Golf Logistics, financials and infrastructure are only part of the story for why Canada's two biggest golf tournaments take different paths. Aug. 18, 2025 7 min read Save By Rick YoungContributing Columnist They are both national championships on the schedules of the world's biggest golf tours and conducted in largely the same manner. But there is one big difference between the RBC Canadian Open and CPKC Women's Open: The former is on a continued homestand while the latter is thriving on the road. Jeff Hoffman's last blown save fanned those flames awfully hard. After not having pitched in a week, he came in to protect a one-run lead with two on and two out in the eighth inning in Los Angeles on Aug. 10 and proceeded to walk the first two batters he faced, handing the Dodgers the tying run.
