billie Eilish's Only No. 1 Hit Demoted Again Within Her Discography
For much of her career, Billie Eilish has been known as the 'bad guy,' thanks to her breakout hit of the same name, which is the tune that propelled her to global superstardom. More than half a decade later, 'Bad Guy' is no longer the sturdiest in her catalog when it comes to chart longevity. As of this frame, another tune has passed it on the most important songs ranking in America. 'Wildflower,' Eilish's latest single from her most recent album Hit Me Hard and Soft, climbs on this week's Hot 100, pushing from No. 58 to No. 44. This marks its fiftieth frame on the ranking of the most consumed songs in America. Now that 'Wildflower' has lived on the Hot 100 for 50 weeks, it breaks its tie with 'Bad Guy' and officially becomes Eilish's second-longest-charting track ever. 'Bad Guy' remained on the tally for 49 periods between April and August of 2019. While it has now been demoted to third place on the list of her longest-running wins on the Hot 100, it is still her sole No. 1. Meanwhile, 'Birds of a Feather' continues to extend its lead as Eilish's track with the most time spent on the Hot 100. The biggest single from Hit Me Hard and Soft inches closer to the top 10, lifting four spaces to No. 13 after previously topping out at No. 2. It does so as it reaches 54 weeks on the roster, and it seems likely to continue adding to that total in the coming frames. 'Wildflower' is performing so well in the U.S. thanks to a healthy mix of streaming activity and radio attention. The track appears on multiple streaming-only tallies, and it currently sits at No. 6 on both the Rock Streaming Songs and Alternative Streaming Songs rankings. The tune is also rising at top 40 radio, and this time around it manages to climb to a new all-time high of No. 15 on the Pop Airplay chart.
