Man injured after Peoria shooting
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — One man has been hospitalized after being shot early Thursday afternoon near the old Quest Middle School.
The 19-year-old victim suffered serious injuries near North Bootz Avenue and West Hanssler Place, said Peoria police spokeswoman Semone Roth.
The ShotSpotter gunfire detection system detected 17 rounds fired, according to Roth.
Yellow crime scene tape ringed the area where the shooting occurred. It also blocked traffic. Officers were canvassing the area and asking questions to people in the neighborhood.
No suspect information has been released at this time. This incident is currently under investigation.
