Meghan's 'never-before-seen list of demands that sparked Vogue feud'
Meghan Markle allegedly demanded treatment 'not even Beyonce' gets ahead of the prestigious Vogue September issue 2022 - which led to her fall-out with yet another high-profile friend
Meghan Markle's alleged outrageous demands reportedly led to a fall-out with one of her prominent friends - and lost her the chance to appear on the front cover of fashion bible Vogue.
According to new claims, the Duchess of Sussex piled so much pressure on the then-editor of Vogue UK Edward Enninful ahead of a potential appearance in the UK Vogue September 2022 issue that the pair fell out.
Meghan, 43, had been working with Edward on a collaboration for the prestigious fashion issue that would include her keynote appearance at the One Young World Summit in Manchester, along with "involved extensive features across the magazine and its digital editions".
But the duchess, nicknamed 'Duchess Difficult' by her US staff, allegedly demanded to have the global cover of Vogue - appearing on the front covers of both the US and UK versions at the same time - and even appealed to Anna Wintour in a bid to persuade her.
She then badgered Enninful with a list of six demands, a source tells Page Six.
"Meghan asked for control over [the] photographer, writer, final edit, photos, cover lines, and wanted a global issue," they revealed. "Nobody gets that. Not even Beyoncé."
But Enninful already had supermodel Linda Evangelista booked for the September 2022 cover, and is said to have been unwavering in his decision to keep her.
His stance reportedly led to Meghan pulling the plug on their scheduled feature and sparked their falling out, the outlet claims.
She is then said to have demanded a call with US Vogue editor Anna - inspiration behind the film The Devil Wears Prada - and in a scheduled Zoom call, attempted to persuade Anna to listen to her ideas.
But Anna had already signed up Serena Williams - one of Meghan's closest A-list friends, who was at her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry - to be US Vogue's cover star for that issue, and apparently politely declined Meghan's offer.
"Anna wasn't interested," the source adds. "Meghan asked for a Zoom with her to reconsider, and Anna did it to be polite."
Enninful had asked Meghan to appear on the cover of British Vogue's Forces for Change issue in 2019, but instead she chose to guest-edit the edition. To date, Adele is the only celebrity to have appeared on UK and US Vogue covers simultaneously, in November 2021.
And according to the Daily Mail, Enninful was "furious" when Meghan pulled the plug after learning she would not be on the front page of British Vogue.
"The duchess and her team had high expectations and were expecting she might get a print cover or at least a digital cover out of it, but Enninful was not able to meet those expectations," said an insider.
"He already had a magazine cover in the bag for that month. Edward was furious to have lost the project, as were the powers that be at Condé Nast."
The source added: "The whole process became very difficult. Edward could only promise her a big showy feature inside the magazine and online — but she turned it down."
The source also claimed Meghan and Enninful - who quit the magazine in February - are no longer on speaking terms, but Page Six's insider says they still exchange birthday wishes and flowers and their relationship has remained "warm and respectful" in the years since their tiff.
Meghan has fallen out with several of her friends and family in the years since her first blind date with Harry in 2016. Their fractured relationship with Meghan's in-laws, Prince Charles and Queen Camilla, has been widely reported, while the couple haven't spoken to Harry's brother Prince William or his wife Kate Middleton in years.
Meghan is also believed to have fallen out with best friend Jessica Mulroney - whose sons were page boys and daughter was a flower girl at the royal wedding - when Jess faced criticism for comments she made about white privilege during the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests.
And there have been reports of tension with tennis champion Serena Williams when they were seen heading out to lunch together in March, shortly before the launch of Meghan's new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan.

The 31-year-old Peaches singer has been concerning fans in recent weeks with his erratic online behaviour, which included lengthy rants to shocking admissions about his wife Hailey Bieber's US Vogue cover. In his latest Instagram post, over a pink background, he shared with his followers: "Telling other humans they deserve something is like raising someone else's kids. Who are you to tell someone what someone should or shouldn't have. The audacity. That's not your place. God decides what we deserve." Fans immediately shared their worries for the star in the comment section, with one user writing: "God told me you need a social media break," as over 21,000 fans liked the comment. "Brother didn't you tell your wife she could never be on the cover of vogue??" one person referenced his recent admission about a fight he had with his wife. Justin. You told Hailey she couldn't be on a cover of Vogue, isn't that telling her she couldn't have something ?" another person commented. Sorry singer Justin, who was recently centre of rumours surrounding his marriage to Hailey, was recently slammed by fans after he said he told his wife and mum of his son, Jack Blues, that she would never grace the cover of Vogue during a heated argument. Responding to her cover shot for the US edition of the magazine on Instagram, he mused: "'Yo, this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight, I told Hails that she would never be on the cover of Vogue. Yikes, I know, so mean. For some reason because I felt so disrespected, I thought I gotta get even. "Think as we mature we realise that we're not helping anything by getting even, we're honestly just prolonging what we really want which is intimacy and connection." He concluded his post by writing a message directly to Hailey, which read: "So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn't get a Vogue cover cuz clearly I was sadly mistaken." While some claimed he was simply joking, many slammed the Canadian singer over his comments. He soon replaced the caption with a shrugging emoji. Fans noticed the change, with one writing: "Not him changing the caption." Not long after, it was revealed Hailey struck a huge deal to sell her beauty and skincare brand Rhode to e.l.f. Beauty in a transaction that could reach a staggering £740 million ($1billion).
