RJ Mahvash speaks out about Yuzvendra Chahal dating rumours: Here's what she wants everyone to know. 'I am just a girl'
has recently spoken out about the emotional impact of online trolling amid widespread speculation about her relationship with Indian cricketer
Yuzvendra Chahal
. Though neither Mahvash nor Chahal has publicly confirmed the rumours, their frequent interactions and appearances together have fueled media and public curiosity. The constant trolling, Mahvash revealed, took a serious toll on her
mental health
and made her consider stepping away from social media and the public eye altogether.
Emotional Strain of False Accusations
In a candid interview with The Free Press Journal, Mahvash described how the online harassment affected her deeply. She shared that there were moments when she felt overwhelmed and thought about giving up completely. She expressed frustration over the false claims circulating about her, saying, "I was unable to process because some of them were not even true. I was like, 'Why are these people doing this to me, I am just a girl who is trying to live a life? Why are these people being so mean when they don't even know the truth?'"
This led her to imagine retreating from public life to live simply, away from the spotlight, even humorously mentioning a desire to hide in the mountains selling Maggie noodles. Despite this, she clarified that she never sought such attention in the first place, highlighting how the trolling weighed heavily on her emotionally.
The Dilemma of Responding to Rumours
Mahvash also discussed the difficulty in addressing false rumours, explaining that the teams they work with often advise against responding immediately. She said, "Nobody realises this is happening with you. You just sometimes want to clarify that 'yeh jo tum bol rahe ho, yeh sab made up hai, aisa kuch hai hie nahi' (whatever you guys are saying is all made up, nothing like that is there)." While the urge to set the record straight is strong, she pointed out the futility in engaging with everyone spreading misinformation.
Mahvash emphasized that she does not owe explanations to people who are not part of her life or career, stating, "At the end, they are not your responsibility, you don't owe them anything, they are not paying your bills. So, be yourself and don't keep clarifying everything."
Professional Journey and Support
Mahvash recently made her acting debut with the web series Pyar Paisa Profit, which streams on Amazon MX Player. The show is inspired by Durjoy Datta's novel Now That You're Rich… Let's Fall in Love and features a cast including Pratik Yadav and Neil Bhoopalam. Around the series premiere, Chahal publicly showed his support by sharing a story dedicated to Mahvash on social media, further adding to speculation about their closeness.
The rumours about Mahvash and Chahal intensified after they were seen together at a Champions Trophy match in Dubai and multiple times during the IPL season. This attention came shortly after Chahal finalized his divorce from influencer Dhanashree Verma in March 2025, following their 2020 marriage. Despite the rumours, neither has officially acknowledged their relationship, though their public appearances and social media exchanges continue to spark discussions.
