Maxi Urruti late equalizers extends Revolution's unbeaten run to seven games with tie at Sporting Kansas City
New England (5-4-4, 19 points) had a strong first half with Carles Gil setting up a pair of goals to take a 2-0 lead.

In the 14th minute, Gil slotted a nice pass to Ganago to the left of the goal, and he centered a pass along the ground and Tomás Chancalay had the inside track to the ball against his defender and slid to redirect it in.

The Argentinian forward is getting back into form after partially tearing his right ACL against NYCFC on May 25, 2024, and having surgery over the summer. He has played 74 minutes across five substitute appearances in MLS action since making his season debut April 12, which coincides with the start of the Revolution's unbeaten run. Chancalay generated five scoring chances before being substituted off in the 70th minute.

The Revolution doubled their lead nine minutes later with Gil delivering a pass into the left side of the box for an open Peyton Miller. Miller's low cross intended for Alhassan Yusuf was deflected into the net by SKC defender Jacob Bartlett for an own goal.
Sporting Kansas City made three halftime substitutions and immediately took the play at the Revolution, scoring three times in the first 16 minutes.
Dániel Sallói got the hosts on the board in the 53rd minute with his fifth goal of the season on a rebound of a shot from Bartlett.
Another big rebound led to Sporting Kansas City pulling level with Revolution defender Mamadou Fofana pulling down Dejean Joveljic in the box, resulting in a penalty kick. Joveljic sent Revolution goalkeeper Aljaz Ivacic the wrong way, tying the game in the 59th minute with his seventh goal of the year.
Just two minutes later Sporting Kansas City grabbed the lead on a counterattack. Zorhan Bassong stripped Ganago to start the rush that led to a Erik Thommy cross from the right for a Manu García volley that took a slight deflection off Revolution defender Brayan Ceballos on its way to finding the back of the net.
The tie marked the first of three road games in an eight-day span for the Revolution, who will visit D.C. United on Wednesday and Montreal next Saturday.

A slow offseason has suddenly gotten busy for the San Francisco 49ers. Now Pro Football and Sports Network has another idea to help the 49ers improve a weakness on their roster. The 49ers needed to add help at defensive end, so they sent a conditional fifth-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for DE Bryce Huff. PFSN suggested another low-level trade that would bolster San Francisco's depth at wide receiver − a position with sizable question marks across the roster. Advertisement After an offseason of passing on big-name additions, the 49ers turn to a familiar face in PFSN's trade idea. They believe trading for New England Patriots WR Kendrick Bourne would give the 49ers the quality depth their roster lacks. Via PFSN: Bourne's future with the Patriots is somewhat uncertain, especially since the new coaching staff has no attachment to him. Since posting 55 catches and 800 yards in 2021, he hasn't surpassed 500 receiving yards in a season, and a torn ACL in October 2023 has impacted his availability the past two years. With Bourne turning 30 in August and the Patriots already bringing in Diggs and Mack Hollins as veteran presences, his role in New England looks shaky. Bourne is set to earn around $6.5 million this season and is under contract through 2026, though none of the remaining money is guaranteed. Teams reportedly showed interest around the trade deadline a season ago, but nothing ever materialized. Given his limited role and the lack of clarity around his fit within New England's rebuild, it wouldn't be shocking to see him moved. This is the type of move that would help round out a roster that was too top heavy a season ago. A fully healthy version of the 49ers would be in an okay place at receiver. Ricky Pearsall dealt with multiple injuries during camp last year and is now working through a hamstring injury he sustained in OTAs. Brandon Aiyuk's status for the regular season is up in the air as he makes his way back from a torn ACL in Week 7 last year. Demarcus Robinson, a free agent signee, may be facing a three-game suspension. Second-year fourth-round pick Jacob Cowing struggled as a rookie, and rookie Jordan Watkins is still unproven. Advertisement There are a handful of other veterans on the roster, but adding Bourne would make a ton of sense for a group with so many question marks. The 29-year-old posted only 28 catches for 305 yards and one touchdown last season while returning from his torn ACL. However, in 2023 before his injury he was up to 37 catches, 406 yards and four touchdowns in only eight games. San Francisco would love to have Bourne as an option who is familiar with their offense, and for Bourne it would give him an opportunity to regain his footing in his second season after a knee injury. A couple of strong years for the 49ers could earn Bourne another decent NFL contract. Bourne spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the 49ers. He led 49ers receivers with 487 receiving yards in 2018, and posted 1,769 yards with 11 touchdowns on 137 receptions across 58 games in San Francisco. Fenway Park's Pesky's Pole gifts Red Sox dramatic victory with record-setting short homer
Ceddanne Rafaela may just be thanking his lucky stars he plays his home games at Fenway Park. Rafaela used Pesky's Pole to his advantage on Wednesday afternoon to lift his Boston Red Sox to an 11-9 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. On the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the ninth, a 97-mph fastball, Rafaela swung and flew one down the right field line. But with the foul pole just 302 feet from home plate, it was enough to be a walk-off two-run homer. The ball traveled just 308 feet, the shortest walk-off shot in the Statcast era (since 2015). Obviously, it would only have been a home run at Fenway. The three shortest home runs ever tracked by Statcast have all been at Fenway Park, and Rafaela's shot is the third-shortest on record. The Angels blew 4-0, 7-5, 8-7 and 9-8 leads, with Rafael Devers bouncing a chopper between the gloves of second baseman Chris Taylor and shortstop Zach Neto behind second base to tie it 9-9 in the eighth. The Angels moved to 28-33, while the Sox are now 30-34. Each of the first three times the Red Sox scored, Los Angeles answered with runs of its own. But after walking Mike Trout to lead off the ninth, Cooper Criswell (1-0) got the next three batters out to give Boston a chance to walk it off. The pole, of course, is named after Johnny Pesky, who hit just 17 career home runs, but six of them occurred right around the pole. Steelers CB Wants to Get Revenge on Ja'Marr Chase: ‘All I've Been Thinking About'
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers third-year cornerback Cory Trice Jr. looks forward to his rematch against Cincinnati Bengals All-Pro wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase in 2025. Trice has a bad taste in his mouth after getting torched by Chase in the Steelers' Week 18 loss to Cincinnati. 'That's all I've been thinking about,' Trice said at OTAs on Tuesday. 'Because that was my last game out. I just don't want anybody to really just think of me as that last game because I'm way better than that. It stung a little bit. I'm still feeling it right now. That's really kind of my motivation going into next year. Just make sure I don't put no tape out there like that again.' Advertisement Chase went off against the Steelers, recording 10 catches for 96 yards and a touchdown. Most of those receptions came on Trice. 'I don't think (coaches) was upset. Everybody, they actually was saying I did a good job and stuff like that,' Trice said. 'For me, I'm used to letting up nothing, so I was upset. I was really hard on myself. I done watched that game already like 10 times.' Trice has been snake-bitten by the injury bug his entire playing career. His size and physicality make him an attractive dime backer or potential tight end eraser if he can stay on the field. The problem is that there's not much evidence that he can do that, as unfortunate as it is. Once he was finally healthy enough to suit up, he was baptized by fire against the Bengals' star receivers in the regular season finale. He played in just six games in 2024, missing 11 games due to a hamstring injury that occurred while covering a punt against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 22. Trice was on injured reserve for a significant portion of the season. Trice has been a player with high hopes from the Steelers, despite being a seventh-round draft pick and has been considered by some a potential future starter. Trice had a clutch red zone interception in the third quarter of the Steelers' Week 2 win over the Denver Broncos. It also marked Trice's first career interception. After missing his entire rookie season due to an ACL injury, Trice's teammates were thrilled for him to get rewarded with a game-changing interception. 'Cory stepped up in the moment,' defensive tackle Cam Heyward said. 'What a heck of a way for a guy who was hurt all last year to be ready for that moment and make a big play for us and keep seven (points) off the board.'
