Two Britain's Got Talent semi-finalists revealed they've have had huge health setbacks ahead of tonight's semi-final
Britain's Got Talent has been keeping fans entertained for weeks, but the end is now near as the show airs the final live semi-final. Tonight, dancer Jerry Pop and singer CJ Emmons were the first two acts to take to the stage. The two smashed their performances, but it hasn't been an easy few weeks for either acts, as they'd both been hit with health struggles just weeks before their live semi-final.
In his BGT VT, Jerry Pop revealed that he had broken his leg - therefore, hadn't had as much time to rehearse at he'd like. At the end of his performance, he revealed he only had his boot taken off 2-3 weeks before his performance tonight.
Next, CJ was overwhelmed with emotion after his rendition of James Brown's 'It's A Man's Man's Man's World'. With tears in his eyes, CJ told hosts Ant and Dec that just two weeks ago, he was in hospital fighting for his life.
Earlier in the week the star revealed he was recovering from gallbladder surgery. 'They cut into my abdominal wall and every time after that, it's been hurting to sing. But my doctor's like, 'keep singing, strengthen it, strengthen it, and it's going to get better.' So there's still a bit of pain. But I can tell it's getting stronger and stronger," he told the Mirror.
It came after a show stopping performance, in which the audience were calling on guest judge KSI to use his Golden Buzzer privileges to send the star straight through to the semi-final. However, the YouTuber decided to hold back, later giving it to magician Harry.
However, Amanda assured the act he wouldn't have to worry as the public would definitely be behind him.
This year, fans have had to wait even longer to find out which acts had made it through to the final due to a schedule switch up. Usually, the ITV talent show would air the semi-finals consecutively over one week. It's not the only change though. This year, for the first time ever the show has introduced the Golden Buzzer in the semi-final.
The feature was Initially used in the auditions to put an act straight through to the semi's without having to be a part of the short listing process.
However, this year, the judges have more power than ever as each week, one of them was given the power to send one act straight through to the final. The other is decided by public vote.
Tonight was the last time viewers will see the Golden Buzzer this year, with the final decision being left completely in the publics hand.
It was Dance LED group The Blackouts who made BGT history during the first semi-final - as the first act to receive the Golden Buzzer at that stage. Amanda Holden was the first judge to be given the honour, as she made a very difficult decision.
"Your audition took our breath away and this evening, it was even better," Amanda said before pressing the all important buzzer. "I cannot wait to see what you do in the final," Amanda exclaimed, as she joined them to celebrate on stage.

According to psychologist Stefan Walters, Meghan's increasingly frequent disclosures on her Confessions Of A Female Founder podcast could well be a sign that she is feeling broody. 'Women often romanticise and enjoy that stage of pregnancy and having a newborn baby, and want to really share that with the world at large because it can be such a unique and beautiful time,' he tells Mirror. Stefan also suggests that Meghan's podcast has given her a much-needed platform to be able to work through some of the traumatic episodes she experienced during her pregnancy and the early years. During one shocking interview at the end of the Sussexes' official tour to South Africa shortly after Archie's birth, Meghan seemed to be struggling under the weight of the spotlight amid the growing tensions with their extended royal family. When a reporter asked how she was coping, Meghan responded, 'Any woman, especially when you're pregnant, you're really vulnerable, so that was made really challenging. So then when you have a newborn… especially as a woman, it's a lot.' According to Stefan, Meghan's recent personal disclosures could be rewriting some of these memories. 'There's an element of getting a second chance here,' he explains. 'Pregnancy was a difficult, painful time for them, and at times she seemed to be struggling. It wasn't necessarily associated with a lot of happy memories. 'So, now she's perhaps feeling that she's able to create and relive some happy memories around pregnancy and the early years of her children's lives.' Speaking recently about those hazy early months of new motherhood, Meghan recently confessed that, despite always wanting to be a mum, it didn't go as she had imagined or hoped. 'I was like 'Oh gosh, I'm going to give a speech with a baby on my hip,'' she revealed on her podcast. 'I had a whole vision – and then you fast forward… granted, I had a lot of external things happening by the time I had both pregnancies and both babies. But it was not the way I envisioned it.' Today, her glossy Instagram feed is packed with personal posts featuring Harry, 40, and, increasingly, their children, including a sweet recent clip of her and Lilibet, who turns four this week, beekeeping in matching bee suits, and her wedding anniversary montage. The latter featured a baby scan labelled Archie, who turned six in May, as well as one of Harry cradling one of the children as a newborn. It's in stark contrast to the protocol that governs most working royals, when family photos are generally only released on occasions like birthdays or at Christmas. Indeed, Stefan believes Meghan appears to be embracing the freedom of no longer being bound by strict royal rules. 'I think she's partly creating a platform for herself, because she was ridiculed publicly and when she and Harry left the UK, there was a lot of scorn directed at them. By doing her podcast she now has a brand, but more importantly a voice. 'She probably feels that she wasn't allowed to have an authentic voice before because it went against what the royal protocol was, and it went against the brand of the royals. So she's creating an authentic voice and just being honest and open.' Branding expert Lynn Carratt claims the couple, and Meghan in particular, are walking a bit of a PR tightrope when it comes to their public image because there's a fine line between sharing the positives of their life and appearing 'overly polished'. 'While recent glimpses into her life hint at a softer side, some of the narratives still feel unattainable for many people,' she says. But Lynn says it's a definite 'positive shift' to see the pair focusing on their life in California as a family of four, rather than in conversations involving the wider royal family. 'I think their future PR strategy should aim to portray a family image that is still positive but maybe more grounded and relatable,' she adds. 'Life isn't perfect – and acknowledging the struggles, much like she does when discussing the challenges of running a business with two young children on her podcast, would resonate more authentically with the public.'

Serial killer Rose West has become a grandmother again after her paedophile son Stephen, 51, and his fiancée Emma Bradley, 39, welcomed a baby girl named Eden. Despite this happy occasion, it is understood from a source that Emma's family remains unsupportive of the match, discomforted by Stephen and citing "a rift" created in the family. Emma, a trained nurse stationed at Gloucester Royal Hospital, brings two daughters from a former relationship into the fold. Following unsettling reports indicating that Rose may be struggling with her health and has been transferred to a disabled room in prison "because she can barely walk," Emma disclosed that she and her partner were oblivious as they maintain no contact. Acknowledging that they've watched the new Netflix documentary Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story, Emma revealed that her fiancé Stephen "doesn't want to say anything because his main priority is the little ones." She elaborated: "He is adamant, at this time of his life he's got a young family to protect." Stephen, himself a grandfather, has eight children from two previous marriages. When I was there, she tried to make friends with the other women and gave them gifts, like vapes, but she was rejected. She likes to watch nature documentaries on the TV in her cell, especially ones about birds." In an effort to distance herself from her heinous acts, it's purported that West shelled out £36 to officially adopt the name Jennifer Jones. Reports suggest she went through the deed poll process last December, expressing to acquaintances that it represents a step towards moving forward. Nonetheless, her true identity remains common knowledge at the all-female HMP New Hall near Wakefield in West Yorkshire. Some prisoners reject her overtures of companionship, leading her to consume tomato soup solitarily in her cell for breakfast, followed by prolonged periods of knitting and conversing with the television due to her limited mobility. West is currently detained in New Hall's designated section called Rivendell House, where she occupies one of the 30 en-suite cells available to inmates, each furnished with a laptop for ordering food. Inspection reports suggest that the shared spaces in this unit are "more inviting" compared to other areas within the prison.
