The ending you saw in Saiyaara movie wasn't the only one; ChatGPT wrote a completely different climax
The ending you saw in Saiyaara movie wasn't the only one; ChatGPT wrote a completely different climax When filmmakers work on a movie's ending, they usually turn to seasoned screenwriters, story editors, and creative consultants. But for Saiyaara , an unexpected 'team member' briefly joined the process — ChatGPT. The AI chatbot, known for writing everything from poems to press releases, was asked to suggest a possible ending for the romantic drama. While AI tools have been used in marketing and promotions, their role in shaping the climax of a major Bollywood film is still rare. The experiment sparked excitement in the writing room, but also raised questions. Could an AI-written ending truly capture the emotion, pacing, and cultural depth the story demanded? And more importantly, would the filmmakers actually use it? Saiyaara team turned to ChatGPT for the perfect ending The Saiyaara team had been debating how to close the film for weeks. Multiple versions were drafted, but none seemed to hit the perfect balance between drama and realism. As a creative exercise, one of the assistant writers suggested asking ChatGPT for ideas. The team entered a detailed prompt outlining the characters' journeys, emotional stakes, and the conflicts leading up to the climax. Within seconds, ChatGPT generated three different endings: each written in polished, dialogue-heavy scenes. The AI-generated ending that almost happened One of ChatGPT's versions immediately caught the team's attention. It suggested a bittersweet conclusion where the lead couple part ways at the train station, exchanging a final smile before boarding different trains. The idea mirrored classic Bollywood romance tropes while keeping a modern, understated tone. Some team members felt the AI ending had a surprising emotional pull, especially considering it came from a machine that had never experienced love or heartbreak. Why the filmmakers chose a different path Despite its appeal, the AI's version didn't make it to the final cut. The director explained that while ChatGPT's scene was 'technically sound,' it lacked the subtle cultural nuances and emotional buildup the story needed. The team also felt that relying on AI for such a crucial moment might overshadow the human storytelling that Bollywood thrives on. Instead, they chose an ending that kept the emotional intensity but deepened character arcs in a way that felt more authentic to the narrative they had built from day one. Goa govt mulls tweaking law to allow amplified music after 10pm
Porvorim: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Friday said govt will examine the possibility of tweaking the law to allow amplified music beyond 10pm in the state in a bid to boost tourism and provide relaxation for Goan weddings. Govt will file a review petition in Supreme Court to allow such music beyond 10pm, Sawant said, and added that he will direct police not to stop music played indoors beyond 10pm. 'We cannot bypass SC order, and we will do whatever possible to allow music beyond 10pm considering the law,' Sawant, who also holds the home portfolio, told the House. The state has the power to relax the rules for 15 days to allow music beyond 10pm, and govt is deciding on those days, he said. Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai said he has raised this issue in the interest of Goans having weddings and those running restaurants. He said the CM wrote a letter suggesting that music played at 70 decibels should be allowed between 10pm and 1am, but was told that it was not possible. 'Has govt given up on this issue?' Sardesai asked. In response, law minister Aleixo Sequeira said govt has consulted senior lawyers in Delhi to file a review petition in the SC to allow music at night. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Cargo Ship Meets Pirates - Watch What the Captain Does Next! He noted that in his budget speech, the Karnataka CM assured to keep establishments open. 'If Karnataka can do it, why can we not allow it?...Will (Goa) govt allow restaurants, shacks, and open-air venues to play music until midnight?' he asked while seeking CM's intervention in the matter. Sardesai further said state govt has lost Rs 1,600 crore in revenue due to the 10pm restriction on amplified sound and demanded that the CM make a statement that music at weddings will be allowed until 1am. 'If we can keep establishments open until 1am, we can examine this. We don't have a problem allowing music until 1am for weddings, but we have to have a look at the law,' Sawant said and noted that in Goa, govt faces problems from NGOs who file cases. Bicholim MLA Chandrakant Shetye urged govt to decide on the days it can relax the rules to allow amplified music beyond 10pm. Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira said govt must first amend the music ban notification and forward it to Centre for consideration before filing a review petition in the SC. Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral said govt should issue directions to the police to not stop music played indoors. Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI).
